Ive been a member here for a while and love this place. Its clean and spacious and the employees are helpful and cordial. (I havent seen anything to justify the one star reviews.) I have not had any experience with the classes or trainers, but the members I have spoken with speak highly of the classes and trainers. There are long time members who attend regularly and keep coming back. (I dont understand the one star reviews.) I highly recommend membership and attendance here!

We love this Y. It’s always super clean with lots of up to date equipment. The staff is super helpful and friendly. I’ve only taken two types of workout classes, barre and yoga, and they were both excellent. Highly recommend this gym.

Haven’t been here to this location yet. The reviews are horrible I don’t even want to step foot in this place, but I will just so I can come back and leave another review. I definitely will not be bring my family. It’s a shame to have a membership will such a great company but then to only be able to go to certain locations because of poor service. Will be back with an update of my experience.

An absolute terrible place. Management is awful does little to no work took almost 3 weeks to fix a cable machine that everyone uses also charged me over quarantine when they were closed I still got billed for my membership and today was the last straw I hit a pr on bench and got yelled at for being excited and told to be quiet. What a joke of a gym and golf is a employee there who need to get fired for yelling at me and my buddies for getting excited.I would like to add that the only nice worker there is the guy who works at the front by the name of Austin he greets me nicely every day and talks to me and is very nice.

Bolly beats by Preet at Plano is the best Zumbha class in town but the facility maintenance is HORRIBLE. The AC stopped working when its 100 degrees outside and they don’t fix even for a week. When the folks followed up, the front desk person says he opened ticket and there is nothing else he can do. This is not the first time the AC stopped working. TERRIBLE MAINTENANCE AND HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT.

Hello YMCA Team,I would like to say Thank You to Ms. Preeya, Ms. Kristin and the entire preschool staff for the great care and learning & fun environment which they provide to kids. Prachi & I were very pleased in all the aspects and our son Anay was very happy going there and have learnt a lot in a short span of time. This is an awesome place and we recommended it to all!!Thank You!!

Do not recommend coming here, management is a mess and cannot do anything. A particular staff member, (Kathy) acted very unprofessional towards me a couple times for speaking too loud. I have been a member for a couple years now and it is clear they do not care about their members.

Do not recommend. The owner of this facility, Kathy, was SUPER unprofessional and treats members with no respect. Facility does not have enough equipment for the amount of people that attend this gym. You sometimes have to wait upwards of 25 minutes just to use the bench press because there is only one rack.

I would first like to start off by saying I have been a member at many YMCA’s around the DFW area as I have moved many times, and to say the Plano Family YMCA is a disappointment to the this family of gyms is an understatement, between the rude staff and uncleanliness of the workout space I have canceled my membership with all of YMCAs and will be looking for a new gym to call home, truly disappointing how terribly this establishment is run. My only exception to this is an employee by the name of Austin. He is the only one who ever kindly greets me and consistent provides me with the services I expect from an employee, if you were looking to join the Plano Family YMCA I strongly suggest you look else wear. And yes I am fully aware that the local YMCA is not ever going to be anything to write home about, but some basic fundamentals of a successful establishment are severely lacking!

Love this gym! Not too big but has everything you need to get a great workout. Cool extras like TRX and functional training equipment as well as lots of traditional weight lifting equipment... also plenty of cardio with lots of variety. VERY clean and masks required. Staff is friendly and helpful. Child care available as well.

I have been working out at this Y for three years. The staff is courteous and professional. The trainers have been excellent. They analyze what works best for their clients and how to get the most out of them. During the pandemic they have been exercising best practices for COVID prevention.

Do not come here. Staff extremely disrespectful towards members. If you have your mask off for a split-second the owner (Kathy) will immediately pester you to put your mask on. On top of this, my friends and I were getting a lift in and were approached by the owner and were told in an “I am superior to you” tone that we were being “too loud” (keep in mind this is a gym by the way). When attempting to get a better understanding about the situation, the owner refused to explain her reasoning to us. A few days pass, and a personal trainer comes in and starts screaming at the top of his lungs at members to “respect the gym” After this, we are explaining to another trainer what had happened when the owner comes up to the trainer and tells him “don’t talk to them” then proceeds to kick us out of them gym. We cancelled our memberships at Lifetime roughly a year ago and decided to start working out here. Terrible idea. We will be going back to Lifetime.

This gym is a mess. Weight area is too small for the amount of people using is on a daily basis, causing a very long wait on some equipment. On top of this, the staff and the owner, Kathy have been very disrespectful and unprofessional. Do not recommend coming here it is a horrible gym.

Been going to this gym for awhile but their management of the COVID situation has me beyond disappointed. The signs up requiring masks seem to be for show as now every time i go to the gym, i see more people not wearing a mask at all. They say they only require mask when walking around, but even that isnt enforced. Today another member came in before me and was told they didnt have to wear a mask to enter. If you want poor management and a greater chance of you or your loved ones getting COVID, this is the gym for you.

Weve had a family membership for 10+ years at this location but have now cancelled our membership. Not happy with the COVID situation for sure but the management at this location has made some really poor personnel decisions that have made the risk of going not worth the reward! Most of the people that work here are awesome. Its just too bad they have poor leadership!

Best gym we have found yet and we have tried so many. We tried the Y in Frisco, but the staff was very unfriendly and it appeared we were interrupting their day, but the one on McDermott in N. Plano is wonderful. Great equipment...much of it quite new within the past year. The staff is very friendly and eager to help. Ryan is head of the personal trainers, I believe, and he will always take the time to explain something to you or to help you with a physical problem and recommend exercises that would work.As an added bonus, weve made some great friends among the patrons there and we look forward to catching up with them when we go.

The childcare staff is so on par for each child’s needs and wants, but that can only go so far with a limited budget for that particular program. Which to me it is crucial, as a mom, to be able to relax and enjoy my workout. I adore and love each member of the YMCA working family. I only wish there was something more we could offer to the health and benefits to the individuals who take part in our children’s lives. Mine has been going to the workout childcare program for 5 years (since she was 3 mo old). They don’t get the appreciation they deserve. That is the only negative 1 out of 5 stars for me. And it would be less if I didn’t have confidence in the people (Kasia, Alice, etc) that make our YMCA matter. They give so much of themselves, but not enough is given back. Thank you for reading and taking my words to heart.

I am a Y member in another state and was visiting here while in town. Although the facility is good for working out and the staff was very nice, I was offended that they had Fox News being broadcast in their aerobic area. The Ymca is a Christian organization that should be promoting friendship and community - not intolerance and hatred which is Fox News’ mission as the propaganda arm of the far right. I brought this up to the staff person - she was understanding but stated that the management there would not be agreeable to turning off Fox.

Did a three week basketball training (clinic) for my 8 year old and after the first training, coach stopped showing up. Front desk lady or some sort of employee started coming and literally had them rolling the ball back and forth on the floor. Running back and forth from one end of the gym to the other for the first and last 15 minutes of the clinic. Clinic was only 45 minutes so you tell me if it was worth it? Front desk people didn’t know if refunds were going to be issued or if coach was coming back, but clearly he never did.
