I emailed this school asking about availability for my 2 year old. They said they did have availability and scheduled for me to come in for a tour. The same woman at the front desk was kind and willing to accommodate my work hours. She then connected me with a man who is in charge of the financial aspect. Even though the woman assured me that there was availability this man said there was nothing until January. He also said that they would never accommodate my work hours of Wednesday-Friday because they couldnt fill space on Monday and Tuesday because no one works those days. I showed him the email I received saying the exact opposite of what he told me and he said theres nothing I can do about it now I dont know why youre still here you already voiced your opinion I cant help you please leave! He raised his voice at me and was very disrespectful. He refused to let me talk and totally invalidated me. I would never bring my child to a place where someone that hostile is employed.

The Goddard School is fantastic. My son is learning so much and truly loves going to school every day. Their programs are fun, educational and they really involve parents in the every day goings on in the classroom!

We enrolled our child around 13 months ago. The school allows parents to drop in whenever (pre-pandemic) or phone in to check on them, which was comforting during the adjustment period.A daily report is provided electronically via an app that includes so many details about their day, including all food consumed and diaper changes made with the time completed, as well as nap times and duration. It also includes the weekly activity the class was doing, great for practicing at home. We were surprised when our child began signing and saying words in Spanish that were being taught at the school.Often times, we received photos through the day via the app, probably our favorite thing.Outdoor time is provided at least twice a day, the teachers dress the kids appropriately for the weather. This was really important for us, and they have an awesome outdoor space. They do a lot of art with the children, there was always a pile for us to take home. We even received a ceramic hand print ornament for Christmas (not an easy task). They celebrate holidays with little parties, so adorable and fun.Snacks are provided, lunches come from home, which was a good option for our family.Overall, we felt that the staff really cared about our child and our family and are thankful that he was able to attend the Goddard school.

I was worried about enrolling my son in Daycare for so many reasons. I was worried about covid and my son was very isolated and I didn’t feel he did great with strangers but he is really happy in Daycare, and he has shown so much growth developmentally. I love his teacher and I feel all my concerns and questions are always addressed properly

Owner of this school is cruel and enjoys belittling potential employees. I would never want my child going somewhere run by someone so calloused and mean spirited. an actual applying teacher was toldWith your credentials I would at most pay you 15$ hourly, you dont even seem worth paying that much. No one in portland would consider hiring you with this resume. Im not sorry

Our son has attended this location since he was 3 months old and overall we highly recommend their program! We feel very fortunate that they have continued to stay open during COVID and with more rigorous health protocols our son hasnt even had a runny nose or been sick in months. As new parents the staff has been very helpful with the many transitions that occur the first year. Ms. Tara in particular is a treasure! We love the Tadpoles app to communicate with the staff (especially since we cant enter the classroom at this time) as well as the daily photo updates.

Love the Goddard School and their teachers! It is such a positive environment for our son who is learning and growing so quickly. He loves it at school and we are so thankful we chose Goddard.

Our son has been going to the Goddard School since he was 3 months old. In that time he has been supported, loved, and cared for by all of the wonderful teachers at the School. He still smiles and hugs his very first teacher from when he was an infant whenever he sees her. During the past two years we have been constantly impressed by everything our son has learned while going to the Goddard School (like suddenly signing the abc’s when singing the alphabet song). If you are looking for a safe and loving place for your child, this is it!

We LOVE Goddard. The staff and faculty are so great, we really feel they care about our children. The pictures throughout the day are wonderful and we love the art projects they bring home. My 2 year old loves showing me the yoga poses she’s learned “mommy SNAKE! And hisssss” and I feel they are really getting a quality education while they’re there. She’s constantly showing me new shapes, numbers, and words in Spanish she’s learned. The Goddard “learn through play” curriculum makes both me, and my kids, very happy.I also appreciate how CLEAN the school is. It’s bright, and colorful, and warm and cheerful . I’ve never seen anything in need of repair, or felt anything looked unsafe. Our daughter has a nut allergy and I feel secure knowing she goes to a nut-free school.They are also so communicative. They do a great job keeping us up to date with any changes, or welcoming of new staff or fun events like their summer carnivals. (Obviously skipped this year.) I know I can call the director and even the owner at any time, with any concerns.We love this school.

Our sons development has sky rocketed since hes been at The Goddard School especially in vocabulary, sign language, and interest in reading. I enjoy the daily photos and updates... makes it easier to be away from your child knowing he is having fun at daycare. The school is well structured and committed to the established rules for safety and cleanliness. Our young son hasnt brought home single infection in the 3 months weve been there! In addition to the teachers, the directors and owner are very involved with the children and committed to their well-being evident by keeping me updated on my sons development and cute things hes done that day. Two thumbs up.

Our daughter (toddler) has been at the Goddard School, Johns Landing for 11 months and we can’t say enough good things about this amazing daycare! She is excited to go to school every morning and is all smiles when we pick her up at the end of the day. The teachers, director and owner are extremely patient, nurturing and loving. We especially love Ms. Ruby and Ms. Holly! The curriculum is well thought out, with a theme for every week. We have been amazed by our daughter’s learning & development progress over the past year. Through the play based education, the children participate in daily art projects, dance, yoga, activities for gross/fine motor skills, math, vocabulary, emotional/behavioral and so much more. The school uses an app to send parents a daily report that includes photos, videos, nap information, food, diapers/potty and a detailed list of the entire curriculum and activities. The facility is extremely safe, secure, and clean. The kids get plenty of fresh air and outside time in the covered playground area. Thank you Goddard School, Johns Landing for giving us peace of mind and for showing our daughter so much love!

We have had a tremendous experience at Goddard. Every single staff member knows and engages with my kids. My oldest child (4) has excelled with his art, coordination, ability to ‘mellow’ into an activity and to better play with lots of kids. My little one (2 1/2) has off the charts vocabulary and is very well adjusted to listening to others, participating, and so much more. It’s a good sign that they both practically leap out of the car to go in the morning and sometimes dread when I pick them up because they were ‘still working’. We will miss Goddard but am so happy for the time we spent with them. They greatly impacted our kiddos.

This is such a great place for kids. My little boy loves it and is excited to go every day, which is such a comfort for this working mom. Staff is caring and supportive. I love all the fun activities they do with the kids - so creative.

This is a really great daycare/pre-school facility. The location is really convenient for me and theres always a place to park in the parking lot, which means I can safely bring my child into school without needing to parallel park and cross the street with a small child. The teachers are very attentive and seem to really enjoy working with children. Im very fortunate to be able to come and visit every day so I feel like I know the staff and the kids. Its also comforting to be able to pop in whenever I want and see how the daycare is run. I can say from personal experience that the Goddard School staff is very attentive to the children. They are also very good at: sanitizing toys, keeping to the diaper change/feeding schedules, granting breaks to their employees while maintaining the legal teacher/child ratio, coming up with age-appropriate activities, art projects, spending time outside, etc. Theres also an app where the teachers log feeding, diaper changes, and naps as well as take pictures throughout the day. Another benefit of this location is that it recently opened so it is very clean with all new toys, rugs, equipment, etc. My child loves her daycare teachers and friends. Five stars!

We had a very, very bad experience with another childcare facility and scared us. We were hesitant to bring our 2yr old to another childcare but Goddard was highly recommended. We expressed our concern and told them about our horrible experience from another place. The staff made us feel safe in leaving our son in their hands. All the staff are friendly, fun and love for our precious children. Their number one concern is the safety and health of the children. We chose them because they have a great educational program. My husband and I are very happy to have our children at the Goddard School. We highly recommend them.

Our daughter started attending The Goddard School in early 2018. The school is great and she loves going to school each morning. Aside from her friends, she talks nonstop about how much she loves her teacher, Ms. Maddie. The school is very clean, structured, and intentional on what they teach. They send a daily report that includes photos and achievements related to learning development goals.

Our 5 year old daughter has been attending the Goddard School full time since May, and I can’t say enough great things about it. My daughter is excited to go to school every morning, and is not only having fun, but learning constantly as well. The school is spotlessly clean, safety is the top priority and every teacher I’ve met is kind, patient and dedicated to the kids. The Owner and Directors are very involved and great with the kiddos as well. Each activity of the day has an intention behind it, and parents get a daily report so you know what your child is learning about. I find daily reports are wonderful tools for engaging with my daughter and helping continue her learning at home. My family is very thankful to be part of the Goddard School!!

We have been at the Goddard School in Johns landing since October 2018 when our son was six months. We have been very pleased with the care he has received. All of the teachers are very caring and you can tell they enjoy being with the kids. Cholan, the owner is very involved and responsive. Our son really enjoys attending school and gets excited to go, and sometimes doesnt want to leave, which tells us he is very happy. They do a great job with fun learning activities and we feel ultimately the school has helped with his development. I would recommend, and have recommended the Goddard School to friends and family.

My 2-year old daughter has been going to this daycare from early 2018. This is her first time going to daycare and we were anxious about how she would adjust. But, within less than a week, she adjusted and indeed is happy to go to daycare everyday. Everyone that works here seems very engaged and enjoy what they do. The whole facility is very clean, secure, and the class rooms are laid out very thoughtfully to meet child safety requirements and appealing to toddlers. My kid loves all the activities that she gets to do there- painting, music, outdoor play, and book reading to name a few. She loves her friends and teachers there, especially Ms. Ruby. She is bilingual and has not had much english vocabulary before going to Goddard and now she is on par with other kids. We are moving out from the area this August and are sad that she would miss her friends/teachers here and certainly, we would miss this place that we greatly trust for our child-care. Id strongly recommend this place to anyone looking for a high-quality day care. Youd not be disappointed.

Great daycare/school for my 2yr old! We’ve been members of the Goddard School for several months now and couldn’t be happier. Our kiddo has thrived and grown so much in such a short amount of time. He’s always been a bit shy but the teachers and faculty have helped him open up so much! Not to mention they’ve helped improved his word vocabulary, scentence length and fine lmotor skills. They’re also working hard on getting him fully potty trained. He’s surrounded by great kids and made many friends. Along with a great learning environment, I’m amazed at how clean the facilities are...I’ve never been more impressed!All staff are super friendly and everyone is on afirst-name basis.Definitely come see this place for yourself!

The staff are caring and considerate and my daughter (2 yrs) has so much fun at her school. All in all it has been a great experience.

My 18 month old has been enrolled at the Goddard School in Johns Landing since theye opened in 2017, and we could not be happier to have her there. The staff is wonderful and genuinely care about the kids, and the curriculum is fantastic. She has learned so much and loves to be there every day, I couldnt think of a better place for her to go.

Our little Niklas joined the Goddard School in Portland when he was 4 months. In the last year, Niklas has learned how to talk (spoken and sign language which the team teaches), walk, crawl, walk and run. He has become a loving, and cutie pie little one that loves reading and interacting with others. The Goddard team has been without doubt instrumental to his social, cognitive and physical development. We are very sad to be moving back home to Europe but very thankful to have had the opportunity to meet such wonderful and caring team.

We enrolled our son in The Goddard School when he was 3 months old. As new parents, finding the right daycare for him was our top priority and we spent months carefully planning, researching and touring different places in Portland. So many options! In the end, we chose The Goddard School for the curriculum and their infant program. I was like many moms on their first day dropping off their newborn - scared but hopeful. Over the next four months, we have come to see The Goddard School as an important and invaluable part of our village. Our son lights up when he sees his teachers every morning. They genuinely love him and are partners to us in guiding his development. Every baby is different, and their staff understand that and meet each child where they’re at in their growth. Our son is very active and mobile - he’s been trying to stand since he was just a few weeks old and was trying to crawl before he could sit. I shared my concerns with his teacher and she immediately started working with him through play. Within a week or two, he was sitting up on his own. This is one of many examples of their attentiveness to him. My husband and I have also learned in speaking to friends with children that this daycare’s practices are above and beyond the norm. For example, we were warned about daycare germs and were told the whole family would be sick all the time in the baby’s first year. The good news is that hasn’t been our experience. Parents and guests are required to wear surgical style booties over their shoes upon entering the infant room. The teachers wear gloves when feeding the infants. They clean everything thoroughly every day and if a baby seems unwell, they send them home so as not to get the other babies sick. As a result, our son has been a healthy little guy and we credit The Goddard School for their hard work in keeping their environment clean and sanitary. Another special perk of having our son enrolled at Goddard School is the Tadpoles app. We receive detailed end-of-day reports that let us take a peak into his day from his diaper changes, feedings, naps and photos of him playing and doing different activities. We also get to see what those activities were and how to play at home - as a new parent, I have learned so much. The teachers are sweet, patient and treat every family equally. They laugh with us and tell us funny stories about the baby, and listen to our fears and concerns. My parting thought is this - daycares have a stigma attached to them. New parents know the horror stories that exist out there and we were determined to find a place where our son would be happy and safe. The Goddard School in John’s Landing is more than a daycare, it’s a school - a place of learning - and we are just so glad that we found them!

We took our 12 week old son here for one month while we waited for a different daycare closer to our home to open up. For short term, we put up with an hour commute to this daycare but longer term, the drive wasnt sustainable for us. Everyone knew it was a short term situation but the staff and teachers were still very welcoming to our family, never making us feel awkward or like we didnt belong.At first, we were nervous to leave our baby but our worry faded quickly after seeing the highly experienced and kind hearted teachers adhere to the Goddard School safety procedures. Our son was so happy to see Miss CeCe each morning, it made leaving him a bit easier. Also, the Tadpoles app kept us updated with photos throughout the day so that we always felt included. The app also provided a daily summary of activities that was great to have as a reference of everything he did each day (meals, naps, bathroom plus notes about the activities, lullibies and sign language).I highly recommend this school; we definitely miss the teachers and the care we had grown to trust. If you live or work near this facility on Corbett avenue and have young children (or are having a baby soon), get signed up today!
