However, with persistence and encouragement from his amazing coaches and team, my son has made a complete 180. He loves learning new skills and looks forward to going. I am very happy with the learning my son Pedro G. got while in his vacations here in the USA in the Torres Jiu Jitsu. The whole team has been outstanding both on the Jiu Jitsu practice and on the way my family has been treated. The experience has been fantastic and quite challenging at the same time, because Pedro didn’t expect to find this level of training. In the best of ways, I got more than I bargained for when I signed my son up for this gym. Not only does Torres Jiu Jitsu provide a great structured physical outlet for my child, but they also emphasize the importance of being a respectful human, reading, eating healthy, and being accountable for your actions on the mat and at home.I enjoyed my time there so much that I did something I NEVER would have imagined myself doing...I signed up for a class myself. Being the softie that I am, I wasn’t sure I would last long, but I wanted to give it a shot (I was thinking maybe I would earn some cool points with my kid). One month later, and I am so grateful that I made that choice. The culture of the gym is very welcoming. I have met some really cool people, and I now have a hobby that makes me feel empowered.Side note: There are actually several females at this gym!If you are reading this review because you were considering trying this place out, I would highly recommend you do.

I’ve been attending classes here along with my son and daughter and after 4months I decided to leave a review. I had my doubts when a friend of mine recommended this gym,as I have my doubts about any place though. I showed up to a class and it blew my mind how everyone bonds and gels so well together here. My son felt welcomed and got to hang out with peers his age as I trained too. Very safe environment and welcoming. All walks of life come here to train and it feels like a second home. I actually got hurt with a rib injury (it happens)and I still couldn’t help but come watch the classes because it’s just truly enjoyable to be a part of the community that is Torres Jiujitsu! Would recommend for all to come check out this gym!

Man. On May 18, 2021 I went in to a trial class at 6. I was going to invite my whole family of four to be trained by Mike Torres, but I went in that day for myself to check it out myself. It seemed imperative to sign a monthly contract before I could train on my trial day.Before the end of my trial class, we were doing routine take downs. Instructed by Mike Torres. I sparred with many other of my peers and things were amazing. It wasn’t until I was positioned with Mike Torres the owner- where seconds into our routine take down- he DEFENDED my take down and I heard a loud pop. I was in excruciating pain. He asked if I could move it and I said no. He told me to get off the mat. I proceeded to vomit because of the pain. I was utterly embarrassed and shocked. His wife Maggie came to ask if I was okay. I nodded yes because I didn’t want to scream for an ambulance. She asked if I needed help to my vehicle. I responded with no because of my embarrassment. I limped to my truck to have my knee continually pop in an out. I had no stability. I got in my truck and screamed at the top of my lungs thinking my leg was broke but all I could think about were my kids and I wouldn’t be able to take care of my two children.I’m just in utter belief that after you popped my knee out of socket (which I have never had a knee injury! Thanks for the bum knee!) you had the audacity to charge me $325 for the whole month!! You didn’t even call to check to see if my leg was a okay. You could have called to see if I was even interested in your gym considering it was my first day and you the owner are the one that defended my take down and left me with a dislocated knee cap and torn ligament. I just wanted the money back to pay for my MRI.These reviews stating that you care so much for your customers didn’t apply to me. You could have cared less. I came back less that 24 hours after the incident and all you can say is I’m sorry that happened. No it should have been I’m sorry I did that to you. Here is your money back- I hope you get better.Thank you for teaching me about morals. About your family ran business. And how pathetic it is that your honorable craft is being ruined by someone who’s getting burned out. I pray no one else gets hurt like I did. But this was some real bs.

This place is amazing for children classes, adult classes and the whole family. We have been attending classes here consistently since December 19. My four kids have each grown so much more confident, showing more discipline and respect throughout, and they have so much fun at every class. He really has a passion to teach jiu jitsu. He is so great with the children classes, and they learn life lessons that transcend jiu jitsu skills. We went to a couple other places to vet the options around us, and hands down this place has proved to be the best!

Amazing school! Their fundamentals class really emphasizes the importance of well, fundamentals and the importance of self defense! Really good school to join if youre looking for a friendly place to better your health, make new friends and learn to defend yourself! Thank you Professor for welcoming me!

Our son and daughter have been attending Torres Jiu Jitsu since last Fall. We tried out two other studios before trying this one and hands down, Coach Mike has the perfect balance of being fun and appealing to kids while demanding and teaching respect and discipline! My husband and I occasional attend the adult classes as well and are very pleased with the skills taught and the rapport between students. If you’re looking for a family friendly gym and an out of the box fitness experience, Torres Jiu Jitsu is your place!

This is a great gym! I signed my kids up over a year ago and they not only enjoyed it but they have grown so much in many different ways! I recently started the adult classes and I wish I did it sooner!! It teaches physical and mental strategies that can help with daily challenges and builds character and confidence along the way! They are awesome and patient people!!

Great place to feel like a member of a team and build individual values/skills. Professor Mike pays good individual attention and seems to be right there to help at the exact moment you need, yet not a moment too soon. I would recommend this place to anybody and everybody (male/female, younger/older). My own children will be here one day!

I’ve known Coach Mike for a while now and he runs a phenomenal program. He’s extremely knowledgeable and caters to your likes and needs. The only bad thing about this place is that there’s only one location.

Great place to train!

Coach Torres has a delivery and explanation or breakdown of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu for both sport and self defense matters. His eloquent and precise choice of words to explain his movement and understanding of the mechanics and functions is black belt level when it comes to coaching and teaching. Look forward to gaining a lot of wisdom as he’s a mentor on my path.

I have worked, and trained with Mr Torres. Top notch instructor with the ability to communicate to all learning styles regardless of age. But most important he is a outstanding person out of the academy as well. He is a Us Army Veteran who taught Jiujitsu to military personnel.

I had the pleasure to train with Mike for 2 and half years. He is one of the most talented Jiujitsu practitioners I have ever came across.
