I could never say enough wonderful things about this school! My daughter is in the infant class and her teachers truly treat her like family. They have made the transition back to work a breeze and I feel so comforted in knowing my daughter is in such a happy and safe environment. She lights up when we walk in the doors each day. Makes this Mama feel so good knowing shes so happy to be there and being so well taken care of.

This is the BEST preschool/daycare experience we could have ever dreamed of for our two boys. Our youngest was in the school from 18 months to nearly 3 years old and our oldest from 3 years old to nearly 5! After a not so stellar child care experience elsewhere I went in search for a program that would allow our boys to be children while learning and growing in a positive, warm, loving, and structured environment. Summerfield exceeded our expectations over and over again. Each classroom centers their month of learning around a book. They then learn from all subject areas based on the theme of the book! Our 2 year old has learned his colors, shapes, routine, manners, potty training, animals and more! His speech, well leaves me speechless! I have no doubt that his speech skills are so great because of being engaged in learning at Summerfield! Now our 5 year old is more than ready for Kindergarten. He has learned more than I ever expected a preschool curriculum to teach. His handwriting is fantastic. He can write all his letters, upper and lower case, numbers. Towards the end of the year they worked on sight words but throughout the year worked on phonics. We have also worked with reading at home but there is no doubt that he *got* reading because of the daily support of basic letter sounds and blends at school. He is now a confident reader and not even in Kindergarten! Did I mention the art work these children bring home? Wow! These children were not left to just play with toys all day long. Every week they would bring home precious works of art, number books, retelling of monthly stories, etc. They brought home more art and academic work in a week than they brought home in a year of Montessori school. The school doesnt seem big on worksheets but they do some. Much of the learning is through instruction in the classroom, songs, games, etc. Outside of the academics and art they also do farming frequently with Farmer Jerry. Farmer Jerry is like a grandfather figure to all the kids and the directors husband. Our oldest knows all about planting flowers and food! Our youngest worked on establishing a butterfly garden than they had certified as a real butterfly garden! The teachers at Summerfield Academy are fantastic, loving, caring, and take time to get to know the students in their class as well as their siblings and other students. Every person hired at Summerfield I would trust in my home. Most of the lead teachers have been at Summerfield Academy for a long time. The assistants are college aged girls and many of them are in school to pursue degrees in education or other similar fields. Turn over is very little and when there is turnover I am guessing it is because someones school schedule or adventure after undergraduate school. If you want your children to have an enriching, education, joyful, and childlike school experience please take a good look here and dont hesitate to enroll them! We LOVE Summerfield Academy! Only left because we moved south of Houston!
