Studio Martial Arts has been a wonderful addition to my sons daily life. They’re teaching him self defense but also overall self awareness. He’s been working on his respect towards his teachers and fellow students. He’s gaining confidence in his physical abilities. I’ve noticed him helping others during class. Overall I’m happy with how they approach teaching character as well as physical. The teachers are all so kind and welcoming everyday we go.

My son has gained so much confidence since he started at Studio Martial Arts. For the first time in 3 years he does not hide from me at band concerts, he is helping at home without complaints and even improved his grades at school.

This is by far the most amazing martial arts organization in San Antonio. I absolutely LOVE the one on one coaching and attention that each person receives. In just a few weeks, I’ve already seen an improvement in my child’s focus and confidence and her excitement is growing. The coaches remember your name from the first time they meet you and they really take care to make you feel welcome and apart of the family. They really value each persons growth and you can tell. This place is awesome and my 8 year old son really enjoys the program. Sifu Ram and the other instructors here are great with kids. Its easy to see that they genuinely care for their students and engage with them frequently to ensure theyre successful.

Our eight year continued to have difficulties crossing the body’s midline and doing physical activities that required all body continuous movement (left/right with arms and legs at the same time) after 4 years of once a week OT sessions. Weeks after joining Studio Martial Arts, his motor difficulties slowly began to resolve. OT built the knowledge but Studio Martial Arts gave him the physical application. We have replaced OT with SMA. His focus improved and he is doing things I did not expect him to do, like bear crawls, sideways monkey, balancing on foot for extended time, speaking with confidence, and assisting with teaching warmup! The staff is supportive and patient. They will take personal time and interest to help their students.

My son has been in Studio Martial art for less than two months and I have already seen improvement in his focus, confidence and motivation. The instructors are very good at motivating and working with each individual kid and their different personalities. A great place for kids to improve in knowledge integrity and strength.

Teachers are very personable. My kids look forward to their classes each week. It is very reasonably priced considering they don’t limit you to just one or two days a week of classes. They encourage you to come as often as you would like.

I am unbelievably grateful to have found this place. My daughter had been having difficulties after being bullied. She was a shy, timid, quiet 5 year old. At only 6 months, she has incredibly improved on her confidence. Not only in her martial art class, but all around daily life. She speaks up, she communicates with ease and speaks her thoughts. This Studio is awesome. The instructors are in constant correspondence with the students and parents regarding progress, goal setting and home dynamics. I appreciate the focus on applying the studio principles (integrity, perseverance, self-control) outside the studio - at home, school, public etc. The instructors consistently exhibit exemplary behavior encouraging students to be positive, respectful, patient and kind. They also have additional activities and participate community activities like Anti-bullying classes, trunk-or-treat and seasonal festivals. I’ve been looking for the right martial arts place to enroll my daughter in, and after a year of searching, I found the right place! My daughter has been going for almost a month and I’ve already noticed progress on her self esteem and confidence. That’s something she’s been having struggles on for a couple years but thanks to the instructors she has done so much better. Everyone is very friendly which makes it a great welcoming environment. My daughter loves going and it’s something she looks forward to every week. So, if you’re looking for a martial arts place that will help with self discipline, confidence, focus and so much more, this is the place!

This place is wonderful! It has been great for my son. Not only with learning martial arts, but also respect, focus, confidence and more! My son has a minor cognitive disability, along with cerebral palsy. The instructors are very passionate and patient with him! This is the kind of place that actually cares, and it shows.

My family and I have been going here the last 7 months and it has been a great experience. I have seen an immense difference in my 6 year old son. Pros: The program is good with teaching kids to be more respectful, teaching form, doing exercises and making it fun. If you have to miss class, they are good about helping you catch up too. The Harris brothers are great. My kids loved them.Cons: Ram is high pressure. I signed my 5 & 7 year old up for a 1 year contract for $434 a month after a $734 down payment. After signing, WITHIN WEEKS he was trying to get us to sign a 5 YR CONTRACT, ANOTHER DOWN PAYMENT and around $750/MONTH. It felt very bait and switchy to me. I was very surprised. When I originally signed I had already told him I hated getting locked into contracts. I told him theres no way I could justify signing a 5 year contract for a 5 year old.We stayed with the original 1 year contract (no choice now). If you do not go with the longer/more expensive contract you cannot advance beyond orange belt. I felt he shouldve been more upfront with all the different levels/pricing/contracts from the start. YOU NEED TO CANCEL WITH HIM 90 DAYS PRIOR and IN PERSON if you do not plan on renewing your contract. You cannot cancel unless you sign away your rights to any recourse. When you go to cancel its a hard sell so Id recommend not taking your kids (Ram tries to get you to bring them). Ive signed my kids up for dance lessons, swim lessons, etc. and none were like this with the extreme contracts and cancellation policy.It would be a good program if it werent for how they handle their business side. I could never in good conscience recommend them based off that. This felt like dealing with a car salesman. Just my experience.

The instructors dont just train you to be a great martial artist, but to be a great well rounded person. Weve been a part of the Studio Martial Arts family for a month now. We are fortunate to have found this place. We came in with the intention of our kiddos trying out the class and due to their awesome program, after the first 2 members join, the rest of the family is free. Ive seen a tremendous boost in my kiddos confidence and now we train as a family. Its exciting to say that we are on our journey to become black belts as a family!!

My girls have grown so much in their confidence since joining. It is kid friendly place with great structure and discipline. The instructors take their time with the students and work with the strengths as well as any thing that need help with. It does not teach them how to fight, but to protect themselves. They can earn strips for homework, chores, reading, grades and more!!My husband and I are very happy in our choice.

Since Ive been enrolled at this school Ive noticed many things change about myself. My physical ability has increased tremendously, as well as my own coordination and balance. Not to mention the leadership classes that I was recently enrolled in have helped me better understand leadership tactics and what it takes to become a successful adult. Over all my experience here at the school has been amazing and I am excited to continue my education here! 10/10 would suggest this school to anyone looking to better themselves, while at the same time learning how to defend yourself.

My family and I have been coming here for about 7 months and have had one of the best experinces. The childrens class is excellent and focuses on more than learning how to punch and kick. This place is incredible! After only a few months in the childrens program, I have noticed significant differences in my childrens behavior, focus and confidence. Not that my 5 and 7 year old boys were terrors to begin with, but they are noticeably more respectful to me and my husband, Sifu and the other instructors and every other adult in their life. In addition to a stellar martial arts program, the childrens program focuses on leadership, courtesy, discipline and personal safety. My kids just earned their yellow belts and they are so proud of their accomplishments.

I researched different martial arts before joining Studio Martial Arts. I found Wing Tsung to be the best because of its practicality. The atmosphere in the studio is purely positive. Schoolwork, politeness, confidence, self-improvement is encouraged and taught. I joined shortly after my daughter started and love it. Its a great workout and mentally stimulating as well.

The classes are great and a lot of fun plus hard work. The staff is stern while still maintaining a friendly enviroment. Great for physical, mental and emotional growth. I highly recommend.

My 6 year old started classes about a month ago. He loves the classes and instructors and asks me all the time when his next kung fu class will be. Their teaching style boosts his confidence, teaches important life skills, and any behavioral or form corrections for him are done gently with no shaming. Absolutely outstanding; not only Sifu (teacher) but also the staff are great with the kids. I have been taking my son for over a year. Not only does his Sifu (teacher) teach how to defend in real situations. In addition the school encourages good habits such as healthy eating, book club; chores which are tracked for the student have accountability. Also the school promotes and helps all the students to develop their leadership skills.

We have had a fantastic experience at Studio Martial Arts. Our five-year old is pretty typical (full of energy, attention span of a goldfish, etc), but Sifu Ram, Sihing Harrison, and Sihing Waylon are so very positive and patient! From the very first class, our son felt welcomed, accepted, and appreciated for who he is. His focus, his respect, and coordination have improved tremendously. I was very nervous when we started due to the fact that attention and focus are 2 of my childs biggest challenges. Sifu must have sensed my nervousness because he came by and reassured me that he would be fine. He was correct and my son has come so far. I went to three different places to find the perfect fit for my 5&6 YO daughters to learn a martial art. I chose this place for three reasons: positive atmosphere, the art is taught built on the previous lessons, and after the free lessons a noticeable change in overall behavior had already taken place. After being with Sifu Rams team for three months my wife and I have noticed a marked increase in focus, confidence, kindness, and discipline. I started doing Kung Fu with my the girls thanks to their buy two and the rest of the family is fee policy. I love the family bonding and retuning my hand eye coordination.

Wonderful place to learn Wing Chun and mixed martial arts! (Wing Chun is the art Bruce Lee learned from Grandmaster Ip Man before he developed his own style.) Sifu Ram de Pena and the instructors are all excellent, patient teachers with positive attitudes! Very family-friendly studio. Excellent physical and mental conditioning.
