My son has been a member since 2016. We, as a family, are very happy with Sinsei Luis and his instruction.

My son started last year as a five years old and has advance so much. He is now 6 and started competing across the state. He won first place in kumite last year and since then he has being learning about discipline, respect to others, focus, commitment and self confidence. I 🖤🥋.This place prepares kids for success and what I love must about this dojo is that their curriculum goes along with the shitoryu principles and prepares teams to compete Nacional and internacional. Also, the sensei is certified by the World Karate Federation. They focus on traditional Japanese Karate and is affiliated to the USA Shito Kai. That is hardly to get in Houston.

This is an awesome place to learn Japanese Karate. My son loves his Sensei because he teaches in a fun and meaningful way. We also had his birthday party and it was the best party ever!.

The best experience with the best Traditional Karate. My son has been with this school for almost 4 month, and he has advance so much at the point of winning two medals at his first tournament in Dallas Texas. In this school the Master focus very much in confident and respect towards others. My family will be here for many years to come.

Wonderful dojo with amazing Shihan Luis Alberte teaching traditional ShitoRyu Karate and an excellent mix of members of children and adults. Very nice training atmosphere and welcoming place for all interested in learning this wonderful art.

Being a lifelong martial artist myself (3rd degree black belt in taekwondo) with 7 current fitness Guinness World Records under my belt, and having trained under more masters than I can even remember, I can say that Shihan Alberte is at the top of the list. His loyalty to the true form of the art and the Japanese tradition is outstanding. He strives to get the best of every student and he will not surrender to mediocrity. Teaching for him is not a business, its his passion, his life. He doesnt only develop perfectionists on the art of Karate and great competitors, but he also develops good human beings. He is particularly good with kids making them feel valued and instilling in the them the values of discipline, consistency and respect as key components of success. My kid (12 years old) in particular had done many sports before and tried other martial art schools (even taekwondo) resulting in a lot of disappointment, but after he started with Shihan Alberte, I have never seen him so happy and motivated. I highly recommend Miyagi Ken and Shihan Alberte.

If it was possible, I would give them 6 stars. This is a REAL japanese Karate place, where you or your kid will enter the way of knowledge and balance and respect encompassed in traditional Karate. Luis is a great sensei, highly capable and charismatic, AWESOME with kids and extremely tender and patient. He and his family have treated my 5 yr old daughter lovingly... In a way, thanks to the way sensei Luis helped my daughter become passionate about Karate, this dojo has become a home for us. Highly recommend. Won’t dissapoint anyone who expects a real Karate school.

This is an authentic Japanese Karate place!

It is a very professional Karate School where they combine fun with learning the values ​​of Karate. Most importantly, my children have a good time. Highly recommended.
