I went to Lake Shore four years ago and my younger brother currently goes there. From my experience theres nothing wrong with the school based on teachers and the curriculum. The only problem I ever had with the school was some of the students, but I guess all schools have a few bad seeds. Overall, Lake Shore is a decent school. Theres really nothing to worry about when considering if you want your child to attend.

This school made me want to actually die. The students were the most horrible people I have ever worked with and Im luck any high school in the state even considered giving me advanced classes after the catastrophe of what they call their teaching staff. The electives were horrible and didnt do anything for me. I learned nearly nothing from the three years i was at that school besides how horrible my colleagues can be. While on campus i have witnessed at least a dozen fights and drug deals. A KID GOT ARRESTED FOR HAVING WEED ON HIM AT SCHOOL. I had two friends jumped by about 4 kids each and one got both of his arms broken. I could not recommend this school any less if i tried.I tried to give no stars because of how bad it is but the website wouldnt let me.Good luck to any current and future students. I hope you have a better experience than me.

As a parent we chose this school over the one our son was supposed to attend thinking it was a better option for him. I cant say that it is not because obviously he has not attended the other school but this school is not what we had hoped for. I have met a few of the teachers and they seemed nice, uniforms are great but the kids still ridicule other over shoes, politics, and what music others listen to. There have been numerous occasions where my son tells me about multiple fights in just one class. Not to mention when there is a substitute it sounds like all they do is sit there and the kids run around like a bunch of wild animals. I have witnessed students being very rude and disrespectful to the office staff members. I know there is only so much a school can do and most of this behavior should have been corrected a long time ago at home but it doesnt seem like the faculty has much control. This is our first year dealing with Duval County Schools and it is completely different than the schools our kids have been to in the past, and not in a good way.

My brother is going to go here because he made bad grades at his old school I am going to James weldon Johnson and the first picture that pops up when you search lakeshore is a picture of a ambulance in front of the school when I heard my brother is going there I dropped down and prayed please pray for my brother even from touring lakeshore than James weldon Johnson than I can tell people may kill my brother I repeat pray for my brother

I like this school!! it may have its ups and downs but us 6th graders get our work done when told. I love the teachers students and staff and duhh Mr.Gottbuerg he is like the best Principal and with him being it I bet we will became our big goal and B school.- 6th grader Taylor Angelo

This school has a bunch of homework so be wary but the school has great food compared to other schools in duval and if you go to jeb stuart take my word this school 100x better the teachers actually care what the students like and set up some small activities that dont require and if you get on Mr Lewitts good side youll get to watch movies in his class the whole day, hope someonell consider my opinion

I remember i went to this school when I was in 6th grade in 2005/2006 i was a Autistic Student and i took Autistic classes from 6th-8th and my favorite year was 6th and 7th grade we had Fun Fridays every week we do good in class we got snacks back then and every other day we had P:E or Life Skills when i went here back in 2005 breakfast was .75 cents and my lunch was a $1.25 from 2005-2008 i really missed this school i have kept a 4.0 G.P.A though out this school i also remember i rode the from here to home it was 1h and 30 mins long in my 6th and 8th grade year except my 7th grade was quicker i got home in just 20-30 mins my bus number was 847 i remember i was on a older bus back in 2005 it was a First Student bus than the following year we got a new bus it was Durham school bus ..but later in my 8th grade yr my mom would pick me up because of the long bus ride..this was a great school i did go to the library every Mondays in 8th grade to check out a book..and we would get on the computers ..

Hey i am a 6th grader at lakeshore an i think it alright we get a lot of home work and the teachers there are strict and dean camble he is nice but dont get an dat man bad side or you not gonna be happy with him

School has dramatically changed since I attended in my 6-8 grade years. It is unorganized and underperforming now

Went to this school back in the days it was alright I had Good days but also Bad days some of the students was so disrespectful and really not interested in learning . The students tried to give me a hard time but i prevailed my life has changed drastically and I accomplished everything I put my mind too . But now I see that Lake shore middle school is a Bully school And honestly it was a Bully school back in my days And nothing has happened yet . Its sad that a parent sends their child to school to learn and the student end up getting bullied for nothing Something has to change .

I am a sixth grader at somerset prep academy and these kids are bad here but the school says that the school is a B school and i am so ready to move schools because i mean i have so many headaches here mostly in my last period and i barely learn any thing here so i was doing some research and i want to go to lakeshore middle because i am so tired of this school

I do not recommend this school to parents with children who do not speak English, it is a disaster they do not care about helping the student, this was not the case with my son but I saw it because of that I do not recommend them, The staff is not committed to helping To the students I moved out of town because this county school system is very poor.
