I got my hair done at Empire. I got a haircut and balayage touch up. I knew my roots are dark. So the hair stylist weren’t able to get all the brassiness out of top of my hair which is understandable. But when I walked out and saw my hair at home, I noticed that bottom part of my hair had 4 different colors. My hair wasn’t sectioned correctly for the balayage. The stylist seemed unsure the whole time which is okay. I knew she was a student there, but I wish Empire told me their students aren’t equipped to do balayage because I paid twice as more to fix this and damage my hair. I still look like a fool. I feel like I wasn’t informed correctly and balayage shouldn’t have been on the menu. If they said our students can’t do balayage, I would’ve gotten a haircut or just leave. I wasted my time and money. Balayage is on the menu and it’s online as well. I also emailed spring field location, I didn’t hear back which is the reason why I’m leaving this review. I hate doing this publicly, but I don’t have a choice now.

Good value for service. Love that I can just walk in and get seen that day within an hour.

While the students may be practicing, the instructor is on the floor monitoring the services the students are performing. I always get a great hairdo when I go there, plus I have gotten introduced to new products that I have seen in beauty salons or online, that I wouldnt normally have tried, that work really well on my hair.In addition, Empire Beauty School has ample parking and is accessible by public transportation.

I have been going to Empire for years and I am very pleased with the professionalism theyposess. The students, Mrs. Tia and the other instructors are A+ in my book. If you havent experienced the school treat yourself to the Empire Experience.

Some of the students really know how to do beautiful hair and make it grow ; others need more time in the classroom to build up their skills in different areas. You go for the price and when your lucky you get a person that understand hair and is professional thats just needs a license. I have been to so called professionals and everyone that has a license doesnt understand how to do everything some just know the basis things . Empire is just like any other place you go.

The students do excellent work! The wait time is no different than waiting at a hair salon. Everyone is courteous and professional! I have been going to Empire (Chestnut Street, Franklin Mills and Springfield location) for over 10 years. You can find better quality or prices!

I mean, its a school, so yes, its going to take a couple hours because the people giving you your haircut are still learning how. But the stylist I got (Danielle Donnelly) was patient and listened to what I was trying to do with my hair, and it came out very well, for very cheap.So if you need your hair done quickly, dont go here, if you want your hair done cheaply, then this place is awesome, you just need to be a little patient, and willing to describe what you want.

Its a school, people... AND you are paying $5 for a relatively decent style... oh did i say, its a school...??? oh yes i did. so expect your style to take a little bit of time. if youre looking for speed, theres a shop around the corner that probably charges $55. theyd be glad to take your money.

As a former salon owner, i can honestly say that today i received the best and most precise hair cut since closing my own shop!The staff is very friendly. Thank you!
