Amir is an asset to the global Persian music and dance community. He has students from around the world, from beginner to professional level. His lifelong dedication to the art comes through in his meticulously planned classes which challenge and nurture students creativity. Ive really enjoyed learning to play the daf from him (via zoom, as Im based in New Zealand!) and highly recommend his classes to other dancers who want to see notable improvement in their musicality.

Since the very first online class that I took with Amir, I have been totally impressed by his effective teaching skills, mastery of both Western and Middle Eastern music, his innovate approach and constant attention to his students. His classes are dynamic, interesting, diverse and accessible. He carefully selects his teaching material to match the skill levels of the class. Every session is recorded and shared with his students to compliment their study material.Learning music is a life-long undertaking that can present many challenges along the way. Amir has the musical knowledge and skills, at the highest levels, complemented with a very effective teaching methodology that helps to make this journey both easier and enjoyable for his students. He embraces technology to share his talent for inspiring and benefiting many people.Amir is also a very nice person with a contagious smile and excellent personal and professional manners. I am honored to know Amir as a mentor, music partner and friend.

Amir is an incredibly talented teacher. His knowledge of Persian and other forms of Middle Eastern music is unprecedented. In addition, he is extremely kind and always meets me, as the student, where I am able to show up. I am able to learn at my own pace but I am also pushed just enough to always make some progress with each lesson.Amir is also very skilled with the online format and consistently professional in every way. I am not a fan of online learning, but he has made it very fun and entertaining. He is always resourceful and trying new things to enhance our lessons. Highly, highly recommend this teacher.

I have taken lessons with Amir for almost two years and have been very satisfied. In fact, I think he is one of the best teachers I have ever had for the following reasons. Amir is very well organized and systematic in his approach. He is patient and clear in his instructions. His knowledge of Middle Eastern music is deep and extensive. As a teacher, he knows exactly the balance between encouragement and letting me know where I can improve. While he is very well organized and clear, he is also a very intuitive and creative person. He encouraged me to explore my own creativity so that I started composing poems and reciting them along with my drumming. Furthermore, he has created a beautiful community of music lovers and practitioners and organizes regular concerts and venues for his students to showcase their work.

Ive been taking drum classes with Amir once a week for more than a year now.Last summer his ad caught my eye and I decided to register for a 4 week session. After one year, every week Im looking forward to my weekly class. With his positive and creative approach to teaching, I feel that Im improving my reading and playing skill, my knowledge of music theory, and the connection between culture and music. In fact, Amir creates a community of students who care about and support one another. Most importantly, his lesson plans are clear and he is always prepared with his teaching materials. As a novice musician, I was concerned about a teacher being able to meet me on my level. Despite his great depth of musical knowledge, Amir has always met me where I am at and I never felt like I didn’t know anything in the class. He is an excellent instructor.

Ive been taking online Daf lessons at Amir School of Music since December 2020. I cannot say enough good things about him and his classes. Everything about this music class was excellent. Amir was polite, friendly, reliable, interactive, answered questions, and felt comfortable and confident about his professional works. As a beginner, I was so nervous and didnt know if I could learn anything with no music background. However, Amir has been extremely patient in helping me with music theory, history, and techniques. He provided different materials such as notes, mp3, videos, and online projects during these sessions. The classes were online via zoom, and Amir was so flexible with my tight schedule. I am excited about finding an outstanding music school and highly recommend that he and his classes be your Music Master.

Ive been studying Persian music with Amir over several years. He is a brilliant and dedicated teacher, with an organized approach that is friendly, fun and as demanding as circumstances allow. Combining private instruction with community events (online and, when possible, in person), this is a holistic way to deepen in the culture, learn theory and technique, and practice creating beautiful tone and meter according to tradition. I recommend Amir School of Music.

I have been studying Daf (Persian drum) with Amir for over a year now and it has been an enriching experience. His passion and dedication to music and teaching is beyond words. His teaching style has made me perceive and understand music on a completely different level. His classes are filled with joy and positive energy, and I always feel rejuvenated after each class. He typically ends the classes with a short meditation which is a nice way to wrap up the class. He eagerly shares his knowledge with his students and covers many different topics in the course of his classes including theory of music, techniques, rhythms, etc.He is also very responsive to emails and has answered many of my questions via email outside of the class. I am always impressed by the fact that he goes above and beyond. He has also developed a library of materials including music sheets, MP3s and videos that help his students to better grasp the concepts. One of the unique aspects of his classes is the fact that he ignites his students creativity through projects. One of my favorite projects was to compose my own music. He gave us the tools and allowed us to use our imagination to come up with a new creation and it was fascinating to see the results.During the COVID, he has been creating opportunities for his students to collaborate virtually. Videos of those collaborations are available on YouTube.Whether you are a beginner or have a background in music, I highly recommend Amir as a teacher.

I have been taking frame drum/daf lessons and doumbek lessons from Amir for about a year and a half. He is an excellent teacher and for the first time I feel I can read music and am taking my drumming to a whole new level. Classes are really fun and interactive with Amir and the other students. I love Amir’s positive attitude and the meditations he does at the end of each class. He has taught us a wide variety of rhythms and not only teaches us how to read the music but the history of the rhythms, how they are used, and how to play effectively and sensitively with other musicians, both for fun or professionally. The knowledge he imparts is not just academic but covers all aspects of culture and real life applications. In class activities and homework are varied and fun, using a variety of tools such as watching and playing along with mp3’s and videos or reading and practicing from music notation. He is always giving gentle pushes to expand our abilities and increase our speed, as well as to practice composing our own pieces and performing them for recitals. All in all, Amir has been my favorite of all my percussion instructors. The classes are really fun and I have improved greatly in my playing and knowledge of music theory, reading music and understanding of the music of other cultures. I would highly recommend Amir as a teacher to anyone interested in learning more about playing Persian music at any level.

Amir is an excellent teacher. Each class is so dynamic and rich, I have learned so much about Middle Eastern music theory and practice. His deep knowledge of the music is very valuable and his teaching method is very entertaining and pedagogical. The classes have audio, video and PDF work materials to follow the lessons at home.It was definitely the best decision and I have fallen even more in love with music with these classes. Fully recommended

Patient, humble and knowledgeable/skilled teacher of Daf (Persian Drum) and Recorder. I am amazed at the different exercises, supplemental MP3s and projects presented to our class to help us to understand rhythms and techniques in different ways. With everyone on different schedules it is nice to have a teacher that starts class on time and promptly without us feeling rushed out. He is always present in the moment with us and is available for email questions outside of class. He has a true understanding of facilitation dynamics in how he guides us thru class, warming us up for the technique portion, sprinkling in interesting bits of history, and bringing the energy of class to rest with a poem or guided meditation.

During the first half of 2021, a window opened in which I was able to take several weekly classes with Amir...frame drum, dumbek, and Persian recorder. It was a lot all at once but I was able to make significant progress on all three instruments mainly because Amir provided an excellent process and structure for learning each instrument. The rapid progress is significant because I had little experience or musical knowledge prior to classes. The zoom videos, the pdf posted course materials, the audio recordings (all recorded and available after the classes), and the projects were very, very helpful. I have now built as musical foundation that continues to expand on these three instruments but have, based on learning how to read music and understand rhythm and tempo, have been able to add several other instruments-harmonica, Native American flute, buffalo drum, djembe, and conga to my musical journey. These additional instruments were only accessible to this beginner based on the musical theory that Amir provided. Music has truly become a second language for me with Amirs help. Amir continues to be available not only as a teacher but as a friend. Lastly, even though I am not presently taking classes because of other commitments, I continue to build on what I learned from my excellent teacher and am actually beginning to play for other folks, something I never thought would occur. At some point down the road, I hope to take Amirs class for the tanbur...hopefully he will have this slow learner as a student again. Thanks Amir.Ed

Ive been taking music classes for almost three years with Amir. When I started, I was interested in learning a Persian instrument. After starting lessons with Amir, I was so pleased with his teachingmethods that I have picked up additional instruments, and am nowlearning tombak, daf, and setar from him. He makes the classes funso I am always looking forward to the classes, and enjoy practicing.Amir passes his passion for music to his students, making it fun to learnand feeling like he enjoys teaching as much as we enjoy learning.Amir is very well educated in music and understands the how to play andthe background of different musical instrument from many places. Ifthere is time at the end of class, hell put on some music from random places and explain the different instruments that were used to createthat music. This allows us to appreciate music even more.

I have been taking Daf and Tombak class with Amir for past several years. And I should mention I started the classes at age 60.Amir teaching technique combines two modes of teaching, one based on listening and repeating the rhythm and one that emphasizes on understanding of timing, techniques and music notes. The lather is an academic approach and as you go forward proves to be very valuable, at least to me. This was essential for me to learn how to play as I am not talented in listening and repeating the rhythms and learning with music notes was especially essential in my learning.I am really glad that I have started this learning process with Amir and I am very happy with my progress.Aside from percussions Amir also plays melodic instruments such as “Tar”, “Setar”, “Tambour” and “flute”. I rate Amir very high as a musician and as a teacher.

I could not believe what I had heard from my friends (his students) about his expertise in music. He was too young to be a master player of Daf and Tonbak. I was pleasantly surprised observing his performance at a Yalda night ceremony. It was astonishing. No one expected Mr. Amir Eatemadzadeh to play with such skill and gravity. During the performance he was interrupted several times with the crowds cheer and applause, which was greatly amplified at the end. The elegance, technical skill and respectfulness of his playing impressed and excited the audience beyond words. He inspired the audience with uncontrollable joy and fulfillment, which was reflected in subsequent line of cheers and applause. I am glad I was present that night to enjoy Amirs masterful and dignified performance.I wish all Iranian musicians, especially those living abroad, could have the same level of respect for the Iranian traditional music; i.e., to present its elegance and artfulness instead of being motivated by financial gains or just amusing a partying crowd, motivations that are below the dignity of a mystical instrument such as Daf.Mr. Eatemadzadeh should be aware that his love for music is well reflected in his performance and that the time and energy he has put into this, will be fully paid off by establishing a high position in the field for him. I am glad to see that at places so distant from home we have people of his caliber around us to treat Iranian music with the respect and dignity that it deserves.
