My review is not to the school itself but certain staff members, just curious why my husband receives calls at the same time during Xmas break and after school hours like almost 7 pm more then 13 times per month. WHATS REALLY GOING ON?? And he receives personal messages about kid napped children in a different city, which no amber alert was issued ironically, he left out of town the next day. Anyone with a logical explanation as to why I dont get the same calls and messageattention???

It has its good and bad moments but overall the people here are fantastic and open and not afraid to be thereselves .There are no cliches or nothing like mean girls. The teachers her are like trail mix i guess... Some are sweet, some are salty and then some are just nuts! This is an amazing school and family to be a part of.

Do not expect a call back from an assistant principal, the teachers I truly believe are great teachers. It is sad that we cannot say the same about the leaders of the school that are suppose to handle important situations in a timely manner. A situation that was very important to me was addressed with me 3 weeks after the fact, broken promises not to mention the assistant principal referred to my son as another name multiple times. I agree with the other review maybe the assistant principal (that I dealt with) should do as what is expected from the students.

When asking a vice, or assistant principle any question, an answer needs to be given immediately and articulated well versus getting an answer of, “I don’t know, I have to check the rule book”. Do your homework like you expect your students to and learn this so-called rule book. You need to know this information inside and out. You need to respond without hesitation and stuttering, and without an “I don’t know, I have to check the rule book”.

Most of the teachers here truly care about each student they have. The TX public education system is pretty messed up, but everyone at AHS does what they can with what they can. I am an alumni, former teacher, and my kids will most likely graduate from there. It is a great school with great spirit.

I liked this school. People there were nice. Easy to make friends, if you open up a little bit. I graduated class of 13, and the teachers there were nice and so kind. Sure, everyone gets moody at point, but they are really nice. Even the security guards are nice (most of them). SMILE, SMILE, SMILE. We have a Special Needs program and the kids in it are soo kind. Only complaint is some kids walk slow in the hallways and everyone gets annoying by senior year. Lol but other than that I loved this school. (: Oh, also no bullying that I witnessed, just a few fights because kids fight over friendships and love or whatnot, but thats it and thats basically high school.

I wish the school was as good as it was afew yrs ago when my son went to it. The principal was fantastic!!!. It wasnt perfect, but it was better. Too many fights. Witnessed one out in the middle of the crosswalk as I was dropping off. I am told by many sources that it is very common to see two or three fights a day. With the new principle and Superintendent they have changed the face of Arlington High and not for the better. To much of wanting to have all schools the same in education ect...There is a reason why parents mpve to certain places. Anymore it is known for being a ghetto school not for its academics and leadership, not like Martian. The teachers are burned out and many of them are jaded by the students and administration not having their backs. I wish it would get better. If it werent for the parents getting involved the school would be hurting.

They made a huge mistake and failed to fix it or even acknowledge it. By counting the GPA too late, they gave the spot of salutatorian to the wrong person. They had the opportunity to fix it, but I guess they didnt want to draw attention to the fact that they messed up.

This school is why public school has a bad rep. only few teachers genuinely care about the education the students here get. the rest teach with no intention to better their education. all they care about is “teaching” the cirriculum so they don’t get fired. the rest of the staff (receptionists, etc.) are rude to students and parents alike. counselours (most) are like stone, simply entering and changing classes, with the goal of keeping their job. counselours were intended, yes, for keeping up with students’ schedules, but also for social/personal, academic, and career developement (something you will not find here). the students here are also lacking. they are disrespectful, loud, and academically impaired (not to mention that literally half of them are high at this moment). if you want your child to recieve a mediocre education and a dull mindset, please enroll today.

We just moved from Arlington High to Carrollton. My son used to be really down on AISD but now wishes he was back for so many reasons. If we can get him back to Arlington High we will. You have no idea what a Great school and District you have until you leave. 1). There is a long tradition of Great joy and pride with this school. The school my son goes to now when the students come out of school no one speaks to each other. No one smiles. Driving thru tbe pick up lane is like going to a funeral. 2). All or at least most of the feeder schools that feed into Arlington high you know yiu have learned something if you apply yourself. At the school my son is now in many of the students didnt know if the pyramids were still around or how to measure fluid in a beaker. 3). Arlington High is one of the few schools that as an IB. This is important if youre serious about college. 4). People at Arlington high are very friendly and excepting for the most part. Up in Carrollton, extremely rude if you are not from there. If you try to talk to people like during lunch they look at you like you have 3 heads. Arlington they will talk to you, there is a lively group participation in classes. I have had two other kids who have graduated from Arlington High. They were prepared to go into major universities. I admit that yes, there are things that need improving, but you have a jewel of a school if you treat it right. If parents volunteer and get involved in all levels. Many schools do not have that. My son is miserable and feeling like he is not learning anything. He has no one to talk to where as he had many friends. The classes were more challenging. This is a Good school.
