LOVE this school, both my girls are students. The last couple years I have seen them grow with learning and compared to public schools they are advanced in every way. The teachers and staff every year are WONDERFUL. This school involves parents so you feel you are part of everything they do. Field trips, multi culture night, holiday concerts, Chick Fil a nights etc. The only thing I wish this school had is more parking.

It’s my girls first year there. So far so good. Car line goes smoothly. It was only bad the first two weeks of school. Their teachers/admin have been very good with communication and keeping in touch. I’m not sure if curriculum is up to par but it feels like my children are being challenged so far.

My son started going here for 5th grade and we are halfway through the year. Any issues here are about the same as any other school. Car line can be long if you wait until the last minute but they keep it moving as quickly and efficiently as possible. They seem to have lots of extra activities such as multicultural night and dances. The uniform is purchased from one store which can be a hassle but honestly its not that big of a deal. Students have the option of wearing a jacket or sweater which are about $20 to $30. They do have used items available for purchase in the schools office.I love that the principal sends out reminders, newsletters, and updates almost weekly. My sons teacher this year keeps in contact through an app however she also has provided us with her email and cell phone number if necessary. She has been very helpful and my son hasnt had any complaints.Office staff can be a little disorganized at times.

My child has been going to this school since Kinder. She loves her school but I as a parent desire a little more. One of the reasons why we originally enrolled was because Spanish was going to be one of the options that the kids would have. This year we were advised no Spanish. I have had other issues here and there but is is expected at any school. The principal turnover was a bit crazy too. Other than that I feel like my child is safe here and she loves her school and teachers.

This year Ive noticed a few teachers with exposed arm tattoos men and women. While I have nothing against tattoos, I do not feel the teachers should be exposing them to children in school. I feel its unprofessional and encouraging. The teachers should be required to cover them up. Ive also noticed the same few kids not wearing proper uniform bottoms.

My daughter has been going to this school for 2yrs going on 3... and for some reason my childs emergency contact was two total random strangers on her contacts and to top it off they had some one else as her legal guardian...🤔🤔🤔 and every year we update our info if it changes when they send home the form....since it seems like who ever puts in the info cant do it right...my wife had to do it online..and correct it....and dismissal is the worst line ever to get in...just 1 more year of torture for me on that pick up line...

My dd has been attending Henderson Hammock since January 2014 (3rd grade) which was the schools 3rd year being open. Since then weve seen lots of changes implemented that have helped the school as it has grown. For instance, drop off in the morning used to be a total nightmare, but it is so organized now a much easier process. Additionally, the curriculum includes college-prep for every grade, right down to kindergarten. Although they are bound by common core they teach above and beyond that which I feel is giving my daughter an advantage over typical public schools. We absolutely adore the staff there too. They are always helpful, respectful, and friendly.Henderson Hammock, keep up the great work!

My son has been at this school for 3 years now, hes never been late and Id never had a problem because we always followed their rules, by reading the reviews I can tell people that are not happy here is because they want to do whatever they want . The biggest complaint is the drop off in the morning I always get there by 7:30 and the car line runs very smooth, try to get up early and get there earlier.

This will never be the best school Ive been to. The teachers can really be mean, and usually people there are just jerks. Students can be some real butts, and the people they hire? They really get irritating after a week. I also feel the need to bring back Early release and dont forget FREE dress down, all this school wants from us is the money. FYI, only some teachers are actually good here. Such as, Ms. Petronio and more.

I am new to this school. Its only been in session about a week and a half. Education so far I would give a 5. Everything else is what made me deduct 1 star. The school only has one way in. The first week it was taking me 1-1 1/2 hours to drop and pickup my daughter and the school is 5 min. away from my home. I also understand that this is a charter school however there is no room for individuality. I am all for uniforms but I think the kids should be able to wear appropriate shoes and socks of any color. Also, there are alot of things you have to pay extra for and you have to buy their monogrammed uniforms from the one place in Tampa and its expensive in my opinion. I know its just the first week but these are things I wish I knew before hand in order to make a more informed decision.

Fantastic school! They don’t overload the children with homework which is a great plus. The teachers are very communicative! Anytime my child does good they let me know or if they are having some learning issues they let me know and it’s alwyss done in a caring manner. So happy we decided to changed schools when my daughter was in 2nd grade. She’s now in 7th and has been there from the first day of opening. Great school! - Kelli Renew

Not impressed whatsoever by this school. Unfriendliest staff I have ever met in my life and their uniform policy is beyond ridiculous. Im all for uniforms but my child wasnt allowed to participatein an activity because the shoe had a white Nike check on it. I complied (even though I already had) and had to go out and buy another pair of shoes. Also, I pay for early care and arrived 5 minutes before the scheduled time and was scolded (mind you it was 4 weeks into school and never had this been an issue, and there are children there as early as 6:30- I NEVER abused their system). Pulling my child out of that school, or should I say Nazi camp.

I attended this school for 4 wasted years of my life my mother didn’t want me to switch mid elementary back to my old school so unfortunately I was stuck there and yes my mother regretted her decision but don’t even get me started on this school parents if your looking at this school as on option DONT SEND YOUR CHILD TO THIS SCHOOL ITS HUMAN TORTURE!!! first of all it’s a blessing I’m privledged but for the not so fortunate children it’s gonna be difficult to attend this school ALL THEY WANT IS YOUR MONEY AND THEY DONT CARE ABOUT YOUR CHILD! it’s the cold dirty truth they just are thirsty for your money 💰 a jacket that is expensive as heck and doesn’t keep you warm and makes you itchy is price gouged it’s terrible and despicable the uniforms are overly priced to and no sponsoring is offered reality is not every body’s rich and that’s why children say sayonara to the school that’s only one reason the drama teachers rules and punishment/behavior system it OUTRAGEOUS your being threatened here and there by teachers if you want your child to stay a pure innocent sweet child sending them to this school will basically destroy that the drama mean girls mean mean boys don’t get me wrong you want your child to deal with there problems but this school crosses the line not to mention a teacher who had it out for me and had favorites and discriminated me and got me in trouble and threw a large accusation at me that I was a bully that got me in serious trouble for nothing I did this false accusation is just one on the many that have been committed this is how unfair and how wrong there justice system is immediately accusing a student of something with no proof it’s word against word yet her word was chose over mine there are cameras every where in the school why immediately was the situation just agreed on then trying to seek justice and see both sides of the story so that’s it in a nutshell and yes this teacher was ms.puckhaber so that’s just an example of how they handle problems here’s another story when a we had a substitute she wasn’t paying attention and a fellow student threw a sharp pencil at my other fellow classmate because the substitute didn’t care at all and wasn’t paying attention to us so I thought quickly got out of my seat and went to the substitute and she was on her phone playing candy crunch and put her phone away quickly so obviously she was preoccupied while a student got stabbed in they eye with a pencil she screamed at me and i was extremely sensitive back then and was very upset and basically cried the rest of the day so those are only a few stories of my experience at this school and no I’m not being dramatic this happened and this is only some of the things that happen at this school if there was a - million option for a review trust me I would pick it, and another thing there website fake as fake can be “we care about curriculum “ LIES “I took this job because I love kids “ LIES “ good environment for children “ TOTAL LIES

If there were such thing as a 0 star rating, id choose it. the teachers arent bad but the kids and their system is awful. making us do over 10 lessons (RP & TTM) a week?! thats so much work to be pressured on children, especially down our throats. i came here for fifth and left due to the bullying and came back and kids kept yelling at me for breathing. the uniform is awful, all the teachers hate it. we cant even express ourselves. thanks for changing the policy for nail polish and shoes. oh and screw you guys for making Shetter principal. shes rude. worse decision ever.

This school is okay. The teachers here are very nice... but there are worse things. I wish the school here emptied the whole car line instead a part of it. They said the child might be ran over if not seen. EXCUSE ME?! All you need is better surveilance! There uniform is ridiculous! Its so expensive and you cant even where your own clothing! Thanks for making us cold because your jacket is like $50! The staff is also mean. One slip up and its near or is detention. I came to this school ever since 5th grade. I wish I went back in time to the good days when there wasnt anything like this. So a lot of flaws but some nice things. I wish the car line was not as bad. I wish the uniform was not ridicoulusly expensive. Also, they should have lockers instead making us pain our backs! They also ban websites like Pandora and Soundcloud because of inappropriate words or actions. Let us listen to music god dang it! I can understand that Youtube is banned but its restricted by alot. I cant listen to some music because of Inappropriate comments. This school is okay, but has alot of flaws.

I am not happy with my experience @ HHCS. Where do I begin? Initially, I was beyond pleased with the school. There was recently a change in principals. I’m not sure if that is when everything changed, but things are a bit different. The CAR LINE has always been a BIG ISSUE. The school has tried different ways to speed up the process, but nothing has helped. I believe this is not a car line issue, but an over-crowded issue. The school opened with grades K-5, and now is K-8. I don’t think the car line will ever be resolved as long as the school is over populated. To make matters worse, every so often, the school decides to have a Krispy Kreme day, where parents can buy donuts in the morning’s car line. I understand this is fund-raising, but this is the worst time to try to pull this off. Traffic is always backed up on Linebaugh and Henderson.SCHOOL UNIFORM POLICY – I completely agree with school uniforms, however, this school discriminates who they are going to enforce the policy with. I have more than 1 child attending the school, however, only 1 of them is “harassed” when something is missing from their uniform (ex: if the child forgot to wear a black belt). This child has been threatened with detention, lunch clean up, and other things. I’ve noticed that is not the case across the board. As I have noticed that there is an extreme amount of kids not completely following the policy. The biggest issue seems to be the shoes. We were told the very first week our child had to get new sneakers. The all black sneakers with a thin white trim near the bottom were not acceptable. However, we are getting close to the end of the year, and I have seen dozens of children with very colorful (out of code) shoes. The school also demands that you buy a Henderson Hammock logo jacket, which is mandatory during winter months. Why are they so focused on jackets when the students take them off in the building? Why demand a parent to buy a specific jacket for their child? That should be the choice of the parent. What is the difference between mandatory jackets, but any style of back-pack? I personally prefer a heavier coat for my children, not their jacket.I honestly believe the school could be better if the staff were more concerned and focused on the more important issues – like academics.AFTER CARE – there are after care teachers that do not speak English well. This may not be the best position for teachers trying to help students with homework.CLASS ROOMS – Again, the school feels very crowded. The class rooms are the smallest I’ve seen in any school. At one point my child had nearly 25 students in the class. In the beginning of the year, the school asks each student to have all the items on the school supply list. One teacher confessed that she had absolutely no space for all the items her students brought in, so she started giving things away. So how much of the supplies did my child actually use?ACCEPTANCE – this school doesn’t seem to help children who are different, unique, or struggling. I’ve come across many parents who ultimately pulled their child out of the school, based on false pretenses. They say they are prepared to work with children who need individual attention, but I don’t believe this to be true.Once again, I think the school has great potential and academically, they score high. It’s just tough to be excited about the school with their many nuances.
