Their barbering program is a joke! The barbering teachers walk out on a regular basis and they go months without an instructor, other than their outdated, ancient cosmetologists who dont have a clue about barbering in the 21st Century. The tuition may be cheaper than Paul Mitchell but you obviously get what you dont pay for!

I had a great experience at royale college of beauty. Cody was my stylist. He did a great job especially since he is actually a barber. I was the first person hed ever used a straight iron on. He did a great job and he was very gentle and patient. Ive already recommended the place to my mom, and Ill definitely be back for more services.

To start off the new year, I brought my 84yrs young mom back to Royale College of Beauty to get her done, I picked her with a twinkle in her eye, again! My mother is a retired professional and university level instructor, who still likes to make a good impression. The head instructor here spent a great deal of time with the student that did my mothers hair a few months ago and again this time. Mom, being slightly nervous, watched as she coached and mentored the student to teach her about thinning fragile grey hair. She taught the student very important facts about perming and styling this type of hair. It looked very pretty when they were done. Moms comment my hair looks wonderful and the instructor is fantastic - she gives these kids confidence in their education and teaches them life skills on how to handle gentle customer ...

I called in this evening to get information about how to become a barber and the man who was giving me information was so stuck on if I had a GED OR HIGH SCHOOL diploma! I said, “ sir I’m not calling to get information on a GED OR HIGH SCHOOL! I’m not interested in that, I’m interested in starting your school “ also he said I needed to be a citizen of the United States... lol my accent is as white as it can get and he still questioned my citizenship... wow!

As a recent graduate I would highly recommend choosing Royale College of Beauty. I passed my State Board examination easily and so did all the other students that just graduated with me. Royale is much less expensive than Marinello or Paul Mitchell, It’s less fancy than those schools but the state board passing rates are much higher and seriously its a quarter of the tuition. It’s been one of the best experiences of my life and I’m sad it’s over!!!!

Im in the mens grooming business so Im in barbershops all the time, and my daughter and her friend are both going to this school right now. The teachers dont show the students anything, and at points students harass other students the management and teachers dont do anything to stop what is going on. It makes for a hostile environment. You would think, when a school is making $10,000 or more per student they would try there hardest to help the students to train for success in a enjoyable environment. I went in to get my haircut and watched the teacher do nothing but walk around looking confused.LOOK FOR ANOTHER PLACE TO GO TO SCHOOL, DO NOT USE THIS BARBER SCHOOL!

This place needs to practice better customer service...PERIOD!!!!!I scheduled an appt for a scalp treatment, deep conditioning, & flat iron via phone. I also let them know I have African American textured hair. The student who did my hair was a barbering student & said hed never done that service before...which was fine. Unfortunately, my flat ironed hair was NOT straight at all. It looked like I had only blow dried my hair!Even though my hair is now terribly matted, I do NOT fault the student who is obviously learning. I fault the staff working here. When I was scheduling my appt on the phone, NO ONE specified that they have barbering and cosmetology students. Because I obviously wouldnt have chosen someone specializing in barbering to FLAT IRON my hair. Regular cosmetology students already have a challenging enough time doing my hair. When I called the next day (because there was no one running the front desk to speak with), one of the instructors tried to put the responsibility on me...saying I should have specified who I wanted to do my hair.I repeatedly explained to her that I DO NOT WORK THERE, so I would have no idea what my options were unless they were presented to me! If someone wouldve simply said....we have barber AND cosmetology students performing flat iron services, which student would you prefer to do your service?...I wouldve NEVER chosen a barber student. It makes absolutely NO sense!Royale College of Beauty...please do better! It is utterly ridiculous that the person scheduling me didnt take that miniscule step to inform me of my options!

BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE!!!!!THIS SCHOOL IS HORRIBLE. DIRTY, WENT TO GET MY HAIR COLORED AND THEY DIDNT HAVE RUNNING HOT WATER. THE STUDENTS WERE USING PITCHERS OF WATER OVER MY HEAD TO RINSE AND WASH!!!! THE WHOLE ATMOSPHERE WAS TERRIBLE. THE INSTRUCTORS MRS. MARCUS AND MRS. MELODY WERE BEYOND RUDE TO MYSELF WHEN I ASKED WHY NO HOT WATER AND TREATED THE STUDENTS POORLY
