Both of my children have been at 20 Pine since birth. They are light years ahead of their peers in other schooling environments and I attribute this entirely to Bright Horizons. The staff and teachers feel like family and involve us in every step of their day and education. I have always felt safe and confident sending our kids to school and they look forward to it exhausting and every day here. During and after the pandemic, 20 Pine went above and beyond to care for our kids, update us and ensure a smooth transition coming back. They saved us and out kids by opening the minute that they could and made the past year bearable and even joyful for families who were struggling with kids at home. I will always be grateful and look forward to more Bright Horizons years.

20 pine street refused to let my children enter because they changed opening hour from 7:30 to 9:30 at the very last minute without notifying parent ( apparently they have notified all parents but me if that’s true?) Despite having two staff at the premise, one teacher and one reception, they still refused to take in my children under the name of teacher student ratio potentially being breached. The reason my children were there in the first place was a mistake resulting from Bright Horizons failing to inform parents. As a result, I missed my meetings in the morning at work. I am shocked. There is really no human care or empathy. It is all about money making. Unacceptable.

After a rough start at another day care, we decided to enroll our 4 month old daughter at 20 Pine. We were really nervous to try another day care, especially one that required a commute from Brooklyn, but we are so happy that we decided to send our daughter here. From our initial visit to our meeting with her teacher, we knew that she would be in good hands.Jessica and her team are AMAZING at what they do. Everyone at 20 Pine knows my daughters name and they treat our entire family with warmth, compassion and professionalism. Working with babies is HARD and her teachers are incredibly patient, loving and interactive. They clearly love what they do and we have seen how much our daughter has grown in the few months that she has been there. We love the Bright Horizons app where we can get updates on what shes doing all day. You can get alerts when your baby has a bottle, wakes from a nap, etc. but more importantly you get photos of your child throughout the day. As a working mom, it makes me feel better knowing what shes doing while Im away. This is our first child and it was really hard to leave her to go back to work but it is such a relief to drop her off every day knowing that she is being cared for by such amazing people. Everyone from the teachers to the office manager to the director to the support staff here are wonderful. I cant recommend 20 Pine enough. I promise its worth the ferry/subway ride to Manhattan for other Brooklyn parents looking for a day care for their children.

We intended to start our journey with BH in September of 2020 but the pandemic happened and we held off for a few more months just to see how everything settled as daycare facilities started to open back up after the shut-down.We ended up starting our son when he was 10.5 months old in the infant room. As much as a new parent worries about their child, I really felt so comfortable knowing how safe and happy he was there. Every day, the app was updated with details on his feedings, sleep, diapers, activities, and even pictures of everything he was doing that day (which went a long way since parents are not allowed inside at this time for health and safety measures). I genuinely trust all the teachers to keep him safe, enrich his learning, and have fun doing it. I get regular check-ins with the teachers and the staff about his progress (which has been really incredible - Im almost upset we didnt start sooner!).When we transitioned him to the 1 yr old classroom, the infant teacher, the toddler teacher, AND the director of the center all met with us (virtually bc of Covid) to help us make a smooth transfer from one space to the next (which is kind of a big deal bc kids take naps on cots, they all keep the same schedule, theres different toys and activities, etc). I was so pleased with how much attention is given to my son and his learning and growth. Hes in a class with 8 total students now and 2-3 teachers at any given time. Every day the teachers plan different activities for students development - like yoga, art, songs, literacy, science, and probably more that Im forgetting! The teachers put in daily notes to us, letting us know if we need to bring more diapers or if someone had a little too much fun with the apple butter that it required a shirt change (haha!) - so we always feel in the loop even though we cant physically go into the center at this time. Also, I want to just mention their health and safety protocols bc its so important and they do an absolutely phenomenal job with this for a few reasons:1. They have a very efficient process utilizing their app to do the covid screening (do you have a fever, cough, have you travelled, etc) before you enter the facility2. Theres always a warm and happy greeter at the door (in head to toe PPE) who checks the screening form, then takes the temperature of both the child and the parent before the child is allowed entry3. All the staff wear masks (seen in all the photos posted in the app too!) and takes health and safety very seriously4. If there are any health (non-Covid) issues (like a scratch or head bump), they immediately call you to inform you of the incident (they always preface the call with he is okay, but... which I appreciate so I dont freak out) and then they present a report detailing the incident at pickup so everyone has a clear record. We really couldnt be happier having sent our son here - he has learned how to nap better, weaned off bottles way easier, learned all kinds of new skills, made friends and so much more all because of the wonderful teachers and staff at Bright Horizons! We thank you so much!

Words cannot express how thankful I am for the team at Bright Horizons at 20 Pine. My son has been enrolled since the age of 3 months, and as he now approaches age 5 and Kindergarten I truly have nothing but positive things to say about our experience. I fully believe that the happy, bright, curious and social boy my son has become is due to his tenure at the school. The staff, from leadership to every teacher we have encountered, is engaged, passionate and truly the best of the best. There was a brief period we tried another school closer to home and very quickly realized how superior Bright Horizons 20 Pine was, and quickly moved back! I can only hope we can find a similar level of engagement, care and overall quality in our sons Kindergarten school.

Many people comment how well behaved, verbal, and sweet our 3.5 year old is. After I say “thank you,” I then say all credit goes to his teachers at Bright Horizons. Our son has been going to BH 20 Pine since he was 5 months old. We love the curriculum; he has experienced yoga, STEM, reading, Spanish, soccer, art, cooking, and best of all, friendship. The kids have so much fun! We appreciate all of the partnering with the teachers and leadership team. And soon we will have our second son enrolled, and we look forward to experiencing all the milestones of Bright Horizons 20 Pine with him!

My toddler had a great experience at Bright Horizons at 20 Pine. We really appreciated the flexibility of the program, especially when many daycares can be very rigid. The quality of the teachers was also amazing - my daughter loved Miss Annie and she was friendly, loving and seemed to really know and care for my baby. The program director Jessica was also very helpful and responsive when I had any questions, and she was great about sending various activities and information to parents to create a collaborative and open community. I also loved receiving the daily updates with pictures of my child and the activities she engaged it. We had a wonderful experience with Bright Horizons at 20 pine and I would definitely recommend it to other families looking for wonderful care.

I can’t say enough great things about BH at 20 Pine. During our time there, I felt confident that my little one was really cared for in the infant room and then properly nurtured in the toddler room. I really liked how structured their days were and how every activity was born out of a curriculum that was clearly designed by educational experts. The Director, Jessica, is warm and welcoming and, at the same time, very focused on providing the best care and learning environment to all of the children. Our daughter’s teachers were so loving. It was really heartwarming to watch as she formed sweet bonds with many of them. Those teachers will always have a special place in our hearts.

Our son started coming to BH at 20 Pine since he was 4 months old. The dedicated care of the teachers and the variety of lessons spanning from art and music to yoga and soccer have us hooked! Our little one started crawling and walking thanks to his Infant teachers and now at Toddlers he is quickly learning language, feeds himself and plays with other kids. Most importantly for us is that we can see how much the staff and teachers truly care about the children and are passionate about their work. We feel very happy with our choice and recommend it to other parents out there! :)

My company offers backup care with Bright Horizon and I sent my baby girl here on and off when she was between 2-6 months old. My experience is pretty positive overall. The center is clean and the teachers are nice, helpful and enthusiastic. At the end of the day, I get a piece of paper detailing all the feeding, sleeping and diaper changes. Sometimes I also get a print out with photos of what they did that day. This center at 20 Pine Street is HUGE and almost always have availability for backup care. Once or twice a bottle cap gets misplaced but the teacher always managed to locate it the next morning. That said, parents should definitely label everything as much as possible. Another downside with a large center like this is that germs inevitably get passed around. My LO caught a cold once and constantly had either a runny nose or a cough through out the winter. The center cleans all the surfaces and all the toys everyday, though some of the boppy pillows could be cleaned more often...

We had a good experience at this Bright Horizons. It is pretty big and a lot of the rooms dont have windows, but the teachers are good and theres a good overall structure. It is a bit expensive, be prepared for that. I would recommend this place if you need child care.
