We have been part of this team for almost 4 years and couldnt be happier with our experience. What started out as an after school program quickly became a critical part of my kids development. The team at One Nation is quick to post updates when there are changes to the school schedule, communicate well with what they are able to offer during planned and unplanned no school days, and have always been both flexible and gracious. We are impressed with the discipline and pride our young kids are learning. All of the professors and coaches are very professional, very polite, and very engaging.

My son (9) has been attending JJN’s after school program for two years now. The level of discipline and skill provided far surpasses any other ASP he’s attended in the past. The staff is extremely professional and Tyler is always communicative when it comes to accommodations for school closures. I’m an active duty military single mom with varying business hours and Professor Cliff, Professor Geo and Coach Tyler are always so understanding of my situation. My son is well cared for and most importantly engaged in a skill that he enjoys and can apply to other areas of his life.

I’ve always had an interest to start martial arts and the first one happened to be Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Ian loves the after school program. Its hands down the most affordable and fully inclusive after school program out there. Not only do they train in Jiu-jitsu, but get help with their homework too.

The staff are friendly, kind, and knowledgeable. Their facility is clean, and they offer a firm, but fun environment while teaching the kids self defense. My daughter comes home excited about what she’s learned. Sometimes, she even wants to pin me to the ground and make me tap out! (lol) 5 stars for Jiu Jitsu Nation!

I can not speak more highly of Jiu Jitsu Nation, its services and the staff who make it all happen. My son began attending their after school program last year in the first grade. He was extremely shy, lacked confidence, and had tremendous difficulty adapting to new situations, new people, or changes to his schedule. Long story short, Jiu Jitsu changed our lives. My son flourished in the gym, and in turn began flourishing in all other aspects of his life. His confidence soared, his ability to adapt to new situations and people was like a whole new kid. The life lessons he has learned and continues to learn from this sport and the staff at JJN are too many to count and priceless. He attends their summer camps each year and LOVES them, wants to go even when he doesnt have to. The after school care programs/day cares he has attending in the past were just a place he went out of needing to be watched for a few hours. Here, he is gaining character traits, life skills, and physical abilities he never would have had otherwise. My husband also joined a few months later, and has lost 50 pounds, and he and my son have a stronger bond. The staff at JJN, every single one, is fantastic and a gift to all its members and the community as a whole. Their dedication to people, the sport, the kids is nothing short of phenomenal. My husband and sons experience here is truly something we are grateful for every day. The only regret is not joining sooner.

Upon bringing our son Chandler to One Nation, we had no idea what he would be like. He was born premie and still has some things we are working through. That being said One Nation helped Chan man release the energy he had stored up at all times lol. But they also helped teach him about discipline, integrity and respect for others. We love ONJJ and what they have help do with Chandler. We would recommend them for anyone interested .

We have had our son in JuJitsu Nation for around 2 years now. We found JuJitsu Nation when we were looking for an afterschool program due to some issues at his then current after school program.  I went out on a limb because a few years before we tried taekwondo without success. He just wasnt into it and it was a struggle to even complete the free week. However, once he started at JuJitsu Nation he blossomed. I cant say enough kind things about this organization.  They have absolutely amazing coachesand professors who you can tell adore the kids. They play and have fun with the kids all while teaching them the art and teaching them to be respectful and responsible for themselves and their actions. Anytime Ive had questions about the program or how he was doing both on and off the mat theyve always taken the time to fully answer questions. Even responding to messages after hours. If your looking for a community atmosphere that will nourish and grow your childs development on and off the mat you must give them a try!!

If you are considering One Nation for your child sign them up immediately! My daughter joined their afterschool program and it has been life changing. When we started she was very shy and not confident in her strength. After the first week I noticed such a change in her. She now walks with so much confidence and has a real interest in staying active. Respect is a huge part of the culture and my daughter has also become so much more helpful at home and she rarely complains when I ask her to go something now. When we had a very tragic family event they where there for my daughter and gave her encouragement and all the love! They even made space for her in a full camp to keep her busy. I dont think she would have grieved as well without their support.On top of just being amazing human beings the facility is also very clean and covid conscious. The afterschool program is worth every penny and more. You wont regret it!

Ever since I joined this school and have felt welcomed. I had little to no experience when I started, two and a half years ago. Coaches are quick to help and answer any questions. Even if you have no experience you will get helped and feel welcome. The schedule also is a great advantage. They have several afternoon classes and morning classes. My 7 year old daughter is also in this school and she loves going to class. Definitely a place where they can learn discipline and also how to defend themselves.

I wish I had done this years ago. You will be sore. You will be tired. You will be frustrated at how a person 50 pounds lighter than you can put you on your back. You will be frustrated at how much technique and skill this takes. And you will regret not doing it sooner. It is full of people who want to teach you in a place where it is safe but definitely challenging.

We signed our son up for summer camp at Jiu Jitsu Nation. Our plan was to send him back to the after school program at his school after the summer was over. However, we found out very quickly that Jiu Jitsu Nation was much more than an after school program or summer camp. Everyone of their Coaches and Professors cares for the kids and really invests in making the kids better people. My son went from being shy and timid kid to a kid with tons of confidence. I saw so much change in him that I joined myself and have found a love for a sport that I knew nothing about 5 months ago. The feeling of family and friendship is so powerful. My only regret is we didnt join the Jiu Jitsu Nation family sooner.

I started here at Jiu-Jitsu nation just three short years ago. Instantly falling in love with this place and the environment that was upheld here. However, when I first started I was a bit shy, that soon changed because of the people at this place, along with many other things involving my personality, responsibilities, and character in general. I signed up myself and my two children with Jiu Jitsu Nation just over 5 months ago and I cant even begin to explain how great this place is! The coaches are all amazing teachers and each and every member help to guide you along as well! Ive been able to get back into my old high school shape at 36 years old and my children are excelling at every level as well, both physically and mentally! Weve even been able to bring home a few competition gold medals, with more to come! This place truly feels like a second family for us!

I had shop around for a gym for a couple months. When I came into jiujitsu nation I immediately felt welcomed. My first class being fairly new was amazing. The instructor and my class mates took the time to show me the warm up drill. After that class I signed up for a membership. It’s like a family here. When you miss a class everyone makes sure your okay. Not only do I feel like I’m learning a valuable skill but I’m making friends!

I cant say enough about Jiu Jitsu Nation. Our son has been attending a little over a year now. He does the after school and summer program. It has been wonderful for him. He has gained so much confidence since he started. He came to us last week and told us he is ready to compete. We are so excited. The older children help all of the younger children out and its truly amazing to watch them all grow together. I will have to say, this has been one of the best investments we have made in our son. A fantastic facility staffed by absolutely top notch instructors who keep themselves and the curriculum they teach from dialed in to the bleeding edge of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.All too often instructors fall behind the times. If you are looking for an after school or summer program, I recommend the team at Jiu Jitsu Nation located on Old Nashville Highway. These kids are not afraid of contact and develop motor skills, instincts and discipline that will reside for a lifetime. I wished all my kids could have experienced a similar program. I started going to this place towards the end of July of this year. I felt like a part of a team the day I began classes. I have learned so much these past few months. Im a mom of two kids and I had put on weight from my pregnancies that just seemed impossible to lose. I have now lost a total of 18 pounds since I began at Jiu Jitsu Nation. I was on a business trip when I visited Jiu Jitsu Nation and was impressed on the quality. Ive trained for over 2 years and Ive trained at several different schools when I have to travel. I will say this school is the real deal. Cliff Fonseca is a great instructor and very detailed in his training. Every student was welcoming from the moment I arrived and willing to help. I always passed by Jiu Jitsu places thinking to myself, Id love to do this. I have always been drawn to Jiu Jitsu Nation, and even though I had not been, this place always stuck out. Why? I am not even sure, just did. I live in Murfreesboro, TN and passed this place regularly going to Motlow at the time. My son had always been picked on at school. Coming home with black eyes and nothing I could do. He was scared and afraid. I came home from class one day and my son told us once again he had been beaten up. That was it, I had enough. I left without saying anything and drove straight to Jiu Jitsu Nation. I signed him up but with my military discount it was cheaper for both of us to join then for just him. At this time im 59 and 235 lbs (way overweight) and I smoked a pack of cigs a day. My health was very poor. So my son and I started, and we where both freaking scared. Let me tell you the warm welcoming and the friendliness of not only the professors and coaches, but everyone that attended including the owner was amazing. In just a short time i felt part of the family. After about a month my son came home and told me he had been sent to in school suspension. I asked what for and he said that kid was picking on me and i pulled him and took his back and used a rear naked choke until the teacher came. I smiled and said boy get your shoes we going out for ice cream.) that boy dont get picked on any more and has even defended another boy from bullies. Needless to say, Jiu Jitsu Nation is amazing at ALL ages.On another note. I stated I started out at 235. One year in and I am 175 and in one of the best shapes of my life. I didnt change much of my diet except cutting back a little bit on sweets and soda. I stopped smoking. I just came to class and kept coming. Some days it was tough, but my team was ALWAYS there. NEVER ALONE!!!!!!!!!Here is a before and after if you need proof!!!!!!!!!!Jiu Jitsu Nation CHANGED MY LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have been a part of the Jiu Jitsu Nation family for the past year and could not be happier. Our 7 year old loves his classes, his new friends, Coach Tony and Professor Cliff. It was important for us to have our children learn self defense in a fun and creative way while also getting great exercise, self discipline, learning self respect as well as respecting others. Recently our 5 year old started classes and loves Jiu Jitsu just as much as his older brother. Both kids are excited to go to class and the pride in themselves after every class is evident. Bonus- They sleep VERY well on Jiu Jitsu days!

Free 30 days promotion lured me into Jiu Jitsu Nation. Professor Fonseca is very knowledgeable and experienced. I was very surprised at the attitude of students and professor. I attended some classes at different Martial Arts schools when I was a teenager and it is nothing like previous experiences. Very Casual friendly and I love the family atmosphere of the school. I will be adding my children soon and I signed up once my 30 days expired. I had Gastric Sleeve Surgery 8 months ago and I would recommend this to anyone that had the Gastric Surgery and looking for a way to keep off the lbs long term. The cool factor is that you will find out its more to it then keeping off the lbs, you will learn about self defense, boost your self confidence and help with your transition to your new life. Some of the things it will help is your flexibility and strength that is lost during the transition to your new self. You will do things you never imagined you could do before and Jiu Jitsu Nation can add to that new adventure of your self discovery. I highly recommend it.

I have been attending Jiu Jitsu Nation for eight months now and I cant be any happier with my progression in the Jiu Jitsu art and my fitness. I would whole heartedly recommend this school for anyone. I signed my son 13 and myself 40 about 3 moths ago. Our experience so far at this point has been that it’s a positive uplifting environment. My 6 year old has been going to the after school program since he started kindergarten. He has told me that he loves it...learning new things and making new friends. I love the discipline piece and the fact that he may use jiu jitsu one day to save someone else or save himself. I want him to know how to defend himself if the situation arises. He has grown a lot from attending Jiu Jitsu Nation these past two years and I would recommend it to any family thinking about the possibility of joining. We moved here about a year ago and this is the first and last place I looked to enroll my son in an after school program. It has been absolutely wonderful. He has attended throughout all school breaks and it has been the best program we have ever put him in.

I ve been training at Jiu jitsu Nation for close to two years.I travel for work and found this place while working in Smyrna.The job is over now but I still make an effort to get over there as much as I can. The level of skill in this place is incredible.Everyone is very passionate about jiu jitsu and it definitley shows on the mats.Everyone is very welcoming and push each other to be better. Professor Cliff and all the coaches are extremely knowledgeable and very helpful with any questions. Ive trained at a LOT of academies in several states and JJN is one of the cleanest Ive ever seen. I had trained Jiu Jitsu as a hobby with friends and began searching for a structured academy to follow a regimented schedule. I took the free evaluation class in two other schools before Jiu Jitsu Nation. The difference was night and day. The level of competence and confidence in Professor Fonseca and his instructors stood out as being top tier practitioners of Jiu Jitsu as an art, sport, and self defense. I signed up the same night as my intro course, and consider it a value in enriching my life. I also appreciate the way that he and his team have helped me correct prior training deficiencies. I’ve known Professor Cliff for well over a decade. During this time, I’ve trained with him as a peer and directly under his instruction. My perspective is twofold. A year ago I returned from an extended break from training. However, this time around; my 6 year old son joined me. I wanted to continue training and let him to discover his own jiu jitsu path. From an adult class perspective, Professor Cliff teaches every aspect of Jiu Jitsu. Aside from being a highly decorated practitioner, his instruction is top notch and very detailed. The other students are also key in everyone’s success. The kids program is equally impressive as well. Professor Cliff and his coaches make learning so fun the kids don’t realize they’re learning respect, discipline and a life changing art. From the first class, my son was hooked! There is simply no place he would rather be. Lastly, once you enter those doors to the school; your instructors and teammates truly become your family!

My son started going here nearly a year ago. I was interested, coming from an athletic background when I was younger. (Football, Boxing, Wrestling, Shot Put, Archery) With a professional life, being career minded and upwardly motivated, I forgot to focus on myself and my personal needs and put the needs of my career and having a better life for my family first. It was a big blow to me, when at 37 years old, I was diagnosed with Type II Diabetes and realized I was morbidly obese. I tried the gym, and it worked, for a while. I lost a lot of weight, but I soon fell off the wagon. After going to a few tournaments with my son, I realized that I not only wanted to learn more about what he was doing, but that it was the perfect outlet and exercise that I needed to help with my diabetes and stay in shape while keeping something in common with my son and furthering his interest in it. In 8 weeks of Jiu Jitsu, I can honestly say that Im hooked. It hasnt been easy, and there have been some bumps and bruises along the way, but its been TOTALLY worth it! Ive met some amazing people, adults and kids, who are willing and excited to help me on my journey learning. Ive lost over 20 lbs. and my A1C has dropped from 6.9 to 5.8. Im gaining flexibility. I have visual proof that I do, in fact, possess ribs, they are not just a myth! The encouragement from Professor Cliff, Coach Tony, and Coach Tyler, along with all of huge family that is Jiu Jitsu nation keep me going every night. It isnt easy, it isnt entirely painless, but I and my family are totally worth it! Im beginning to understand the hashtag #Jiujitsusavedmylife.

I have trained at several different MMA, Jiu Jitsu, and boxing gyms throughout the country and Jiu Jitsu nation is by far the best that I have ever had the pleasure of learning at. It is a rare occasion that a highly experienced, well respected Black Belt and owner of a gym regularly attends his classes from my experience, and jiu jitsu nation is the exception to that rule. In my short tenure training at this gym, Professor Cliff has not only taught every single class but actually rolls with all students regardless of belt level very regularly…I cannot express how valuable that detail is to anyone interested in learning martial arts. When you are given the opportunity to actually engage with high level practitioners such as Professor Cliff, the experience and knowledge that you gain is absolute GOLD! All of the students at the gym have great attitudes and allows for a professional and positive learning environment that greatly exceeds any other organization that I have worked with!!!

My 13 year old son absolutely loves this place and the people who make it what it is. I did ALOT of research before in rolling myself or my son. I can say with complete confidence that the BJJ being taught is at a very high level. When you see the head instructor and owner still willing to compete and win in the biggest stages out there it means a lot ! February 1st made 1 year since my son started. He has managed to collect several competition medals in his category. The confidence work ethic and friends he has made have become a huge part of his life. I STRONGLY recommend to any man woman or child of any age looking to make an extremely positive change in there life to contact these great people. I work a lot of very odd hours but the schedule they offer really leaves no excuses for anyone not to be able to attend. When we first started I drove over an hour one way. We have recently moved and being easily accessible to this place was a major factor in where I put my self and son. Whats being offered here is much more than just world class jiu jitsu instruction!!

Ive been to many martial art and combat gyms, and Jiujitsu nation is by far the best one Ive been associated with. Everyone makes you feel like youre part of team the first day you join and step out on the mats. You never feel that pressure of being a target and theres always a friendly environment.Joining Jiujitsu Nation and being under Professor Cliff Fonseca has change my life dramatically as well as others. I found a new passion for life and became friends with many great and positive people. Everyone is encouraging and always willing to help in anyway they can.I think Jiujitsu Nation is a great place for both adults and kids. They have one of the best kids programs that middle Tennessee has to offer in Jiujitsu, and one of the best after school programs in Rutherford county. The kids learn so much and love being around the environment as well as around the teachers and some of the adult students. Jiujitsu nation really is a great place for adults, kids, and families, and I recommend it to everyone!

Jiu-jitsu Nation is AWESOME!!!! There is so much to love here from the after school program where they pick your child up from school to Professor Cliff and all his great coaches. Everyone is really a family here. If you need after scool care, great! But its so much more. If you go to any jiu-Jitsu tournaments that come in town you will see Jiu-jitsu Nation well represented! There are so many awesome kids here and they continue to grow and push each other to be their absolute best! After looking at several different martial arts schools in the area. I finally settled on this school. The professor and coaches of this Jiu Jitsu school are all top shelf people, instructors, and competitors. The professor, Cliff Fonseca, is a great asset to any one that wants to learn, regaurdless if you have been doing jiu jitsu for years or, like me have only been doing it for a short time, Jiu Jitsu Nation is one of the best. If not the best school in middle Tennessee, and perhaps all of the state. My family has been a part of Jiu Jitsu Nation for approximately one year. I can’t tell you how happy my girls are (and me too) to attend the after school program and the classes. I’ve had them in different after school programs and JJN’s program cannot be compared to any other. My youngest was very hyper, always full of energy and it was difficult for her to stand still and concentrate on a task. Since joining JJN, she has shown great improvement and has learned to focus. The staff is great, always very friendly and professional. Professor Cliff, Coach Doug and Coach Tony have gone above and beyond my expectations. They are dedicated to the children and there is not one day that they do not acknowledge and/or encourage my girls. Aside from exceptional classes and instructors, JJN has a great family atmosphere. The best martial arts school in Smyrna! Professor Fonseca is very knowledgable and experienced. Training jiu jitsu has changed my life. As a police officer what I have learned I have been able directly apply at work. I have been given skills that I now pass on to others at my department. I have my kids signed up as well! I love the family atmosphere of the school and all the students are willing to teach you what they know. About three years ago my husband and I walked into Jiu Jitsu Nation. I had no idea the impact it would have on our lives. Professor Cliff Fonseca is an amazing Jiu Jitsu practitioner.
