My son is a pre k4 student and I love this school. Such a great place for him to learn about the world around him in a diverse environment where he is learning another language!!

My experience started off very well at this school. My son first attended during the 2013-2014 school year in 2nd grade. I was very impressed. The mission, his teachers, the attention my son received; I was very satisfied. In my opinion, all of that drastically fell off as they moved into a new building and grew larger. As the staff multiplied the quality divided. Unfortunately none of those dividends worked in favor of my son. The teaching staff became too over worked and was unable to attend to my sons relatively simple academic needs (the school is equipped with an inclusion team but I guess since my son isnt a special needs case, his support wasnt that urgent to ANYONE). Its clear that though they emphasize bilingual education there is very little cultural competency among the staff (a teacher made some culturally insensitive remarks to me, I sent a simple email to leadership suggesting some training for the staff, not an apology, that was met with an apology from said teacher.....the training never happened and coincidentally the same teacher later made another culturally insensitive remark to me). To go along with that, very few people that work at the school even speak to me as I walk through the halls. I guess thats fine if thats the culture they strive for but the people at the front desk barely say anything to me when I walk in...and thats their job. I have some suspicions as to why that is but Ill keep that to myself. Based on my experience it seems that there is a lack of behavioral structure in place which breeds many avoidable behavioral incidents (many of which go unreported for some strange reason). My son doesnt cause any problems but is often victim to the consequences what seems to be lack of classroom management skills in many of his classes. Ive concluded that the leadership of the school is piss poor. I have never encountered a leader of any organization that avoids leading their staff when necessary. Its hard to blame the staff for anything knowing that they dont have any leadership that takes charge. This isnt to knock the whole school and this is just my own experience. Im sure there are many families at the school that are receiving great customer service and attention. I just wish that after attending for almost 3 years, I had that privilege.

I like MVPCS. Honestly it is a wonderful world where education and culture is built in English and Spanish. Students and Teachers maintain a pleasant educational environment with a policy of care and preservation of Nature.
