Not a bad experience here! I went for a Saturday open gym and the staff was pleasant and there were 5-10 other people in the gym. I have dropped in to many other open gyms around the country and some are good and some are NOT good. This one falls in the middle. First, I would say that things were messy. I am a member of a small gym, but the owner keeps things VERY tidy, so this is always my annoyance when rowers, bikes and weights are just sitting around in random places. Now dont get me wrong, it is not like the place is a train wreck, but simply just a bit untidy. The only other thing I didnt like is that they had the music so low you could barely hear it for the whole 2 hours of open gym. I get that it is not a class, but certainly it would be good to have some music at a reasonable level to listen to instead of almost dead quiet. On to good things, their equipment was plenty and in good shape. They had plenty of space for everyone to do their thing and the place was overall very clean (not to be confused with being untidy above). The staff members were very responsive via email prior to my visit, so overall I would say this was a positive experience.

I went to the gym for a free class. After the class I signed up with Izzy for a one month subscription, which they enticed me with at a discount. After a few months they gym charged my card for another month, which I didnt authorize. I tried calling the gym multiple times and sent an email, but no answer. So i had to cancel my credit card and call in a fraudulent charge, which was very annoying. Gym can scam you, be aware!!

ICE NYC is the most professional box i have ever been to. The coaches are very knowledgeable and the programming is on point. The space itself is beautiful and the bathrooms are spotless. The classes are not intimidating at all, in fact, i felt the exact opposite. The coaches create a family experience where as everyone participates at their own level. Great box and I highly recommend taking a class!

I found this gym through classpass, and it was described as a luxury crossfit gym. Honestly, it was decent, but it doesnt feel like a luxury gym. I went there during open gym hours when there arent classes going on and you can use the equipment on your own.Personality, I prefer working out on my own. Im not really one to do crossfit or group workouts usually. When you arrive at the gym, the door is locked and you have to call the manager to buzz you in. I think this gives The gym an element of safety which is important when there are so few people in the gym, but I still got a creepy vibe from it. The gym was very quiet when I went there. I think I only saw about 5 people walking around. Normally Id be happy about that but I was working out in the dimly lit basement alone. Most of the equipment are Assault bikes, and the rest are a few rowers and a Ski-erg and theyre in the basement. They have motion sensor lights, and I understand that those are better for the environment but I nearly panicked when the room suddenly went dark in the middle of my workout haha. I was using the Ski-erg and I guess it was too far away from the sensor for it to detect my movements. The locker room was pretty standard. You dont have to bring your own lock, as the lockers come with locks. The shower curtains were kinda moldy and there was some loose hair and rust around the soap and shampoo dispensers. Other than that, the locker room was clean.

Dropped in twice on my most recent visit to Manhattan, and I really enjoyed it. Nice space, and you can actually DROP WEIGHTS!! Which is a big deal for a Crossfit gym in Manhattan. Ian was a great coach, and the members were very welcoming.

WARNING- FRAUDULENT CHARGES!This gym is fine. I decided I wanted to try CrossFit,and this gym was close to my apartment so I decided to give it a try. I went for their new member special- 5 weeks. At the end of the 5 weeks, I decided that CrossFit wasnt my thing, and decided not to continue. I actually liked the coaches and thought the gym itself was nice. Fast forward to January, I realized my card was charged $337.67 for the month of December, and $337.67 for January. Not only were these charges MUCH greater than what was discussed previously, I had not been utilizing the gym at all this entire time.I decided to reach out to the owner, Izzy. I emailed him at the end of January as his associate recommended doing. The person on the phone told me, hes always on his email, he will get right back to you... crickets.I emailed him again on February 7th, and again on February 15th.... no response. At this point, I had called the gym a few times, as well just trying to get in touch with the owner, I think I left about 2 voicemails without any responses. So then last week, I called the gym, only to realize, my phone number had been blocked! This seemed so insanely crazy to me, I actually went to the gym physically and asked the receptionist if there was a problem with their phones, only to find out, it was true, Izzy blocked my number from calling.Today, a week later, I made another attempt to go to the gym because I knew Izzy was usually there on Wednesdays. When I arrived, there was a sign on the door to call him if you wanted to enter the gym. I called, told him my name, and he gave me the code to open the door, only, he made up a code that did not work. This man has gone to great lengths to NOT talk to me, when it wouldve been SO much easier for him to just have a quick conversation with me about the charges. At this point, I dont even care about the money, I care about the fact that this business owner has gone to great lengths to purposely ignore a customer. Do yourself a favor, and choose not to do business with someone who lacks enough respect, assertiveness, and confidence to have simple customer service interactions.

Great space, great coaches at both locations, and a warm, welcoming and encouraging community. Classes are challenging, but you can always (and I often do) scale to your level of ability and still feel like you accomplished something good. Ive always hated working out and CF is HARD for me, but the people and atmosphere keep me coming back 😉.

Went for my first time today and I loved it. I’m going to join after my vacation this week. It’s right by my house and trainers were friendly. I have been out of Crossfit for seven months due to surgery on my foot.. I didn’t feel the least bit intimidated. This box is super clean and accommodated to my situation.i can’t wait to join and go 5 days a week.

By far the greatest CrossFit box on the upper east side. The team is beyond supportive, the workouts are awesome, and the facilities are gorgeous. The coaches are really incredible individuals and I consider myself very lucky to be a part of the ICE family.

I was so scared to try CrossFit, and I tried Ice’s free intro class and was welcomed and taught how CrossFit is for everyone. I have since been a member for the past three months, I have gotten more confident and fitter. Ian Berger is an amazing coach and the whole community is so welcoming. Thank you Ice.

Pleaseee be careful going here! Theyre actually cruel- the quote that says, when people show you their true colors the first time, believe them.Just warning you- learn from my mistake. I barley write reviews (let alone bad ones- its just not worth my time.) But there are so many other ways to work out in NYC.

I was a drop-in and felt completely welcome at ICE UES. I had Ian as a coach for my class and picked up some great tips and tweaks on a movement that I have trouble with at this stage in my training. Highly recommend ICE!

My experience is great the owner, the trainers, even on the phone. Everyone is really nice and helpful. Am I really in nyc?CJ tought my intro class, my foundation and most of my sessions and it has been a great experience. He is able to customize the WOD individually n but still push each one to their limits. Its fun and light environment. Everyone is encouraging. Its just a nice place to be. Like you feel you want to just hang out there. They should open another on UWS :D
