I absolutely love this school! My Daughter went all 3Three years and we never once had a problem, that had helped me to mold my princess in to the Goddess she is becoming! The teachers are amazing and so caring, I don’t have any complaints about any of them! Mrs. Malloy, Mrs.Dollard Ms. Marshall Mrs. Alexandra and the lady that’s at the front office (I forgot her nameπŸ˜”) have all went above and beyond for each and every girl at their school, not just mine and I want to thank them for the love and support! Jay Jay loves you all more than you will ever know!

My daughter struggled in public school she did not get the extra one on one that she was supposed to get. Once i enrolled her here her attitude towards school has changed she enjoys school and her grades are grades that she earned and its because of this school. This school is amazing, the teachers care about their students. They keep in constant contact with me about how good and bad my daughter is doing. If you have a daughter and do not want her to go to public middle school i very very highly recommend Waverly Academy. Thank you guyz for helping my daughter get to where she is today. This change in her NEVER would have happened if she went to Jefferson Davis.

Im making this review in case its helpful to others. I was one of the original students to attend this school the first year it opened. Im happy that they got a stable building/location. Every year it was a different principal and the first 2 years was a different building each time. Fortunately its now more spacious than the first 2 buildings. It was odd spending 3 years here then going to a public high school afterwards and comparing the differences. When I was going,(Im not sure if any of this has changed) students must remain completely silent in the hallways here. During our 30 min lunches was the only social time we got with other students, but staff took 15-20 mins of that time giving random speeches. We were told to stop eating and talking and must remain eye contact the entire time of the speeches. I was yelled at several times for continuing to EAT during LUNCH time. The staff doesnt take in consideration for families who struggle financially. They are very strict with jackets. I was told to remove my jacket bc it wasnt the one ordered off their site and made me sit in front of the opened door of the cafeteria during a whole assembly so I was freezing. In class when we were supposed to be learning, teachers would get side tracked and somehow class always became a therapy session? Just really, really weird.

The school is good and all that the food is good some teachers are really kind and caring to there students I been at waverly for 2 school years now and I think its a good school besides all the drama, it a all girl school the uniform is sometimes Uncomfortable, everyone gets talked about and there is to much drama that you don’t even know you in it yet until someone tells you about it, students there are so rude and disrespectful to there teachers A fact is that in 6 Grade We had many teachers go and we know for a fact that it is because of the disrespect Students show .and the uniforms are to much money .the facts is that you could send your child there if you want but it sometimes feel as if the screen cares bout at the same time don’t.

I went to this school for my whole middle school year. It was terrible. Everyone had drama with everyone. There was drama, bullying, and kids being grown. The uniforms sucked. Every time you had to use the bathroom in the middle of class you had to go to the office and sign a pass. That was terrible. I never wanted to go to the bathroom. The teachers I had were amazing but some of the other teachers were straight up mean. Idk if Waverly changed but for the future girls that do go there good luck. I suggest that when you read this, you tell your parents not to take you there. DO NOT GO THERE!!! If you want to go to schools with amazing scholarships.

Parents of young little girls you do not want your child to go to this school, why because you have to pay $500 for the basic amount of uniforms you need for a week. Also the rule for uniforms is so strict that when it got cold like really cold we as student were not allowed to wear a jacket but the teachers were really warm I can tell you that.now all I have been talking about are the uniforms but now it’s time to tell you about the teacher sleep and students. The teachers they don’t teach you really in history he gave us a coloring page every day and when we told another teacher they said you should be thankful you don’t have to do actual work that would be great but that’s setting us up for failure when we have to take the final doesn’t....It did that’s why almost everyone had to find another way to pass the 6th grade.oh and he left 2nd quarter, history wasn’t the only class setting us 6th graders up for failure math class went Through three different teachers the 1st only taught us about ratios like that was the only thing that was going to be on our final or FSA the second teacher was ok we went through 2 modules the third one she skipped a module gave us a computer to replace that module we were confused and she blamed us for not understanding and then she did Tutoring but when we asked her for help she said you should’ve learned that from the videos I thought this was tutoring you’re supposed to help me because I don’t understand but you’re going to blame me for asking for help when you’re a tutoring teacher....because that makes senseSo yeah don’t send you sweet little girl to this school

I gave Waverly 5 stars because my child excelled this past year. She kept a positive attitude and worked very hard all year. She did have complaints concerning certain teachers, but mostly she just studied hard. Her state test scores continued to improve during the year.I found that most of the teachers gave a lot of themselves when it came to the students. They were eager to help any child who needed the help and WHO SHOWED THEY WANTED THE HELP!!! Not all children who need help will allow someone to reach out and help them. ATTITUDE IS 50% OF BEING SUCCESSFUL. Some people say it is more, some people say it is less. You cannot help or teach someone with a terrible attitude who makes it clear he or she does not want the help. My child had a great attitude and she reached out and the teachers eagerly reached back and gave her the help, encouragement, and advice she needed. There was a lot of turnover in the staff during the second and third nine weeks. I found the replacements that came in to be better educators than the ones that left the school. I was very sad to see A. Ruffin and Ms. Roundtree go.The only real problem I had during the year with the school was that the teachers were not given the power or control over the kids behavior. My child reported terrible behavior in most of the classes and the teachers had to just put up with it for the most part. During the third and fourth nine weeks there was a shift in the staffing in the office and it was at that time that I saw the bad apples causing all the disturbance FINALLY being put out of the school. Luckily my child did not get involved with too many of the kids and was not distracted behavior wise by these students. She was although distracted educationally because the students were over talking the teachers, who had no power to stop it.YES, there was a lot of emphasis put on the girls uniform. YES, they were expected to be dressed appropriately each day. I didnt see the problem with this that other people had. My other children had been enrolled in Catholic Private Schools and they were just as strict about the correctness of the uniforms. Also there is a sweater available for purchase with the uniforms for the girls to wear during school if they felt they were cold in any classroom. Ive always had to purchase uniforms for my children to wear, I did not find the cost any different than what I had paid in previous years. The 8th grade trip did get changed. The reason for the change was due to the financial stress it would put on so many families. They chose the Wild Adventures Park because it was more financially affordable than going to New York or Atlanta as had previously been discussed. I was really disappointed but understood the reasoning. The Graduation Cotillion was definitely over and above. It was a dreamy night that the girls will always remember. The girls were beautifully adorned and put on a great performance. The food was excellent. I was a little disappointed that some people showed up to a formal event in jeans and a shirt, or shorts and flip flops. It really showed disrespect for the girls and for the school, as all correspondence on the event said FORMAL, Suit or Tux for men, Tea length dress or Floor length gown for women. What part of that was not easy to understand. When my child started at Waverly. I schooled her daily to not get involved with the other students and their drama and to keep focused on the end game......Good grades, a fun year, graduation, and moving on. I told her not to make friends because she was there for an education, not for socializing. She had her church friends and family and did just fine. If your child has a good attitude, can ignore other kids drama, can keep herself focused on her education and making the most out of the year, then she will do well at Waverly. The teachers will expand her horizons in writing, push her to do well and to do more under pressure of deadlines for turning in assignments, and give her the confidence to succeed!

I wanted to give this school 0 stars. I went to this school for 2 months then decided to change schools DO NOT SEND YOU CHILD HERE! its an all girl school so why do you have Male teachers ? that is strange. Over 3 teachers have left this school and 1 of them Mrs.Ruffin now works at my school even the principal has chosen to leave this horrible school by the way I hope this school shuts down it is just out of control there are less than 130 students attending that school and no more than 15 teachers and staffs . I now attend Lake Shore Middle in the 6th grade and it is 100000% better it has there ups and downs but they are amazing in gist do not send your baby GIRL here.-Taylor Angelo I forgot to say that all we did was color in History for Mr.Adams in Creative writing etc... also the uniforms do not get me started a tie?! I had to were knee high socks with button down shirts with the logo short skirts. The very last thing I am going to say is A girl who i have chosen not say their name was being rude and i reported it to the dean and the Dean did nothing besides make her say sorry and then called my parent and said what this girl did and my parent said she is getting bullied and the Dean said NO! she is not Bulling is something that continues on and on then the Dean aka Mrs.Roundtree asked has this been happining I said no then she got back on the phone acting like she knows everything that is all i am going to waist my time on right now bye :/ _ Taylor Angelo ps dont be fooled

Unbelievable year for my child. They are terribly disorganized, teachers do not communicate, principal will not return phone calls, its dank, dark and hot in the school, very dreary atmosphere. One teacher in particular litterally bullied my daughter making her dread school. I signed a permission slip to take my daughter to Universal Studios, they took her to Islands of Adventure instead. Hate.This.School.

I have been here for 2 years and about 4 months and we are treated like prisoners Some of the teachers are amazing but there are some that scream at you and tell you to shut up.Literally i feel bullied by certain teachers. Not all some are innocent and deserve to be loved by the students others sometime s you just wish would get fired .The school is so unorganized,You have no idea literally the other day the office staff came at 8:06 they were late to work. The pretend like they are about the students and they really dont.Nothing ever gets done in waverly .people dont agree on things. Its just absurd and horrible. Dont be fooled by the orientation i was to. They make everything seem wonderful and Perfect. But once a few months of school have passed that is when it starts.Students fighting, Gossip,Drama everything you can imagine.Even to go to the bathroom during class you have to go to the office and sign a pass and go to a certain one because one time they found girls doing stuff in the bathroom. Literally this is a chick koop. Everyone is running wild .I made the mistake of attending there because i had no other option. Please with all my honesty dont go there if you really wanna make it to schools like Paxon and Stanton or just good schools. The teachers honestly dont care. For expetion of teachers like Ms.Wakefield and The goodells. If your reading this and their not there i feel bad for you.
