School administration isnt that good, that isnt to say the teachers are bad, because there are good ones, such as Ms. Watson. The administration can make a whole big thing quite easily without it being necessary. The teachers can also be pretty difficult to work with if you are falling behind because of added stress from COVID or from being sick.

Wonderful school!! We are very happy we ended up here. Only our first year but we have zero complaints.

Our kids have been a part of Sonoran Science Academy since 2008. We plan to have all of children graduate from high school at SSA. Our children receive a wide range of classes; not just math and science. They offer a variety of after school clubs, tutoring, and other extra curricular activities. We are especially pleased with how the teachers take a devoted interest in their students. Anytime one of our children has needed extra help, they have received one on one attention. The class sizes are limited, which allows for better teacher to student ratios and interactions. If youre looking for a school with family oriented environment, SSA is the best school for that!

Administration oversteps heavily and takes way too much action for minor disputes or issues, If you act hurt enough, their actions escalate and you can get someone in potentially serious trouble.

Overall education wise, the school can have some pretty smart teachers, but its not THAT good. However, the school is extremely left politically biased. Lots of the teachers are stuck-up and also push their own ideas. They also arent very good at helping get kids on track if they had been falling behind, they simply let them keep going down the wrong path as punishment. Ms. Watson is awesome though. There are also lots of kids that have drug problems (the drugs and stuff here are pretty bad). They also extremely overstep with the actions they take for disputes

At first I was happy with the school, it seemed as though the teachers and VP were willing to work with my daughter through her trouble and I was impressed. Then they started to isolate her, making her feel like she was lower than trash and they left her in a classroom all by herself (Which is illegal and morally wrong) I have told them many times I would come and observe as well as make her behave which they say is Against school policy Even though I found out my daughters friends mother had been able to go to the class. They singled us out so badly that I had to take my daughter out of the school Do not bring your child here, it is not worth them being bullied by teachers and such, or your kid learning how to bullies others.

The new dean of students is really obnoxious. The entire school is mostly ran by those of Turkish descent, so if you want to apply here, good luck getting in if you’re not Turkish.The school is an alternative to any other high school which is why many dropouts, druggies and people that have gotten expelled join Sonoran. Would absolutely not recommend!!

Its great. Id recommend it if your looking for a great school.

It is very good academically structured, however some of the teachers push their own ideas, but I still love it better than most schools out there.

This school is absolutely amazing! Every thing about it is wonderful! The teachers and staff are very nice, and they respect their students.

Okay guys dont listen to the bad comments listen to this okay first they are super strict about vaping and if they see and vape or smoke unless if it is for science fair the they will suspend you for coming in this school ever or any kind they could be pushy but in they end you will be so happy that you did that to them so listen to me take your child to this school and so is bullying they watch everything In the school with so many cameras to their studrnts safe the only places they dont put camers is Inside the stall and inside the locker rooms but you want to pack your kids lunch but only on Wednesdays it pizza and they will give you a sheet of what food they will give that day

Ironically my last review is missing. This is a great school academically but many of the teachers push political opinions on the students. Ive complained that this is not a place to push biased politics on children, yet it still is a problem. Politics and religion are meant for the home, not the opinion of one teacher.

Terrible for kindergarteners who need to move around a lot.

I recently tried to have my daughter get into this school as a young kindergartner and the Vice Principal was not friendly at all. My daughter is going to be 5 on October 4th and she is well above her age group as far as learning goes. So I was told that she should get in here at this school but when we met the Vice principal for her Kindergarten readiness test that was not the vibe I got form her. After my daughter completed the test she brought her out and just stood in front of us awkwardly as we waited to hear some kind of feed back. After a minute of silence she just says Okay, we will call you in a few days with her test score and immediately my husband said thats just because they dont want to say no to your face, and he was correct. I didnt even get a call from her she emailed me telling me my daughter wasnt ready for Kindergarten when even her doctor says she is. I didnt think that was very professional of her, I wouldve liked for her to talk to me on the spot whether it was a yes or no. I wouldve like to discuss with her what they expect from a kindergartner at this school, where I could improve, her impression of my daughter, what kind of things they tested her on, etc. but she said nothing and was very unfriendly. After seeing what the Vice Principal was like I wont even consider this school for my daughter next school year.

I’ve been coming to this school since freshman year, I’m now a sophomore. From a a high school student’s perspective, this school is extremely dangerous. I went to the bathroom and I was offered to vape by this group of girls. The administrator said it was okay to vape as long as you’re in the bathroom, which is why it’s been renamed to “juul room.” Dozens of students were expelled/suspended for the use of drugs ranging from weed to cocaine.The juul room is also famous for lines of cocaine to be snorted off the hand washing sinks

Ive been going here for a long time and it is really good i love this school just sometimes it gets hard but they have a lot of extra curricular classes

I took my kids to the day care, very loving nurturing and all about learning.

This is the BEST school ever!
