Why is my babys teacher having to pick between putting food on her familys table or being fired because she doesnt want to put a medication in her body!?? I got the shot most of my family got the shot. That was our choice. Why are you forcing someone out that dedicates their lives to the classroom. Teachers dont get paid enough already and now you putting this stress on them.

It’s impossible to get in contact with the Cap Tulsa Main office. My son goes to cap reed and they try to exclude him out every week. Every day I get a call while my son is at school. First it was because my son needed an inhaler so we pay $40 to get the inhaler then it was we need a 411 plan for his wheezing. We gave the school direct permission to contact the doctor and get the 411 plan. His school never contacted the doctor they lied and said they didn’t and told me it would take weeks for them to get the action plan back from the doctor so I had to take the action plan to the doctor myself. The doctor told me in his records the school never reached out to get the action plan which worries me. The principal Mr. Daniel doesn’t know anything really and lacks knowledge with what goes on and how the program operates. It’s so much miscommunication going on in the building and I’m honestly tired of it. I just want my son transferred from that school.

My children both went to CAP. My youngest is autistic(a child in need of help, the type they are supposed to be geared toward). After both children attending a year the following year my oldest went to regular school but my youngest stayed. I had a meeting with the school counselor about how much improvement my son had made. The following day I was called for another meeting where I was given 30 days to find somewhere else for him to go because he was too difficult. They dont care, helping is not their focus, and they dont watch the kids well. My son was ignored outside while he ate dirt. I was reported to DHS for injuries that occurred at school. If you have a child with special needs you need to take them somewhere else!

I absolutely love where I work. We were just rated #4 Best Non-profit to Work For out of large non-profits nationwide so I know Im not alone. CAP Tulsa has been a breath of fresh air when it comes to work-life balance. The mission of the organization really hits home with my heart. When you get to come to work everyday and help families and children succeed it is extremely rewarding. After I read reviews about CAP and their pay structure before working here I wasnt sure what to think. Ive found through my experience that they are very competitive and have a rich benefits program. They are extremely deserving of the national spotlight they consistently receive and I hope you check them out!

Very horrible enrollment service. I thought CAP was suppose to be helping families but Martha that works in the CAP administration office made it so difficult for me and my family to enroll. She was going by her own her personal judgement Instead of helping my family. I had to come back twice to bring a documentation but both times she denied taking any of my other documentation. I’ve renewed my application twice and I have always been able turn in my other paper work and just bring what ever document is left. She told me to bring a documentation and when I came in the second time she denied my documentation and didn’t want to further help me. I asked for a supervisor at this point and all she gave me was a form I had to fill out from a previous employer. She didn’t mention any of the things Martha had ask me to bring. I was very disappointed with her attitude and I knew she was judging our family based on our current living situation. I felt very disrespected and felt humiliated by her actions.

CAPs mission is helping families succeed. Theyre primarily known for their early childhood centers around Tulsa that help children in lower-income families achieve economic success. Its vision is to break the cycle of poverty. Their two-generation approach combines high quality education with innovative family services and resources. They offer programs to parents that increase their skills, employability and earning potential. CAP is nationally recognized as a model for this method.CAP is one of the largest anti-poverty agencies in Oklahoma. They believe every family and child deserves the same opportunity for success. They accomplish this by empowering low-income families with education, tools, support and guidance they need to break the cycle of poverty. As an employer, The Nonprofit Times named CAP as one of the “Best Places to Work” in 2016. This is the second consecutive year it has made the list. It ranked 19 overall and 3rd in the list of Large Nonprofits. I have worked here for half a year and I absolutely love it. The leadership is inspiring and receptive, the work environment is the best Ive ever had and the actual services we provide are invaluable in our community.

Blanca who is in charge of career planning is NOT helpful at all. She does NOT return calls. After calling for about a week and a half I was able to reach her and she is hateful. She will not offer any information or answer any questions regarding programs for parents to pursue a career. It is unrealistic to not offer an idea of a program for parents to plan and see if that is something they would be interested in. She rushed me off the phone and was extremely hateful. I was left really shocked at that type of behavior.

SO HORRIBLE. OMG, had to come back 4 times .Every time i come here the Mexican woman are so rude . i thought this was a place to help you enroll your children but these young simple minded girls love to judge the next person and there situation. The 2 woman i went to also laughed in my face when i told them my son was mixed with Hispanic and African american . I dont understand how that was funny but Overall my experience was OKAY because of the woman who interviewed me in a different room. she did everything she could to help me get through my process. Hopefully they make more early programs so i wont have to go back and show her whats funny AKIKIKIKIKIKIKI

Probably one of the worst places to work at in Tulsa and the office is located in a not-so-great part of town. I worried about parking my car in a spot where I couldnt watch it from time to time. The people in some departments are really nice and friendly, but not very knowledgeable (that goes for about every division). Pay is on the lower end of most places in Tulsa as well.

My experience with CAP was not that great. The interview was going good until I let them know that my son had Sensory Processing Disorder. Then all of a sudden it was Well we dont know when you will get a call . But the good news is, is that you dont have to renew your application till 2017. I asked if my son would even be considered now for the program and I was told Well its not easy for us to place kids like that.It was like a slap in the face . Im used to that from daycares and people in public, but I was not expecting it from CAP . I heard great things about it from other people, but there kids are not special needs and do not the extra help.My advice would be DO NOT tell them if your child is a delayed . Once they are in then you take in your paper work from the diagnoses. By law they have to have atleast 10% of the kids with special needs and IEPs .Cap if you really are here to help the community start by helping the families with special needs . Special needs children are just as important. They are part of the community, dont just spout off about helping and turn your back on the ones that need the help.I was fortunate to have Sooner Start help me get my son into a TPS program for 3 yr. Olds that are developmentally delayed. Say what you want about TPS they were the ones that lent me a hand and actually called me and set up a meeting with me . I was not shunned like I was at CAP .
