Been training for roughly 15 years now. The master instructors not only taught me how to defend myself, but they have supported me like a second family through my personal trials and successes. They have also granted me skills that have successfully translated into my schooling and professional career. I have witnessed the development of many other younger and older students in their training and personal lives thanks to the instructors’ support. Highly recommend for all ages, especially youth!

Master G and Master Sharp have extensive knowledge of Tang So Do. In classes there are skilled Black belts “on hand” to assist so personal attention is given to your individual challenges. They teach the history and tradition of this martial art with expertise.Tang So Do is a wonderful outlet for stress relief and a great challenge even to the older adult. Everyone makes the newcomer feel welcome.

Ive been attending Karate Masters for 20 years and have always considered it as my second family. My sister is also a student here, and she enjoys it as much as I do. The instructors take great care when teaching students and getting to know them. My daughter has been training at Karate Masters for 2.5 years and I couldnt be happier! The Masters are amazing people who instill their knowledge and love of Tang So Do in their students. They dont just focus on the physical aspect of Martial Arts. They focus on the history, the meaning and the way it applies to daily life. I watched my daughter walk in to her first class timid and lacking confidence, but now I watch her help lead classes, compete in World Championship Tournaments and deeply love the art that has become such a huge part of who she is as a person. My son Evan has been with Karate Masters for sometime now and his self confidence has soared. Everyone is like family to us and he literally looks forward to class. Master G and Master Sharpe curriculum not only provides technical skills but the knowledge that goes along with it. You cant go wrong with Karate Masters, its definitely worth the self-investment!!

We have our child in the tiny tigers program at Karate Masters and it has been a wonderful experience. All of the instructors are great at keeping the preschool age engaged and learning. I would definitely recommend this program to anyone looking for a karate school.

If you are looking for a great family atmosphere where you and your kids will learn karate, this is the place. Very family oriented and activities throughout the year, i.e., Trunk or Treat at Halloween, end-of-summer pool party, self-defense classes, numerous summer camps with more than just karate, etc. They care about their students and have a sincere interest in seeing them succeed. They also run a special where you can try it (a month, I believe) and get a uniform, all for not much more than the uniform itself costs! And they are also the regional directors for several states as well so they know their stuff! You really cant go wrong!

Have been going here for a while, great instruction, and atmosphere. Great place for kids. However, it is a traditional school, that believes in traditional values. Therefore, if you are looking for the “participation trophy” school or one that just expects a check from you each month for your kids to hang out, this is not the place. Expect to work hard, train hard, and expect to a much better person as a result.

Our family loves Karate Masters and its instructors. My 4 year old son has improved his coordination, listening skills, and confidence. He looks forward to going to class every week. We cant wait for our 2 year old to start taking classes as well.

Karate masters has been the best decision my husband and I have ever made for son. He joined last year at 4 years of age. In a years time, he participated in 3 tournaments and blew the judges out of he water. We learned Martial arts wasnt just for fun and learning skills. He has learned integrity, respect, concentration, perseverance, self control, and above all he is passionate. And that is what makes him a great martial artist-even at his young age. The instructors are amazing and show love, patience, and dedication for the kids. They teach the skill sets needed for the foundation for karate, self defense, and safety such as stranger danger. They help our son want to succeed and earn his next belt. I would highly recommend Karate Masters to anyone who would consider karate as beginners or those with experience. Its a one of a kind place.

Karate Masters is an excellent teaching facility for kids and adults, even older adults like myself. As instructors, the Sharpes are very encouraging but they also teach growth in self-discipline and respect of others. I began on a summer special, expecting to take a few lessons and then watch my grandchildren continue learning. Instead, this has become a work of steady learning and progress over the past four years. At my age, its a tough workout every session but it has certainly increased my flexibility and built up my physical strength to some degree, all while learning Tang Soo Do karate. Doing this alongside my son, daughter-in-law, and their three boys (11, 10, and 7) has made the journey even more special. I even get to help out in the younger classes, giving me a chance to grow even more by teaching others. Im looking forward to my four-year-old granddaughter joining with us this fall!

Karate Masters is one of the few places that has an extraordinary childrens program. We joined the family 6 years ago and couldnt be happier with our decision. Our kids started at 3 years old, one after the next. We have seeing them improve not only their athleticism but mainly grow in confidence, discipline and respect. Our kids receive direct instruction from one of the best and most qualified Tang Soo Do instructors in the world, since Master Sharpe holds a 7th degree black belt, there are only 8 in the world. I think that practicing karate is a great decision but being able to do it at Karate Masters makes it a unique and invaluable experience.

My family and I have been attending this school for 2 years. We have been SO impressed. The instructors are knowledgeable, the belt tests are worthwhile and we are prepared well. They fully support families coming together, and we come with our 3 sons, Grandpa, and mom and dad for a GREAT DEAL. We get to exercise together, spar together, test together. With a busy life and a busy family, this means a lot to me. The Sharpes are excellent - amazing instructors, kind people, and they act with integrity. We have many karate studios closer to our house, but I am very happy we have chosen this one. Well be here a very long time. I started practicing Tang Soo Do while working in Washington DC. When I moved back to Houston, the Karate Masters family welcomed me into their studio with open arms. Not only was I able to continue my training from where I left off, but truly take it to the next level. They have a flexible class schedule, so I’m always able to make classes despite work/travel. They also have a rotating staff of highly trained instructors, so every class is different and I’m always learning something new. The beginners, intermediates, and advanced students have separate AND combined classes for those inclined either way. They offer a wide variety of class types, with seasonal offerings, events (including tournaments), and more. As a working adult who wants to learn the art of self-defense, I can’t praise this place enough. Tang Soo!

At 4:30 pm on October 11, 2011, I picked up my 4th grade daughter and 5th grade son from school and drove to Karate Masters Family Martial Arts Center for an appointment with Master Allen Sharpe. We had already visited 3 other local studios, and I had intuitively chosen Karate Masters as the last one to visit in our attempt to choose the best place and instructors to help them overcome major issues with self-esteem that had resulted in unacceptable problems with being bullied.Upon entering the studio, I told Master Sharpe we were looking for a studio to help with these issues. I stepped back and he engaged my son and daughter in an age-appropriate conversation about school. They immediately relaxed and told him what they were experiencing in the school environment. After a brief but very skillfully executed exchange, he acknowledged the seriousness of the situation while injecting levity to the point that they were all laughing out loud.Master Sharpe told me that they saw this all the time in the schools and that their programs were designed to directly address these issues. He offered some introductory lessons to demonstrate their ability to be of help. We thanked him for his time and left.Over dinner I asked my children their opinion of the places we had checked out and which one they wanted to go to; in unison they replied, “Karate Masters.” I asked why they had made that choice; they said,” Because he understands.”We went back the next day and accepted the introductory class offer.Today, my son is a second degree Black Belt with certification as a class instructor and judge in competitive events. He has gone from a beaten-up kid who lumbered along when he walked to a young man who walks into places as though he owns them.My daughter, Megan, a senior in high school, suspended her training at the Blue Belt level to devote all of her discretionary time in a sports medicine trainer program where she serves as one of the captains of the group. In this program these children attend school all day and then spend another 3-7 hours on the days they are working their school’s sporting events. When I pick her up after these events she regularly tells me that she would not be able to do the things that are required of her if she had not had the training and inspiration she received at Karate Masters…sharing specific applications of what she learned at the martial arts studio.
