We had a blast learning our choreographed dance with Cori!! She was flexible with us throughout the pandemic and our last few lessons were in the studio with her virtual but went smoothly. One positive of postponing our wedding was getting to practice our dance a lot more which was a huge hit at our reception. Definitely happy we decided to take lessons with Cori, who is a fun person and great instructor.

Cori made our first dance even better than we had imagined, yet she intently listened to exactly what we wanted from the beginning and along the way. She told us right away (and it ended up being true) that the dance would not end up looking like a cheesy, overly-choreographed first dance. She is professional and knows how to make your first dance appear both creative and natural. By the way, ours was choreographed down to the second, yet it looked natural and blew people away. She taught us how to look and feel more relaxed throughout the dance.She is a very patient, kind person. She adapted to our learning styles and we left every class excited to practice at home. If you read her philosophy on her website about dancing, it perfectly describes her approach to teaching dance. She is all about using dance to help people connect and couples grow, and nothing about competition or perfectionism (yet she made us look pretty dang amazing on the dance floor). She started our lessons teaching us how to find connection in partner dancing, which helped us create a great foundation not only for learning our first dance, but for partner dancing in the future. She is also an expert in ALL types of dances, so she can teach you a medley of a romantic rumba followed by an upbeat salsa if thats what you want!We will continue to take classes with her because we love dancing after having tried out different salsa studios in San Diego (salsa is our favorite style of dance), we loved her style of teaching the best.

Working with Cori was amazing - from the very beginning she worked to accommodate our varied and busy work schedules. Then when quarantine happened, she talked us through options to continue on and make sure our dance was ready on time! Our virtual lessons were seamless - it was like we were there with us in person, but from the comfort of our home. We were even able to learn lifts! We really enjoyed every second of it, and cant wait to kill it on our wedding night. :) Hands down, best part of the wedding planning process, thanks to Cori!

We 100% recommend learning to dance with Cori-ography. We took 8 private lessons and 3 group lessons from Cori and Mari at Cori-ography Dance and had the time of our life! We loved going to our lessons because it was a fantastic way to unwind, relax, and be ourselves during the wedding planning process. Cori is awesome!! We took a series of 5 lessons to prepare for our first dance. Cori is a great teacher! She is patient with beginners and makes it fun, and she is very good at tailoring moves to your skill or comfort level so you will look great no matter what. We felt very confident and comfortable during our first dance and everyone was blown away by our dance skills. I was skeptical about doing a choreographed first dance, but it felt very natural and fun and our guests loved it! Well be back for more group social dance lessons!

Everyone who knows my husband knows that he hates dancing. It is his least favorite thing to do (besides public speaking). We got a 12 pack of lessons from Cori for our wedding reception and did a choreographed dance that was a mash up of 4 songs. Everyone who attended our reception was in complete shock and the dance was definitely the highlight of the evening! My Wife and I love to go dancing and we consider it a cornerstone of our relationship. When we were looking for a potential dance class we wanted something focused on our connection with each other, not someplace where we dance with 5 other people each class. After our first class we knew that Cori could sense just how important dancing was to us as a way to connect. She is a great teacher who knows how to inspire confidence and explains the steps in a way that simplifies what would other wise be a daunting routine. As some one who isnt at all familiar with counting beats or remembering choreography, I always look forward to learning something new with Cori. Cori was absolutely amazing! We got the 15-class package and went over the course of 6 months. We wanted to ease into dancing since neither of us had ever danced before and she made the process easy, rewarding, and fun! She is so patient and encouraging and we ended up with a first dance that our guests absolutely loved. Her studio is clean and the perfect size and she offers lessons on nights and weekends for working couples (like us). She is also flexible allowed us to move our schedule around whenever we were out of town or a certain date didnt work. I would highly recommend Cori for your first dance, its worth it and youll blow your guests away!

Cori was patient and gave us some great tips to nail our wedding dance! We didnt want the dance to be overly choreographed, yet we wanted to make sure we looked at ease and comfortable. Cori took our vision and made it a reality! Would recommend a few sessions to any bride and groom.

I cant recommend Cori highly enough. Im a terrible dancer, but after working with Cori for about 8 sessions, my wife and I were able to pull off an incredible dance routine that our guests were all blown away by. And we had a ton of fun in the process of working with Cori.

Cori is THE BEST dance instructor to work with, my husband would say the same! We went t Cori for dance lessons for a dance we wanted to do at our wedding. She made our vision come to life. We learned so much and progressed so much after even one session with her. My favorite thing about Cori is the way she can teach you t execute complicated movements in a very conceptual way by explaining whats going on, modeling for you, and walking you though the steps until you make them part of your own muscle memory. We could self-critique, video and playback moves, modify and add to our routine, it was a complete joy, thank you Cori!!!

Cori has been a great instructor!! Our lessons have been alot of fun. She does a great job tailoring to our skill level and presents each new addition in a way that is easy to do and understand. With only a couple lessons my confidence level on the dance floor have improved greatly!!

I am so thrilled that I found Cori and her studio. I as a native San Diegan, I have tried other places and just felt like I fell through the cracks at other studios. Cori has a passion for ballroom and makes sure you have the instruction you deserve. She broke everything down to even the most minuscule detail and made sure I understood why I was moving that way and how to improve. I felt so comfortable and by the end of class, we had danced a bit and I finally felt a connection to the movements I was making. I am elated and cannot wait to go back!

When I was in college I saw an Argentine tango performance and have always wanted to learn tango since then. Ive also seen Scent of a Woman like a 100 times and thought it would be so cool to be able to pull off Pacinos moves like a pro. Anyway, I found Cori Ography and decided to try out a private lesson. It was super fun and even though I dont have any formal dance training and normally only dance when Im 8 jack and cokes deep, Cori was able to show me the moves and I was able to learn them. Yes. Me. I was able to learn tango steps in just an hour. Im not a pro but it was way more easy and way more fun than I would have ever guessed. Im going back for more classes and want to thank Cori Ography for being able to teach me (a single, straight, large, beast of a man) how to do the tango. Super grateful for you guys!! And if you want to learn to dance please call them asap. They are the best.

CORI and MARI are so great!! My (now) wife loves dancing but Im very much a beginner and from our first lesson Cori started teaching us to feel more connected/fluid/natural when we dance together. We chose a brazilian pop song by Seu Jorge for our first dance and Cori and Mari choreographed an upbeat Rumba style dance to match our routine. We went with the 8 private lesson + 2 group lesson package and by the end felt prepared to dance on our big day. Our work schedules are both pretty hectic and scheduling lessons was thankfully very flexible and they were able to accomodate us on week nights and weekends as well. It went great! We had turns, spins, leans, and a dip! Family and friends were impressed, and more importantly we had so much fun dancing together! Huge thank you to Cori and Mari for making the whole process easy and fun! I know well be back for some more group classes in the future. Couldnt recommend more highly, they are the best!

Cori is absolutely fantastic! Her passion for dance, patience and excitement for her students is evident at all times. My fiance and I found Cori-ography online with excellent reviews so we decided to go for it - we are SO happy we did. We both are fine dancing alone but neither of us had never done partner dancing before. Additionally, he is a drummer and I do not have musical background so we definitely hear music differently. Cori was super fun to work with, she has a wonderful sense of humor and made our lessons light hearted and fun. We never felt embarrassed or frustrated. The other thing I love about Cori is that she is totally down for whatever. If youve had enough of a certain dance, shell wrap it up and get excited to teach something new. That being said, I trust her judgement completely. She has suggestions of which style to learn first to gain a solid foundation that can lead into other styles, which I appreciated and was happy to go with!Aside from partner dancing, I also took part in a fun girls day workshop where we learned a dance to Grease. It was so fun! There were about 8-10 of us and Cori made it up on the spot and we were all laughing and having a great time throughout!Highly, highly recommend! We will definitely be picking our lessons back up in preparation for our wedding :)

Not only is Cori an adept teacher who connects with each of her students immediately, using common knowledge and demonstrations to help contextualize the move or step, she is knowledgeable about all types of dance and music.
