This is a great place our son has been going here since 3rd grade and they have been a part of him growing in to a fit and accomplished young man, they have tons of classes through out the week so if you cant make some you have plenty of others to choose from or you can go to all of them. they have wonderful and skilled trainers with many years of experience. a great place from top to bottom

I have been training at Kims Academy of Tae Kwon Do for a few months and they are wonderful! The Instructors are each very experienced and have excellent teaching skills. They are accommodating to my training needs and will work with me individually to make sure that I am doing the skills correctly. I appreciate their encouraging and positive approach to teaching.The front desk staff is friendly and helpful, I felt welcomed but not pressured during my first visit. The facility is clean and equipped with dressing rooms, a waiting area and student exercise room. The Dojang is spacious and has a good quality floor. This school maintains a professional atmosphere, which helps students to act their best and be respectful. Adult classes last a full hour, allowing plenty of time for skill practice and personal attention from the Instructors.I am having a positive experience at Kims Academy of Tae Kwon Do and I have signed a full year contract with them. I definitely recommend this school, just what I was hoping for!

It was an excellent experience for my son who only stopped because of leaving Texas for university. After his studies, my son joined a firm which is also out-of-state. I highly recommend Kim’s Academy.

I have been bringing my son to the youth class since November 2017. The instructors are excellent and hold the kids to responsible behavior while in class for their safety and the safety of others. If you are looking for a martial arts studio that will push your kids while having fun this is the place. The rates are competitive and they offer one of the best schedules for attending and have the most qualified instructors of anywhere else I looked. The instructors care and help to mentor the kids and adults alike. I have seen some say the viewing room obnoxious but anytime you have a parent not watching or letting their kids run around that is bound to happen anywhere, and I have seen it other places too. That is on the parents not this facility.

I do not like the billing structure.They have you sign a one year binding contract with no cancellation even if the child no longer wants to be enrolled or if its medically necessary. Thats right, I had a doctors note. I pushed my child attend for 4 months kicking and screaming (its clinically diagnosed anxiety and I tried very hard to help her overcome it until her doctor recommended we simply stop). When you ask for a cancellation fee, they make you pay the whole contract up front. They say what if your child wants to drop out of school? as if an extracurricular is comparable to learning to read. Its a ridiculous counter argument. BTW, yes, I would drop out of a program including a school that is not appropriate for my kid. That is why there are different schools and activities... Duh...There are plenty of other martial arts schools. Lots of belts, costs and requirements that are not explained up front. For example: $30 to break 3 boards and mandatory tournaments not in San Antonio. Look on Yelp for real reviews.However, the instructors that volunteer their time are great. This is not a bad review on the staff, but on poor business practice that makes you pay for a program even if your child is disabled. If your kid is very young and the tiniest bit finicky, then DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT.

I love this place! Kims Academy has done so much for my son and I. We have been there for three years now and feel honored to be able to train with such great instructors. Each and every instructor at Kims Academy is very dedicated and caring toward all students. I could never put a price on the things my son and I have learned about not only Tae Kwon Do, but also about ourselves. You get out what you put in to any type of training. I highly recommend Kims Academy.

A lot of time spent on other belts than on white belts..sometimes they take so long to get their kids in formation..not enough discipline from the instructors. at tines they have a black belt student teach a group of white belts! The viewing room is ridiculous! Not able to see or hear whats going on since parents are not taking control of their kids...lots of running around, toys everywhere and balls being thrown. Will definitely not renew contract if things dont change!

Grandmaster Kim and the rest of the Masters are the finest in the business! They truly care about their students in and out of the dojang.

VERY GREEDY!!! In 3 month trial period they cost me about a $1000 (1 child). After about 2 month of practice instructors recomended my son for promotion. I was exited and happy for him. However, by the time I got home, I realized that $150 fof a stripe (not even next belt) promotion is a way to exessive fee. Next day I asked them to cansel the test and refund the fees. They flat refused to refund anything, even it was well before the deadline to sign up for the test. Perhaps, mr. Kim expects me to comeback in order to use-up the money he owes me, but I dont like to feel as a cash cow and be milked by Kims Academy of Tae Kwon Do. Between two of my kids (one is already grown up), Ive seen quite a few martial arts schools. So far in my books Kims Academy of Tae Kwon Do with all the fees they invented holds the title of the greediest.
