I was a teacher at this school. After teaching in public schools for 12+ years. I found the overall experience and very positive. My co-workers and the Principal was always available to lend a hand and share innovative ideas. The kids of course were awesome. To see them grow and learn throughout the year, reminded me why I love teaching. My students parents were happy to be involved in their children education. Overall I found this to be a wonderful experience and would recommend working and/or sending your child here to receive a wonderful educational experience.

Excelsior Prep is an excellent school with hard-working teachers and a Principal who cares about each and every child and her entire staff. The overall curriculum is taught with enthusiasm and the students are learning Spanish every single day. Excelsior is a small tuition-free school, with an intimate private school feel where students and parents are treated like family, not just bodies in seats. The technology is impressive - smartboards in every classroom, a full computer lab, roaming laptops, and more. I highly recommend Excelsior Prep for all students and parents of children aged Kindergarten to 5th grade!

Worst place to have a kid go to school. Its more like a daycare than a school. My son is in kindergarten. And i dont think the teachers are qualified to deal with kids from different backgrounds and behaviors. Sadly they tried to have state come out after months of lies to check learning of kids nothing accomplished. I received info from a new teacher a month ago which is too late since school year is pretty much over. Most definitely will never ever go back and definitely would not recommend this.

This is an awesome school! My son attended for kindergarten and returned for 1st grade. The atmosphere is positive and the staff are awesome!

Excelsior Prep Charter School is the WORST school In Hillsborough County The Teachers Are Good BUT THAT FRONT OFFICE IS unorganized, A Complete Waste Of Tax Payers Money ! They Over Work The Front Desk Lady To The Point She Can’t Even Do The Things She Should Be Doing As In OPENING the Door For Waiting Parents . You will Be Standing There For 15 Mins Plus Then They Will Have A Attitude With You When You Complain ‼️ They Send Out 100 plus Emails A Text Of What They Have Going On And When It’s Best For Them To Do Stuff As In Parent Teacher Conference Which Was Today, Which Was Also Report Card Day They Have The WHOLE school Conference Set For 3:30 - 4:30 All The Parents Plus Students & Their Other Kids Who Doesn’t Attened The School In The Hallway Waiting, Standing No Extra Setting Area For Waiting Parents No Space For Younger Kids Who Can’t Stan’s Still In One Spot For A Long Period Of Time, To Be Called Parent By Parent Which If Very Annoying When You Have Other Things To Do ‼️But Becuase It’s Best For Excelsior Prep To Have 100 Parents Conference On The Same Day At The Same Time YOU CANT have Your Child Report Card UNLESS you Wait Until Your Child Teacher Can Get To You Which Is Very Annoying When Your Kid Teacher Teach 2nd & 3rd Grade ! THENNNNNNNN The “ officer “ Who Does Everything But Sit In The Front And Secure The Door Cause If He Was Doing That, Then He Would See Parents Waiting But Instead He’s Hovering Over Parents & Jumping Into A Conversation Between a Parent & The Front Desk Rep . THEN Tells Me I Need To Leave The Property Because The Lady Already Told Me The Principle Isn’t In ON CONFERENCE night Which I Didn’t Hear And Planned On Waiting Just To Get My Childs Report Card & CALLS “ Back Up “ As If I’m Threatening To Harm Some One Clearly Because I’m Black ! This School Doesn’t Really Care For BLACK Children & It’s Shows ! Just Like Black History Month Wasn’t Celebrated Because & I Quote From The Principle Her Self “ Excelsior peep is a Hispanic Base School From Cuba “ I Wanted To Let My Child Finish His School Year Out Because He’s Teachers Are Great & They Have Really Helped Him ! But I HATE THIS SCHOOL DO NOT ENROLL YOUR CHILD HERE ! ! ! Do NOT ! LEAVE THESE PEOPLE TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR KIDS ! Came here for a week when I was younger... worst school I have ever been too and is the reason I was homeschooled for the rest of my childhood. Here are some of the rules. 1.no talking during lunch 2. You MUST complete a crossword puzzle to have playground time after lunch(no joke this is a thing) 3. All the windows were covered as to keep us from “daydreaming” and as someone slighty claustrophobic that was horrible. Oh and I had about 2-3 hours of homework everynight(in 3rd grade that is horrible)

This has to be one of the worst school I’ve ever seen being born and raised in Tampa Florida going to a lot School here in Tampa . This school is like a disfunction Family That Covers It all up by dressing everything up to look perfect, the Principal is rude, disrespectful & speaks to the parents as if she above them and looks down on them, like she knows better for your child THEN YOU DO talk to the kids as if they are her own . The school doors don’t open until 8am the kids have 15 mins to have breakfast and what ever they don’t have done they have to throw it away even though class doesn’t start until 8:30 ! My child didn’t wear uniform one day and was refused breakfast until the school got in contact with ( which had nothing to do with the child ) then was giving 5 mins to eat . The Spanish teacher is truly a reflection of her boss, she always very rude to children she Sends home a test saying my child made a 0% and need to practice at home how is it possible to practice Spanish in a English based home but not only do no one in my house whole speaks Spanish at all she Sent home the failed test that not even my child could remember the write words to study ! They teachers do not communicate with parents, Ana just runs around like a crazy person but nothing that goes through her get resolved ! This is a horrible school my child begs to stay home, I’m never at ease sending my child to this school and I will be removing him . SENDING YOUR CHILD TO THIS SCHOOL IS ALMOST EQUAL TO SENDING YOU CHILD WITH A WICKED STEP PARENT !!!

Its really annoying to see the teachers, and lunch men, give this school 5 stars!The principal is intimidating to the point where they could loose their jobs if they didnt rate 5 stars. (Seriously)CONS- ok. My son went to this school forkindergarten in Ms Montoya class- the same person that rated the school 5 stars. right away she labeled him as being a lair and thats exactly what she said to me about my son. Montoya slapped my nephew and the school tried to cover it up by lying including the principle Mrs. Williams and anna who saw Montoya slap him lied as well. so my son and nephew will not be back. every time my son tells them someone is doing something to him. they ignore him, or dont believe him.And Debra Gwyn another teacher at the school who i saw pull a student by his shirt his dad saw it made a big scene and was taken to the office to discuss it with the principal because he was too loud. When the father left Debra Gwyn threatened the child while i was slowly walking pass. She was a terrible teacher always yelling at the students. Always!PROS- its a small school, but not small classes, they offer Spanish. after care and before school care.

I never had any complaints and my son loved his teacher. If I could choose my sons teacher again, I would choose her.
