Dr. Ming Li is an excellent flute teacher who has a vast musical experience as well as a kind, patient, and encouraging attitude towards all his students. He is able to teach constructively and professionally whilst maintaining a positive learning environment and allowing music to continue bringing joy and happiness.I started flute lessons with Dr. Ming Li around 3 years ago with little exposure to music and hardly any skill on the flute. I have improved considerably since then and, with his constant help and guidance, I was able to be the section leader in my middle school band, audition into my high school’s Wind Ensemble, and was accepted into the Senior Orchestra at the California Philharmonic Youth Orchestra.Although I still have a long journey ahead of me, I have already come so far and cannot possibly express my gratitude towards Dr. Ming Li for helping me every step along the way. I am so thankful for all his support and I can positively say that Dr. Ming Li is an amazing teacher and I strongly recommend him to anyone looking to start playing the flute or to build their skill and knowledge.

Dr. Ming Li encourages hard work from his students by providing a wide range of pieces that challenge all aspects of a player. At each lesson, one can expect an opportunity to receive concise feedback from the countless years of Dr. Li’s experience, while also learning to appreciate the music itself. Dr. Li is highly motivational and supportive which drives his students to practice more, thus helping one improve greatly in a short period of time.Two and a half years ago, I started taking flute lessons from Dr. Li. At this time, my middle school Advanced Band audition was coming up within a few months, and I could barely play the flute. Dr. Li’s method of teaching brought out the passionate flutist in me, allowing me to successfully audition and make the Advanced Band.Dr. Li’s passion and honesty in teaching flute has led me to continue improving my techniques, even over Zoom. With Dr. Li’s intensive lessons, I recently got accepted into the California Philharmonic Youth Orchestra’s Senior Orchestra. I am extremely thankful for learning flute with Dr. Li, as he is a supportive teacher who maximizes the potential in all of his students.

Dr. Ming Li is an extremely experienced flute instructor who offers professional and effective lessons. As his student, I have been learning flute with him for around 4 years now, and I can not thank him enough for all the passionate and helpful lessons he taught me.Dr. Ming Li is responsible for each and every one of his students, and he is the teacher I respect and appreciate wholeheartedly. I am Dr. Ming li s student, and he has been teaching me for about 3 years.Dr. Ming Li makes sure that all of his students are taken care of. I have grown in both character and skill under his guidance. He is a great teacher as he changes his teaching style to fit each student. Dr. Li is a great teacher who always treats his every individual student differently.

It has been a great privilege of mine to learn flute under Dr. Ming Li for the past four years. Not only is he an excellent flutist and teacher, but he is also a great mentor who always goes above and beyond to make music a joy. One of his great assets is that he not only focuses on technical aspects of music, but also takes the time to detail the story behind each piece I play, which I find particularly powerful. By highlighting little intricacies, such as the composers life circumstances during the composition of certain pieces, Ive learned to embed new feelings into my playing that wouldnt have been possible otherwise.I started out in Dr Lis class in 7th grade barely able to make an adequate sound on my flute, and under his instruction Ive now had the chance to play in the California Philharmonic Senior Youth Orchestra, play in the San Jose Youth Symphonys (SJYS) Philharmonic Orchestra, and place as a winner in SJYSs young artist competition.It is with my great confidence that any student learning under Dr. Li will thrive, and I wholeheartedly recommend him to any budding flutist!

Dr. Ming Li is a wonderful flute teacher!

My two children and Teacher Li have been learning flute for several years, and they have learned a lot. The boss is now in grade 9 and he started to learn flute in junior high school. Earlier this year, he was admitted to the California All State High School Concert Band. In May of this year, he was admitted to the Philharmonic Orchestra of the San Jose Youth Symphony. The second child is now in the 6th grade. He is a naughty boy. However, under the careful guidance of Teacher Li, he still likes the flute. He can keep practicing every day and he has made rapid progress.Teacher Lis rich experience and interesting guidance made the children fall in love with the flute and become more active in practicing the flute. Teacher Li is not only the childrens music tutor, but also encourages children to set long-term goals in life and teaches them the principles of life. My two children are full of confidence every time they finish flute lessons and work hard towards their goals. We are very fortunate that our two children can become Teacher Li’s students, and we sincerely hope that more people can benefit from Teacher Li’s teaching.

I am very fortunate that my two children have the opportunity to learn flute from Teacher Li. The boss is in the 10th grade this year and has studied with Teacher Li for 4 years. He is currently in the San Jose Youth Symphony Orchestra and won the Symphony Orchestras 2021 Young Artist Competition. My second child is in 8th grade this year, and in 6th grade he started to learn flute with Teacher Li, and entered the California Junior High School All-state Symphonic Band this year. The two children have different personalities and different musical foundations. Teacher Li teaches students according to their aptitude. The teaching is interesting and strict. The two children love flute and both have made great progress. Teacher Li not only teaches flute skills well, but also introduces music background knowledge in the teaching, and cleverly encourages and influences children to experience music. I like Teacher Lis teaching very much. He not only teaches children music, but also allows them to grow up with encouragement and support. Not only did Mr. Li teach many outstanding students, but his two children were also very good (Harvard and Brown University). Such a teacher is worth recommending to more parents and children.
