This school is very good the lesbian/ gay teachers and students is alright with me I go to this school now and its awesome. They got good spots for special needs and the best help for all students. Some people hate on this school because of the LGBT or the uniform, but to to be honest, thats them, the school uniform is that every school you go to you are required to where uniform unless you go to a school where you dont have yo. This school is ok with LGBT and if you dont like it bye its not bad just people send their ratchet kids to this school, but everything is all good and we just got a new principal, and its easy to make friends, just talk to the right people

This school is a joke.My daughter has been coming home stressed because one of her teacher outcast her. This teacher has numerous complaints against her and the faculty has yet to do anything about this teacher. The dean has even told my daughter to “calm” down because the teacher is known to start drama with every student. I have came to the school as a concerned parent and the front desk person told me no one from the administrators can’t speak with me because my daughter didn’t summit a complaint. Mind you my daughter is a straight A&B student that takes AP classes. Don’t send your students here! No other teacher has a problem with my daughter except her. I even told them I have proof that the teacher treats her horribly and they won’t even let me see the principal.

The staff is really nice. Very attentive. And the teachers are caring and teach really good. I would recommend it

Honestly this school sucks they care more about uniforms then the kids education. Some of the teachers are really rude to the kids and the Deans are quick to blame the students when its really the students defending them self. Most these 5 stars are from teachers at Poinciana.There favorite line to say to kids is... Im still getting pay if ya learn something or not.

I was so nervous sending my boys here but I have to say the principal is active and cares. Every week at the beginning and end he calls to inform parents on whats going on. Everyone is so quick to post bad things but this school had a lot of great qualities

Looking just at the numbers, PHS has the highest graduation rate, the most AP courses offered, and the highest college/military acceptance rate in Osceola County. The school has been rated a B for four years in a row, and the new administration has big plans for making a jump to an A in the next couple years. The campus is beautiful and the students are always smiling. Basketball seems to be the big sport here, and you can tell the gym was built for it with 3 full courts. It could use some basic renovations, as the main building is one of the oldest in the county (1991), but that should come in time as it is located in one of the fastest growing areas in the county.

Well from my previous negative comments I want to say that Phs has improved in a way graduation rates are getting higher then ever but yea phs is like any other high school with ups and downs and with good and bad students but what I will change is the lack of spirit this school has because of sports teams not winning enough games but although basketball is the best sport here but I wish it can be like other schools that win games but also I feel like teachers should participate more in school events although some are busy but the rules is another thing teachers and admin care more about uniforms and some teachers be mad extra with the use of cell phones although the student is doing their work and not causing any trouble but teachers should be strict with certain things but also be motivated and fun with the students since its high school but the students themselves ruin it but other then that I hope it improves years to come.

I feel as if administration is so worried about seeing down my shirt (miller) then if I graduate but when it comes down to graduation n I dont graduate then its my fault. Went by today and was very disorganized, the bus situation needs to get better and transport.

Poinciana High School has increasingly gotten better over the years but it has its pros and cons which I shall discuss.As we all know,Anything pertaining college readiness thats all Mr. Cook he is the greatest college counselor ever! Wether its getting ready for college, ranging from signing up for ACT/SAT, FAFSA, completing college applications to scholarships whatever you need, he is there to guide you every step of the way and ensure your future will be bright and successful.About the teachers . . . some care about your education and are willing to help beyond just the course they are teaching such as the AP, English, and some of the Math and Science department, while others could care less because they like making their students miserable on purpose or they claim the type of students in their class has an affect on that. As an adult your supposed to take initiative and show whos in control and whos not, but students shouldnt be disrespectful in the first place unless they find their education a joke and want to go nowhere in life and become a bum.They should dropout and not disrupt others from progressing forward.Now the school is rather an older structure, its main building is one of the oldest in Osceola County School District. Its not as appealing and there isnt really any pretty surroundings, everything is old, rusty and dirty. Needs major renovation and better landscaping as well as traffic system! The students are dirty asl they leave trash at the lunch tables or where ever expecting the janitors to clean up after them and the bathrooms are disgusting! Especially the female bathrooms. Makes me wonder that most of these students are disgusting and have no good hygiene, coming to the conclusion that their living environment is the same.Diversity here doesnt really existent half of the population are hispanics and the other half are african american. Theres barely a 4% of minority . That makes up Asians and West Indians.Parent involvement is mediocre not that much support compared to an elementary having parent involvement.Athletics are great! Except football and ladies flag football thats something that needs improvement. Basketball and Track & Field are very competitive. Volleyball, Baseball, Soccer and Softball are all equally good as well but just arent as supported which needs to change. Every sport should have equal support. Every sport offered here all have amazing tram support withing that division, but Poinciana should create a type of reward system to increase school spirit and not let one sport shame the other. And not no sucky reward system either something that will benefit the student at the end of the day.Saftey at the school is alright. They recently added gates to the front and by the gymnasium so there isnt no intruders. They lock gates after passing.A typical lunch day at Poinciana is regular school lunch sometimes it can be good sometimes its not. There has been a few cases where it has cause food poisoning so you might wanna watch out for that!For resources, I believe the school has enough resources as a young adult you would need to learn how to access those resources.As far as clubs and activites and the creative department of the school such as Art, Chorus, Band, Automotive, Construction and Culinary. Each individual department successfully executes an amazing job and their program will open up new chapters in life for you.One more thing about the administration they are very mixed and so emotional. At times they are laid back other times they can be strict as ever.One specific dean, Mr. Miller cares more about cracking down students for violating dress code and being late rather involved in student education. He admitted himself he looks forward to catching people and enjoys it.The principal and assistant principals are sort of antisocial when it comes to the student body which should change, they should try to connect to us more instead of seeing us just as a face. The schools administration cares more about your uniform than your education. Any type of defense for yourself is considered insubordination. The school lunch is heavily processed and tastes like air. I occasionally find hairs and other suspicious things in my food. The deans constitantly harrass me and my friends about what we wear. They throw me into ISS and waste my time that couldve been used IN CLASS productively. They put us in confined little sections and deny us even a wink of sleep and couldnt care less about what your concerns are while in ISS. Please do you and your children a favor by withdrawing from this school or not come AT ALL.

This school has not improve at all the staff here are very disrespectful if you need help many of them dont care about are learning rather then our behavior and dont bother going up to student services they will look at you with attitude if your child has a stiuation and they treat like if you are in elementary school with all of these unessesary rules and many teachers leave here their first year here and my math teacher does not know how to teach algebra and many parents have made compliants especially my mom and they still had not hire a new math teacher to replace him and one of the math coaches was my teacher for fsa testing and had a very nasty attitude with me and other students and she didnt let students in without a pass even tho their name is on the attendance sheet and yelled at them and kicked them out and slam the door on them what type of school is this i knew i should had not come here thinking it improve because is not do not send your child to poinciana high school it is the worst school in osceola county and ive lived in this county my whole life and them two need to improve this county since we are the smallest and give out more information and train the teachers better

The teachers are so pushed to teach how the county wants the the kids to learn. Yet I came from up North and we have never had EOC, or FCAT. All we have are Finals, Mid-Terms, and the obvious SAT,and ACT. I understand the state has all these new ideas but they are bad with their timing. As a Junior my testing hours are crazy, within the last month I have had to take SAT, ACT, Algebra 1 EOC, FCAT, and now I have and EOY in every class. In my English class we have spent all year trying to learn the curriculum for the FSA, and again at the last minute they changed it so we wasted a whole school year learning it. I stay after school regularly so I know the janitors clean, but our restrooms are very unsanitary. For the girls bathroom there are used sanitary napkins on the walls, lots of graffiti, the mirrors look like the fun house mirrors you look at at a carnival. Our administration is so caught up with trying to become an A school they seem to be setting a lot of other important things aside. THe food isnt great but i understand that thats not the schools fault, if not that many students had free or reduced lunch we might be able to have a decent lunch. The administration also doesnt allow students to eat on the picnic tables near the band and construction room. Most band kids sit with each other and they go to the band room during lunch to practice and we are not allowed to. The bathroom in the band and chorus hallway, students arent allowed to use because non band kids have snuck back there and smoked weed in the bathrooms thus not allowing any student to use the bathroom. Sad enough to say but band kids actually dont like missing class, and for them to walk to the other side of the school just to use the bathroom isnt fair. Ive been in multiple after school activities and they all are not well founded. There are no uniforms, no transportation to games/events, and no equipment. I also live in Poinciana, but why is it so hard to get to and from. I also drive past not one but two high schools on my way to school. Most of my teachers allow me to just sit on my phone and do nothing, and never take action on the misbehaved kids. The schools priorities are so messed up, maybe if the focused on the student life rather than how we look to the community.

Ah, well tbh I go to Poincianna high as a freshmen, its not bad its better than what i thought the teacher are very helpful and kind and poliet the students on the other hand are something else but learning wise the school is very helpful and amazing and i wouldnt mind spending my senior, junior or sohpnmore year at poincianna . Im pleased with my school and i truly believe that we will soar for that A

To be honest, this school is utter trash, the gay/lesbian teachers and students are one out of the three thing that make this school lively, the other two are construction class and talking to my friends, other than that, the food tastes awful at times, elective classes are being shut down one by one, and the most enjoyable class aside from construction is digital video production, this school is not worth it, if you do attend this school, make friends fast and avoid the deans, they get on you about every little thing you wear, even hats, you might hide a weapon in your hat, yeah, if you got the endurance of a raging bull, they even bother you and make you unzip your hoodie, even when its blistering cold, just stay away from this school, and if your older and got kids, dont send them here.

My children are there and it is an excellent school. Very good teachers and sports especially super spacious. My children thank God with excellent academic grades.
