The Raaga team makes Indian classical music accessible and engaging to Bay Area kids without sacrificing rigor. Many of the teachers seem to have walked the hard road themselves -- they have learned both the technique and spirit of Indian classical music growing up out west. That experience helps them teach kids both the theory and the practice of classical music at a pace tailored to their aptitude and interest.Raaga also arranges annual performances by students and generally builds a great musical community.

My son started Carnatic violin lessons at Raaga School of Music last fall. What started as a trial to see if this is a good fit for him worked out as an amazing platform for his learning. His teacher is Sri. Sasidhar who is very patient with his teaching and provides constructive feedback which helps. He also sets expectations for the next class and keeps track of the progress, which shows that this is being taken seriously and lot of effort is being put to the task of teaching this wonderful art form to the kids. The staff is taking steps to build a community of musicians, parents and kids with similar interest which is important too.

We send our 8 year old for Carnatic Voice classes. He thoroughly enjoys his music lessons Mrs Sindhu at the Raaga School of Music. They encourage students to also learn the history and heritage of Carnatic music -- something I always wanted to do. I am really happy that we have such quality Carnatic music classes in the Bay Area
