Hello all,I came to Blessed Beginnings from the Call of God about 6 months ago and will never regret the decision I have made. It was by chance that I met Pat the previous owner who saw something in me that she felt was valuable enough to add quality to the center. I was working for another center as their director and had just finished cleaning up the school along with my team of executive leaders, teachers and management staff. It took us 3 years to clean that center up and make it the quality center it is today. After much prayer, and a blessing from my boss, I made the decision to come over to Blessed Beginnings and make a difference by using the gifts God gave me, not worrying about the fact that I would have to give up my salary and work at a center with a challenging reputation to do this. The first few months were difficult without a salary but I continued to trust in God. Since being at Blessed Beginnings we have come such a long way but how many know that Rome was not built in a day? I have been tackling issues the same way you eat an elephant, one bite at a time. Each time an issue is released a few more may come through the door but it helps me to know more than ever that Blessed Beginnings is where I belong. Today I am still tackling blessed beginnings but the difference is now I am working full time for another organization that will eventually help add quality to Blessed Beginnings. I am also trying to finish up a Doctorate Degree in Early Childhood Education and teach for a few college programs. Since being here we have accomplished the following goals:Brand new playgroundBrand new roofBrand new air conditioningDonation of many toys and furnishingsCommunity clean up projectPartnering with various quality organizationsApproval of non-profit 501 (c) (3) statusAlthough we have accomplished all of that, there is still so much more that needs to be done;Replacement of ceiling tilesPainting to the interior and exteriorFull staff developmentFull program developmentPurchase of new curriculum and materialsOver the course of 6 months we have accomplished so much but have discovered so much that still needs to be done. This can create impatience and frustration to say the least among stakeholders like parents and staff who are so important to our organization. The one thing I can say is that the love for children is there and will never leave. The desire to do better is there and will grow forever. Help is needed as this will definitely take a village. This is a God led ministry that wants to do right in the community and develop programs to be a part of the solution and not the problems. Our true mission is that children in this community will have quality early childhood experiences. As the new Executive Director of this promising organization I proudly say that today we are at three stars in my opinion from the one star we were in when God placed me and Pat in each others lives. Her mere plea to me told me that she had the centers best interest at heart. She is there from open to close because she cares that much for the families we serve. We are praying and doing as much as possible to earn the next few stars bringing us up to five stars and becoming a center for all in this community to love. Again, I am thankful for all experiences be they positive or negative as this is a new journey for me and a different direction for Pat. I appreciate the learning that each experience has brought to my attention. To those who may have felt a negative experience with Blessed Beginnings, I truly apologize and hope that you would see fit to forgive us as we are on our learning journey. I am a huge believer in second chances which was the entire reason I left my comfortable position to come and help, because this center deserves a second chance. I am thankful to all who have come through the doors of Blessed Beginnings and for all of the prayers and support that we continue to receive. Please continue to pray for us.Sincerely,Denise Richardson, M.Ed.

This daycare is Definitely gonna be reported Im a DCF worker and I moved here from out of state and after 4 days realized the daycare was too far from my job and I advised Mrs Pat I would be transferring my kids because it was too far and would cause me to be late and since Im with the First Hug Program and homeless they found a daycare for me when I went to Mrs Pat with the transfer pappers she begged me to keep them there because they so called needed the children and in three weeks presented me with a $600 bill by email I showed my case manager Karen Black from First Hug it was a bunch of lies and money hungry people when I went to Mrs Pat showed her the contract and told her we had a verbal agreement that you wouldnt charge me and I kept my kids in here knowing I was going to transfers them to defeat the purpose of getting charged mind you the fees made no since when my bill $18 a week and I was late 5 - 10 min after so my case manager typed a letter for her to sign of our agreement that I was not supposed to be charged and she stated Denise had to sign it well never got it signed they so called lost it. Then she stated she would revise it and she knows iidont owe but 90 min for the three days prior to our agreement. Yet I still never got that bill now 3 months in Im in metropolitan and working two jobs and need to transfer them to the daycare on site n she prolonging it and not signing my transfer form stating Keisha gotta have the letter stating I will pay my balance which I still havent gotten and my recertification for ELC is soon to expire. I keep stating I need to speak with her and Denise its always excuses and shady stuff mind you employee already told me they pocket money from parents paying cash. I had two payments that wasnt credited for and I paid two dollars more every pay which I told them need to add in but if this dont get taken off Im going to the top on this daycare. We can go to court. Dont bring ya kids here
