We had the hardest time finding the right school for our academically driven daughter. Poor kid was in 5 different schools between K and 7th grade. Private, public, charter, we tried it all, but she was never getting the education or experience she needed. We have found a home for her in San Jose. This is not just a school, its a family. My child is flourishing in this school both academically and socially. You will not find educators, staff, and administration who care this much in Duval County. Theatre and Robotics programs are top notch. Very grateful for this school and everyone who works in it.

Me as a parent I can say that I know who my son is around my house but.... when he goes to school he can act different and I thank God the staff of San Jose Academy keeps me posted on everything ... Mr. Hall you are a great Director I thank you for all concerns towards all your students ... I am so proud my son is under your guidance and all teachers at San Jose Academy and Preparatory

My son Mike goes to this school! And I am so blessed !!! My children have been to a few different schools in their short time in school. And wow other kids only dream of being able to attend a school like this one.....no school is perfect unless you are able to pay big money! So as long as he gets the education he is going for thumbs up, Im happy no place is perfect but also the kids in the school is what makes the school a happy place or a drag, as long as we teach our children the proper way to behave and take care of it and prep for the future it will get better, if negative goes on remember we as a team make the school. Kids and parents and everything takes money so if you feel something needs done to show gratitude on weekend have your kids go clean up so they appreciate their school and be proud !!! Please remember its the kids school not the staff 🤓

This is my kid second year here and he loves it. Its way better that the private school he went too. He did not learn the whole 5 years he was there. San Jose Academy has got him to grade level. All the teacher are super nice and love to talk to parents. Come on bring your kids here to San Jose Preparatory High School and San Jose Academy!!!

This is my second year at this school and I am proud to be graduating from San Jose. The school has made a complete 180 from previous years with them making the school looking more welcoming. The staff is what strengthens me as a student, for without them the experience here would be difficult. I have learned so much while being here and it is a time to remember.

This is my sons second year at San Jose Academy. Yes, they have gone through some changes but after meeting with the leadership team I am confident that they have his best interests in mind when making decisions. My son is thriving at this school and I would encourage everyone to give them a look to see if it is a good fit for their child.

This is my second year at the school and it is a good school. The teachers are nice and the food is decent. They give students time to do homework in class which is good! The Drama Club is great too!

After reading the reviews left by others I felt I needed to say a few things. My daughter is a tenth grader this year, third year attending the school. I also have a 6th grader as well. I do agree when there were others in charge the school had a lot of issues. Since the new owner took over in which we are blessed to have him, there has been so much positive improvements. With every school you attend even the best of the best schools, there will be problems. There are minor things I would like to see change but nothing to where I would take my kids out. So overall this school is Great and I would recommend it.

I have a middle schooler, soon to be headed into high school, at San Jose Academy & Preparatory High School. I appreciate the stability created by a smaller school with grades 6-12; the flexibility by teachers to individualize learning in that environment; the opportunities for college preparedness and college credits (coming our way in the high school years); and the accessibility to administration. Its always a friendly environment when I walk through the front doors.

WE LOVE THIS SCHOOL!!! This is the third year my middle and high schooler have attended and they are THRIVING! Every change we have encountered has made things better once it was implemented and given a little time. The Drama program is top-notch and the Robotics Team is going to be so much fun this year! The Administration has really stepped up to hear from parents and students to launch an exciting new school year. On top of all that, thanks to the technology being utilized, my boys are receiving an excellent education that is propelling them directly to college, all while ensuring we have family and extracurricular time to enjoy, instead of hour upon hour of homework to do. There really is no place else in Duval County or the state of Florida that I would rather have my kids than at San Jose Academy and San Jose Prep!

I would give zero stars if possible. I have never had such a horrible experience in a school before. Hardly any resources at hand, ignorant and demeaning principle, majority of teachers are careless, and in some cases it seems that the teachers are just the students friends rather than actual teachers. I can honestly say I have learned little to nothing from this school and their teachers (Leddy, Hucks). Disorganization at its finest with students running around from class to class being disruptive and disrespectful. Mr Damico, Mrs Bell, and Ms Kisser are the only teachers I gained any form of knowledge from. If you want to just get by then this is the school for you but if you appreciate knowledge, organization, and respect then run the other way.

My kids had struggled struggled with area schools. when we first came to San Jose, truly wasnt sure what to expect. I now have a junior and an 8th grader here and couldnt be happier! my kids have been excited for the start of school this year (shocker right) and having challenging schedules and curriculum, but its made so exciting they do not feel overwhelmed! there is a ton of support and the changes made at the school have always been to try and facilitate that. Mrs. Oconner, Mr. Damico, Mrs. Zumont, Mrs. Bell and all of the other teachers truly put these kids first, and are just as excited about these children exceeding expectations as the parents are! Drama club is top notch and the most amazing directors ever. They are constantly growing and looking for new ways to engage the students and make them thrive. If you are looking for a solution to overcrowded public schools that simply dont care, and an intensive curriculum (AP Capstone, dual enrollment, college prep) without the private school tuition, as well as a genuine caring staff and loads of opportunities, bring your child here.

I could go on and on about San Jose Academy, but Ill keep it short. The teachers here care so much about your children and making sure they have the tools to succeed! Instructors like Ms. OConnor, Mrs. Bell, Ms. Zumot, and Ms. Adamkiewicz really put your children first!

My daughters are attending this school for the 2nd year in a row. When my girls first started attending the school, I was happy with everything. Mainly happy with the size of the school and the fact that I didnt worry as much about my girls. That is probably the only positive! The school itself is dirty. They dont seem to do much cleaning. The floors and halls are dusty, the bathrooms are disgusting......my girls wont even use the bathroom during the day. The education is lacking any sustenance, the teachers dont teach! I will call and email teachers and NEVER get a response. Staff is often changing. My daughters cell phone was stole out of her purse in the beginning of the school year and we received zero assistance. - Regular Duval county public schools education is far better IMO. This may be our last year at this school. I would like to say one teacher, Mr. Schinella has been an amazing teacher. He genuinely cares about his students. He goes out of his way to ensure I am always updated on the good and the bad. He is always responsive and makes himself available for tutoring. I truly appreciate this teach!

This school is the epitamy of unorganization. They have such a high turnover of teachers that my child had 3 science teachers last year. Three new principals in 3 years, and thats just the beginning. No communication with parents except for a couple of teachers. The classrooms are a ruckus and the teachers (who mean well) cant control these degenerate students. This is a school for students that cant conform to a traditional school. My child couldnt learn because of all the ruckus. It was a nightmare.Theres also a ridiculous bathroom rule where they couldnt use the bathroom except for 2 times during the year per class and no bathroom breaks when moving from class to class. Id have to stop at a store on the way home from picking my child up just so he could use the restroom. Horrific. We learned that too late. Im so glad to get my child out of here. Mr Schinella and Ms OConnor are great...but thats all the positives I have. High turnover of teachers and admin. Bullies are rampant here, and theres no discipline. Run! Run away as fast as you can.

By far my kids love it here and wants to come back here next year. And it is 100% better then Duval Charter at Baymeadows faculty and staff. I hate had kids that attended duval charter and they hated it but here at sanjose they feel welcome and know they have a better future planned.

My child goes to this school and it is a disappointment. So far there has been two teachers that have done sexual harassment to students. So many teachers have been fired. The principle doesnt even know what she is doing. All the teachers are rude and dont help students. Parents watch yourself this school is not good for your children.
