There is something so special about this school. We fell in love with the place from the moment we first walked in. My son has been taking piano lessons for two years now with his instructor, Henry, who he says is the most patient person in the world! Union City Music and Dance Academy truly makes it feel like a family atmosphere. You feel as if youre arriving at your favorite relatives home with every visit. We feel blessed to be a part of their team.

UCMDA is excellent! The Director is friendly, kind and compassionate. My daughter is 5. Her piano instructor is patient, and knows how to keep her engaged. The transition from in-person to virtual was difficult at first, however my daughter is more excited than ever. I highly recommend :)

This is an absolute amazing academy on so many levels. Your child will be in great hands. Every person representing the Academy is great- no exceptions. They truly invest in every child. My child is in dance, piano and singing classes. She loves it!

Although the experience was a little short due to our current situation; my daughter loved her piano lessons. Everyone is very professional, the space is well kept and organized. We really can’t wait to go back when the time is okay.

We enrolled our 5 year old daughter Maya for piano lesson in Union City Music & Dance Academy, which began in person with Mr. Anthony, who is a very patient and supportive teacher. While of course in person instruction is best, we switched to online after the covid-19 shelter in place started, and have been very happy with the results. In fact, I started learning guitar myself with Mr. Anthony immediately after Mayas piano less, and have a lot of fun doing so (it took a pandemic to get me to finally play the guitar Ive had for a very long time). Overall, UCMDA has a very friendly and inviting atmosphere and Ive really glad we found them.

Family owned and oriented with professional teachers that are committed to provide high quality education in the arts. A warm and safe environment that fosters a great sense of community. Highly recommended!

This music school is a joy for our kids!!! The place is clean and neat, the stuff is very friendly. Our kids taking a piano lessons and we would like to ad some dance classes eventually. Their piano teacher Mr. Henry is very professional and patient teacher, children enjoying every class !

After months of searching for a great music school, I am thrilled to have my children and UCMDA. The teachers are excellent and put the learner first. The owner is lovely and understands the plight of a working parent. My children have grown so much since they started.

My daughter is in Tiny Tots and loves her teacher and the team. My daughter was extremely shy starting at first, but has built some confidence and looks forward to her class. We appreciate the patience the teachers have with each of kids. They take their time to show them the correct form and also make it fun for them to learn. Its a small school, but family oriented and everyone feels welcomed.

We have had the best experience the past 2 years. Everyone at the school is amazing, treat everyone like family. I love that they teach the students about other cultures and are always thinking outside the box. Its not only about a dance routine but having the kids learn something and experience different things.

My little one loves her class and teachers. This small but a wonderful studio. It is an wonderful experience so far.

We hired UCMDA for our Hispanic Heritage event. Maday and her team were amazing! Their ability to get our rather shy group up and learning how to do some dance steps was awesome. Everyone was raving about them, we cannot wait until our next event to have them come!!

Great location and very lovely and clean studio, more importantly, the teachers there are professional and care for their students. I had an opportunity to listen to their music students to play, and they all did a wonderful job performing, meaning that there must be great teaching behind these students. While talking to the teachers there, they showed passions and spoke positively about their students and their musical goals. This is a place where you can trust for sure.

My three girls love this academy! They study dance and piano. And, two are part of the dance team. My children have been to several dance schools, and this one is, by far, the best! We feel like we are part of a new family. They know all the children and parents by name. The dance and music teachers are very talented and caring toward all the children. I cant say enough about how happy I am with Union City Music & Dance! I definitely recommend this academy!

My daughter has been attending dance at the school since 2012. Each year I see improvements in not only her dancing but her personal interactions with others. The students are taught to work as a team and no child gets left behind. The moment we walk through the door we are greeted by warm smiles from the staff. My daughter loves her teachers and her classmates. The staff makes us feel like we are family. I couldnt recommend this school enough.

I can’t say enough about this school! It is run professionally, our piano instructor (Henry) is excellent, he really connects with my 6 year old, inspires him to want to learn and does a great job of delivering the lesson material so that my son soaks it up quickly. In less than 6 months my son is reading sheet music and can play with both hands simultaneously and is excited to go for his lessons. What more could we want?

My 3 kids (1 boy/ 2 girls) have been a part of the Union City Music & Dance Academy for about 3 years. Although the space is not huge, the talented owner accommodates schedules, times and space very efficiently. It is a very family oriented environment where all my children feel accepted, loved, motivated and special. My kids are always enthusiastic to attend their classes on time and I have to threaten them when classes are over because they never want to leave the academy. I’m happy that my kids are thrilled about UCM&D and that they view it as their second home.

The family that runs this organization has a wonderful mix of being warm and serious at the same time. I feel like they take the individual needs of each child into account and help them grow with good support and expectations. I feel very lucky to have them in our community and I credit them with much of the growth I see in my daughter. I credit them with much of the growth I see in my daughter.

This is more than just a Music and Dance Academy. It is a home for students of all ages and ability levels. I have seen first hand the impact UCMD has had on the lives of young people and cant wait to see the success coming in the future!

Union City Music & Dance is a very special place. I moderated a panel for an event there. The space was decorated beautifully, and the dancers & musicians put on incredible performances. This place is super special. They care a great deal about children and music. They have taught our son the love of the piano. We are thankful for our experience and extended family in the music works with Union city music.

My son is very shy with a speech impairment. Mr. Henry understood his personality and communication challenges right away. He is patient with my son and has made his piano classes enjoyable. I tear up when I see how much enthusiasm my son has when he plays the piano! Super proud mom! I also love how Maday provides quality enrichment of the arts to all kinds of families in an inner city town.

This school has my vote for being 1 of the best schools in Hudson County. My son has been attending their program since their inception and coming from other music and arts schools, UCMD is one of the best. I like their professionalism, methodology and friendliness. They always have creative programs and really focus on their students. One on one and small group classes only means the teacher and student sessions are maximized. I usually dont write reviews but for UCMD its well merited.

I love it here. It is cool, and amazing, it has been a good experience. Best time of my life!

I got 2 appointments with this place and each time they were mistaken about time. And no teacher was there. Very disappointing! I dont know how they can run a school if they can not organize a date.The location is a basement in an old house, no air circulation.

Honestly, I do not understand the opinions of some people, because if my daughter attended any academy whatever it was and complained to me about something, I would simply talk first with the owners or even with the teacher and if she is not happy with the answers, I will the girl, always talking, having a communication, always in front, so that the children are not affected in these adult conflicts.And in reference to how much the academy has changed my daughter, I just have to say that it has been something incredible, in every way. For us it has been a total blessing, her life has changed for the better, she is a more sharing girl. communicative and in the sense of dance it has been something incredible. In fact, if it were up to us parents, she were taking more classes at the academy, since the progress she has made in her life for the better is so much that we are happier every day.And if we are going to talk about the heat and the familiarity that one feels there in the academy, it is something very long to explain and I can only summarize it in a few words. It is an incredible academy, full of love and family warmth for those children and also for their parents.In short, it is an incredible academy and only those of us who are there can feel that. Union City Music and Dance is not just a music academy, it is a second home for all children where they will find love, security and a family. My daughter has only been at this school for a year and I can assure you that I was not wrong in selecting this site full of the best professionals in music, art and dance. My girl started studying piano and only one month before this years show decided to dance salsa. I confess that I had some doubts about the results but to my great surprise this time was enough for her to dance and be part of a choreography. All this is possible because at UCMD our children also learn to feel safe from them, are highly motivated and teach them not to set limits, everything is possible. My family does not have to thank all the love, dedication and talent that every day all these people involved in the operation of this wonderful school have for our daughter and each of the children who attend here. Congratulations to all the little artists who were in this recently staged masterpiece and we call it a show. I say masterpiece because only a majestic and infinitely creative mind like that of director Maday Martinez and her team and collaborators composed of her father, mom and grandmother plus the teachers could perform a musical work worthy of being shown on Broadway and I full of pride that these little artists as I said before are our children who looked GREAT. Thank you all so much for your dedication and talent, for your love and wisdom, for being educators and humans at the same time. I thank God for choosing them.

I think that in this academy my children have found a second home in addition to exploring different artistic manifestations with the help of their magnificent teachers and their staff. They have developed concepts such as responsibility, teamwork, self-esteem, perseverance to prove to themselves the ability they have to carry out their own dreams.

Very nice words but it was my daughter who was affected and I wish I could gather the other parents who lived the same thing, what I lived a little over a year ago has not forgotten me neither, of course they treat everyone as a family because choose who you want to work with, who like you and fit in your world, the rest they do aside and that is not teaching, all children have different abilities and character and with that you have to know how to work not discriminate because they dance less or more, I also wish you the best and thank you that everything has happened in time, thank God I will not have dancer qualities according to its director but has an extraordinary talent on the piano that thanks to Yadel who was also a victim of you continues to improve day with day
