Geoff is fantastic! He helped me organized a woman’s self defense class on short notice. He gave us a great mix of skills, tools and techniques. We all left feeling way more confident than we did when we walked in. Would recommend that every woman take a class with Geoff for their safety.

I love KTMA. My daughter has improved in many aspects of her life due to the discipline that she has developed at the studio. They treat the parents and children with respect and kindness. I drive from the far side of Norfolk(28 mins) to attend because its worth it.

I have been training in the martial arts for almost 40 years and I have met many teachers in the industry from many different styles and backgrounds. Master C is a trustworthy role model with skill and integrity in the martial arts and I recommend his classes and academy to all who may find it possible to attend.

I have called 4 times and emailed 3 times asking for Master Cielo to call me back. @ weeks later and nothing. On the 5th call i am finally told that he will not call me back unless I make an appointment. I pay $150 per month for my granddaughter to attend and I cant get a phone call?

I took the class through TCC a few years ago and I loved it. Master C is awesome and really makes you feel welcome.I’ve been wanting to get back into it for a while now but haven’t had the time! I highly recommend them. My nephews are currently enrolled and they love it too!

Aside from martial arts and physical development, King Tiger is teaching my son invaluable life skills in a positive, fun filled environment. Positive, upbeat, and highly inspirational, my son comes out of these classes with a huge smile on his face. The lead instructor, Master C and his staff have a great curriculum ready for any age. Our boys started at King Tiger Martial Arts just about 1 year ago. They have gained confidence, discipline and they are working on their focus. I love that they can work on their forms together! King Tiger helped me survive deployment. I have really enjoyed getting to know the parents and have grown from our friendships. We appreciate Master Cielo, the instructors and staff for their passion to work with our kids. In my opinion, it does take a village to raise a kid and I am glad we chose King Tiger!

At king tiger you learn self discipline and how to protect yourself.I just want to thank Master Cielo for helping me achieve all my goals in higher.Now because of him I got my first degree black belt in a matter of 6 years.

I took my son and did not have a good experience. I just had to find another Matial Arts for my 3 year old son.

Both my sons who are 11 and 9 years old have been going to Master Cielo since they were 4 and 5 years old. He has become a huge part of our family and has also helped in their personal development. I highly recommend him!

We had a birthday party here Saturday it was great the Demo team played games with the guests and did a performance all i had to do was provide the food and dishes. Easiest party yet 😄

King Tiger Martial Arts is considered to be home away from home. My twin sons known as the Q brothers love it there and have been there for almost 10 years. Master Cielo and all the staff are amazing. This is not just a martial arts school, it is a small family community. We met Master Cielo at an event with the Virginia Beach Public schools where he was teaching about anti-bullying and what steps to take to prevent and/or get out of a bullying situation for kids. He is an amazing and inspirational teacher. The programs he teaches falls inline with our family values and the core values that all children should be learning. He not only teaches them martial arts, he reinforces good citizenship and education. His programs include self discipline, healthy habits, book reading, and practice that are all requirements signed off by parents to a certain level before the next belt test can be taken. On top of everything that is being taught we have fun in the classes also. Family events, small friendly competitions, and a parents group to help it be a full family experience.

I have only been a student at King Tiger Martial Arts since May 2018. When I started that journey, I weighed 365. In just 2 months, I am down to 338.9, very flexible and stronger. I only wish I found it sooner!

When my son started at 3 years old he was extremely shy and would not speak to anyone. Our second visit there another little girl that was shy and did not speak like him was there, the instructor told her not to worry that they would help her find her voice that was hiding inside. With that my son said he was going to find his hiding voice. He has grown in social skills, and independence and has made many life long friendships.My son also has severe asthma and other medical issues that require a restricted diet that is atypical to his age group. They have helped with developing exercise plans, deep breathing exercises that have helped him with conditioning. The habits/skills that he has learned on leadership has helped him to make good choices in relation to his diet but also will be a voice of reason and encouragement when its needed. The students are taught respect for each other, and to lift up their team. They cheer the loudest for the weakest voice, and as a team they conquer the challenges put forth together.

BEWARE OF CONTRACTI thought it was rude people were attending the free classes and never returning but after we signed a contract we were not allowed to cancel so I see why and suggest you do free classes and quit also. My daughter was 4 when we signed up. After 6 months she lost interest and were told we would still have to pay anyways. Is this how you earn your money? Not very respectable. Forcing me to pay for a childs classes she will not be receiving? Im going to pay and your going to keep your karma. We started homeschooling in Sept. I also opened a 2nd company and began school myself. We simply did not have the extra time or energy and this company did not respect that. Im a contractor now and let me tell you as someone who writes contracts for a living this is wrong. This is what I consider sheisty and sneaky and I have no respect for a company who hides behind fancy wording and cannot handle real situations with common decency. Horrible customer service. Will take your money and then they just dont care because its all about the money apparently. Good luck with that

My son Isaiah went to King Tiger from the time he was about 7 until he was 12 years old. He loved every minute of learning all that Master C and the instructors taught him, from the life lessons to the demos, competitions, spring picnics etc. We unfortunately were transferred to Japan for 3 yrs and he had to take a break. But every time we come back to Va Beach for a visit he HAS to go to the studio so that he can feel like he is still a part of the KTMA family. We love and miss KTMA!! We hope Master C opens a studio out here in Texas. :-)

My daughter has trained at King Tiger Martial Arts for many years. During this time she developed leadership skills, learned self defense, and responsibility through character development. In addition to the classes, KTMA holds other events throughout the year. This gave us a chance to form relationships with the staff and other students and families. We consider them family!

My school had an amazing experience with Mr. Cielo! He was patient with us and understood some of our younger students would get a little antsy. Although we had more students than expected, he still agreed to work with us and managed the large group like a champ!

My oldest son, who is now 18, went to KTMA for 4 years, and became a junior black belt. My young son, who is now 6, just started KTMA in March and looking forward to another wonderful experience. The owner is patient with all ages but firm when he needs to be. Great school and well recommended .

I have been enjoying training in tai chi at King Tiger for several months. Master Cielo is a wonderful instructor. He instills kindness and discipline in kids and inspires determination and grounding with adults. I have not had the opportunity to work with other the other instructors but the staff is friendly and the environment welcoming. I am grateful for KMTA - a sanctuary in this hectic life!

My grandson loves KTMA and has made many friends there. I like how they work with him on his discipline and focus. Each belt level has a form and goals to achieve. The goals focus on everyday life skills that he learns how to utilize not only while at KTMA but, also at school and home. He is in the Leadership program which reinforces the goals/lifeskills that he is learning while developing his overall social skills to become a good citizen in life.

After some searching around the Virginia Beach area for a Martial Arts Dojo my oldest daughter and I came across King Tiger Martial Arts. We decided to sign up. It’s been 9 months and I could not be more pleased with the results. My daughter has struggled with social anxiety since her early years in Elementary school. We started with the free two weeks of instruction, which we both attended. After my two weeks was up, my daughter continued training. Her growth was immediately apparent. The confidence instilled by Master C and the other instructors was apparent very early on, and my daughter began to brighten up again. Her attitude began to shift away from the negative and her behavior while generally good became better. She focuses better on tasks, keeps her eyes open, and stays aware of her self. She smiles and laughs in class with the other students. Her social behavior has also seen vast improvements. Where she used to be timid, she now speaks up. Where she used to shy away, she now faces with dignity. For the first time in many years I see a young woman with determination and focus. I absolutely without doubt recommend King Tiger Martial Arts. Their dedication to your self improvement is apparent from day one through your last. I have had much training throughout my life, but I plan on returning to KTMA in the future for some of their alternate classes such as knife and pistol self defense and retention classes, SaberX class, and will always remember what they have done for my daughter. I have attended Tai Chi classes with my husband since January. He has lost 20 pounds and my energy level, mood and flexibility are notably better! Master Cielo is knowledgable and fun to learn from. All the staff are friendly and helpful!

My 8 year old daughter has been attending King Tiger Martial Arts for over a year now. She originally won 5 free classes. I though what the heck, lets try it and see how it goes. I just knew that she was not going to like it because she would not like all the discipline that was needed. Needless to say she loved it and we are still there now. She is always pushing herself to do her best and is always wanting to go to class. The instructors, staff, students and parents are all wonderful! You feel that you are part of a family there. My daughter has a goal set for herself now. She wants to be a part of their Demo Team. She is doing extra activities and things to get herself ready. Never in my life did I think Tae Kwon Do would be a part of our family lives. Now we feel lost when we are not there! He confidence and self esteem have just grown so much! They even have a character development program for the children. It reinforces daily chores, healthy eating, good deeds, practicing and reading. They earn stripes for their belts with each section they complete. Then the ones with the highest stripes get recognized during the belt ceremony. We would highly recommend King Tiger to anyone!

There are no words I have that could describe the difference that Master Cielo and KTMA made on me and on my life. When I was a kid, lost and confused and burdened by life, I came to know KMTA and found some sort of semblance and peace. When I was a teenager, full of myself and pretensious, I struggled and was reminded of that peace by Master Cielo, and was humbled. OMG! Best place ever! The training, diacipline, and education you receive is beyond what I have ever expected. I have watch my kids and myself grow mentally and physically due to the personally development. My work ethic, focus, energy, and committment to tasks even outside the studio has improved. Ive been a member of KTMA for about 2yrs now. I absolutely love it. Ive learned alot and still leaning alot. I would recommend Ktma to anyone who is serious about learning martial arts and becoming physically fit.

We were originally introduced to King Tiger when the instructor came to my daughters school. He had all the kids excited and interested in learning all the cool karate moves he knew. We received his promotion card for a two week free trial. I jumped on the opportunity and got all of my daughters friends to take advantage as well. The trial was supposed to be four classes 30 minutes long. When we started, the instructor was seemingly dedicated in teaching his students about respect, learning to speak Korean, and responsibility. We loved the way he was all about being involved. By the end of their second class, the instructor hyped the kids up by saying they could earn their white belts next class and all it would take would be for them to count to 5 in Korean and know a few other words in Korean. Classes were Tuesdays and Thursdays and he wanted us to come in on That Saturday to test the kids. Very strange. Theyd only been to one other class and all of a sudden theyre ready for a white belt? Well all the parents decided to show up for testing. The instructor left the kids and told some of his black belts (who had to be no older than 8) to test our kids. We were dumb founded and confused. It was very unprofessional. After each kid passed the test, our group was told to wait for the instructor. He got us all together with the kids and asked our opinions about what we liked most about his class and if the kids were excited to join. Then he went down the line and asked us all what we did for a living (to see if we could afford his classes?) then small chit chat about his past. We were close to filling out paper work until we realized we hadnt even had our full two weeks yet. We found a groupon for added classes and we were told hed put that towards our bill instead of giving us four more days and a uniform. We waited to fill the paper work and decided to take the last class. When we got there, the instructor treated all the kids with disrespect, didnt acknowledge us nor the children but simply told us we had to go to a different room. In that room, the lady at the front desk was in there trying to teach the baby class. She demanded no respect (the whole time prior you had to say yes maam or no maam) and she seemed like she just didnt care about the accuracy of technique the kids were doing. I was very upset and disgusted with how we were all treated. From the time we walked in on our last day to the time we walked out, we were ignored 100 percent. It all seemed like a big sham anyways. The reviews up here are deceiving. People, do research before you waste your time.

I got into KTMA 10 months ago. Now I am Green belt and the most improved student 😄. I thought it was just an physical (or athletic) activity that Im just not interested but no, it changed my life!!!! 😛

My son started at KTMA at age 11 and continued until age 18, when other life responsibilities intruded. My wife and i still come back to visit as the students, their parents and the staff are more like family than friends and business associates.KTMA excels at character development as well as sport and higher level competition/self defense. Each individual student has their own unique strengths and weaknesses. Master Cielo trains for overall growth and excellence but also allows the student to leverage their own strengths in pursuit of this excellence.We had students winning at national martial arts competitions and students that never competed outside the studio. The student is allowed to grow and excel at their own rate. The number of KTMA students that went on to perform exceptionally at music, academics, sports, dance, and other areas is simply astonishing. We thought a lot of overachievers went to KTMA. After 3 years we realized KTMA produces a lot of overachievers.If you are considering martial arts for your child I highly encourage you to try KTMA to see if it is a good fit for your family.
