I had a haircut and pedicure done. Donna, an elderly woman, did the haircut. Jordan, a young woman, did the pedicure. Students of all ages at this school. Prices were very affordable. I would come back again since its always a different student doing services.

I was a student at this school when they first combined the barbers and cosmos together. You will cut hair and learn a lot if youre going for the cosmo. Barbers on the other hand will get left in the dust. The barber instructors that they had teaching us were not up to par with the 20+ thousand dollars we spent to attend. One instructor graduated from the school MONTHS before he started teaching there, another instructor hadnt cut hair in years and was working at a gas station before he arrived. My personal favorite was the barber instructor that literally took the clipper out of my classmates hand and said wow that looks fun how are you doing that can you teach me? She also wasnt a licensed barber she was still going through her state testing at the time. This school KILLED any motivation I had in this field and made me hate being a barber for the 4 years I was doing it, I ended up changing careers once again. I would give this school under 1 star if I could and would HIGHLY recommend people to look into becoming an apprentice. The only advice I can give to people looking into this school is RUN!!!

I went and got a hair cut. She was nice and professional. This was the second time I got my hair cut there. I was satisfied on both my cuts. I will be returning next time I need a cut. The place was clean and they took your temperature before coming in and everyone wore a mask.

Very unprofessional. The manager Jackie is involved in a relationship with an coworker which would often bring their problems to the business. Jackie d Doesn’t respect doctor order for light duties. There is a big employees turn over. Often fires employees on minor things and Jackie lies about it to her head person. The employees for the more part are good but there are an few that makes me wonder why they choose to go into cosmology. I heard employees complain and sound unhappy. I wouldn’t recommend this place for business or employment.

I went to school here for Esthetics and I loved every second!Miss Cathy, Miss Kesha, Miss Kelly and Miss Alice were my teachers, And I cannot say enough good things about them! They were fantastic. All were very patient, supportive, knowledgeable, and really cared about my education. It felt like I was part of a family.When it came time to take the State Boards, I felt fully equipped and very confident.I passed with flying colors, and I have now been working in the Beauty industry since 2015.My time at Federico Beauty Institute will always be a fond memory for me and I will forever be grateful for the foundation they gave me.I cannot recommend this beauty school enough. You won’t regret it!

As a student here, they are forcing us to sign a contract without explaining what it even means!!! We have already paid our tuition and now stating they won’t let us come to school without signing! How convenient Federico loves to steal money from students, if we don’t sign we aren’t even offered any type of refund!

I recommend hair treatment to every one with highlights, also its cheaper than others places I been before. I like & hopefully do you like too, just be patient with the students them are kinda slow sometimes, but you need to understand them are learning.

I am a part time student here at Federico Beauty Institute and I am so happy with my decision to come here. I originally was looking at a different school until my hairstylist told me to check Federico out. Once I saw the diversity with product and advanced curriculum that they offer, I was sold! 9 months and a few bad haircuts later (dont worry, doll heads only), I am at the point where I feel comfortable and confident with any cut, color or style. I went to school at Federicos back in 1994 for Esthetician. When they were located in the Howe bout Arden shopping center. (Anyone remember this place??) So when I needed a haircut recently I called to go in and get one. I was very impressed with their new location and everything was great.

I will be taking both of my girls there for a wash, press, and trim real soon. So far with speaking to a representative over the phone, my experience has been pleasant.Well see how they can handle black hair. Ive seen one example so far, and must say that I was very impressed thats why I am willing to give them a try. Price is affordable, THANK GOD, because the price of black salons.....this sista cannot do. Update coming soon😌

I went in to get a hair cut by Dustin Morris and was extremely stoked on the cut he gave me. He has incredible skills at shaping and also cutting. The best part was the shampoo and warm towels. I felt like I was in a luxury spa! Federico is a great place! Go get your hair cut by Dustin, you wont be dissapointed!

I went here for esthetician studies. I can NOT give it a 5 stars nor can I give it 1. The school course has its ups and downs. it was informative, and most of the teachers seemed to be well knowledge in their fields. HOWEVER, some of the teachers in MY OPINION are just TOO OLD and out of date with the latest trends, so they were unable to answer some of the questions I had in regards to new trends and new technology coming up so that was a bummer. Also favoritism was a huge downer because the teachers made it VERY CELAR who they favored and who they didnt. But this is something that happens every where not just here. Also not all the teachers are in cinque with guide lines, some teachers would tell you one thing then another teacher would contradict that, so it was confusing. Do I feel that the school prepared me well, yes I do. but the over all experience was just not the best in my opinion. Not thee worst but not the best either. Do I recommend this school, sure. it served its purpose and I did learn enough of what I needed to learn to pass my state board and do the basics of what I needed to do to get started. Did the training go above and beyond on expectations, no. Do I feel I would have gotten a BETTER education some where else, I dont know, I have no basis to compare it to.

I brought my mother to receive just a basic eyebrow waxing and facial. I received excellent service from a student. The problem I had was that the place had roaches crawling around the place which was pretty gross to begin with and another huge issue I had was with the instructor Chennel, not only was she rude but I kept overhearing her talk about political views to the students and constant bullying towards the students. I believe this instructor is a huge issue in this school and needs to be removed.

Went in last week and got a clean fade from a student named Leo Maldonado. He is a very talented student who i will be booking my appointments with going forward. The school was very clean and staff extremely helpful. Keep up what youre doing!

I only trust Dustin with my hair! He really knows what hes doing and is passionate about his work and is always professional and friendly. Come to him and you wont be disappointed.

I went to Federicos for a hair cut on May 9, 2014. I was nervous but Maribel did a wonderful job. She trimmed up my uneven, short hair and helped cover the areas where no hair was growing. I will definitely be going back and I hope Maribel will be there to help curl my hair. It was a positive experience and I will be going back.

I attended the barbering program at Federico Beauty Institute and it was an AMAZING experience! I say this because I had a very clear path and plan of what I was going to accomplish and what I expected out of the program. I graduated in 10 months because 1.i came to school 2. I wanted to be a student ambassador (those extra hours helped) 3.i came to school!! (see the pattern lol) I would recommend Federico to anyone who is interested in HAIR! you may think that the grass is greener on the other side, but guess what, youll still have to mow that other grass ;) my success was made by myself with all of the help of my educators and staff. You get out what YOU put in :)

The students are sweet but cant perform basic mani/pedi services. My mother and I got spa mani pedis and while the students were very nice they cant shape a nail properly, do some simple cuticle care, and the cheap polish they piled on peeled off the next day. I had to ask just to get the person to file my nails. Definitely not going back

*Update 10/26/17 Elena Pershina was AMAZING but graduated and I will miss her! Molly Crivello (Elena too) did their first relaxer on me. I am amazed by the results and how it came out perfectly. They BOTH did high quality rollersets as my style and service and I couldnt have asked for the style to come out any better! I am however deeply sorry for my anxiety but I AM very grateful for their willingness to LEARN and GROW and because of THAT...they have increased their skills! THATS what it means to become a good hairdresser...when you can work under pressure, learn, and take direction. **Update** I absolutely adore this school, its prices, the students who are -willing to learn- and style different types of hair, the team leads, and even the RECEPTIONIST who are ALWAYS so kind! I have been going here for months now and I hope to continue for many more to come.** Second time here...I can honestly say that this is a great school. Not only do they have products ethnic salons use, they have very good customer service and students here willing to learn and take the customers requests. However, thats not it! Their prices are truly amazing! If it goes well getting a relaxer, I think I have found the IT spot. So far...so good.

Went in to get a haircut today for the first time ever, I just want to cry ! I asked specifically what I wanted and did not get it . The length was not what I wanted it to be and once it was too short there was nothing she can do to fix up my hair. Worst experience, dont plan on ever going there ever again . Very disappointed. 👎🏼

Im a cosmetology student here and its the best one there is!! We do so much for the community and we listen to our clients!

I was a barber student at Federico. The only reason i gave this school any stars is because they get you well prepared for the state board exam. Other than that, the school really doesnt care about the barbering program (or at least consistently makes it seem so). If youre looking to enroll in the cosmo program, this school is for you! But if youre looking for barbering, trust me, look elsewhere. Please dont judge a book by its cover like i did. The school is aesthetically pleasing on the walk through. But once they lock down your money, thats all they care about... Your money. They cant hold on to any good barbering instructors because even they cant stand all the BS that goes on at the school. I was there for one year and i had 5 different barbering instructors come and go. Only two were there the whole time i was. And one of those left right after i did. Please dont go to the barbering program here. I am now a licensed barber and i am embarrassed to say that i went here.

I enrolled into the aesthetics program at Federico Beauty Institute as a part-time student in late January 2015. Let me tell you, my experience at Federico was no where near my past experience. It was amazing! Everything and everyone has a flaw somewhere. No one and no thing is perfect. If Federico had flaws, they were so MINOR. Ive heard people get offended or upset about certain things like having to walk 250 feet from the parking lot to the back entrance, cost of the courses, or not having enough makeup courses (etc.), BUT they probably havent been to a hoodrat school like I did. They dont understand how Federico goes above and beyond than the other surrounding schools. Ill tell you about the ways that Federico EXCEEDED my expectations and why Im a proud Federico graduate:The facility: Federico is the biggest beauty school in America.The facility is HUGE and clean. Each program (cosmetology, esthetics, and barbering) has its own training area. The Barbers and Cosmos have their own classrooms and areas to get some hands-on practice and their own client floors. The esthetics program has two classrooms, a huge training room (8 beds, 8-1 multi-function machines) where we learned our hands-on material, 7 private rooms for client services, an overflow room with 6 beds for clients, a wet room (spa capsule, Vichy shower, and hydrotherapy bed), and a spray-tanning room. The lobby is clean, open, and inviting. The beauty boutique is packed with effective, must-have professional products. The Café is on campus. Its convenient, inexpensive, and delicious!The staff:The ladies at the front desk are so nice and helpful!The staff at the cafe are awesome to chat with.The staff in the office are so patient, kind, and helpful.The esthetic teachers are amazing educators. They only want whats best for you. In the short time spent for the program, they become your respected mentors.The entire Federico staff aims for your success and nothing less. There is not one staff member that made me feel as if they didnt care or wanted me to fail.The staff cares so much about the students. Theyre not like other schools where once youre done, theyre done with you and are on to the next. The school provides alumni with opportunities for job placement, advanced education, and resume buildingFinally, the education:I feel CONFIDENT. How many people can complete a beauty college program and say that? I havent met much. Ive had in-depth theory and thorough hands-on experiences. After completing the esthetic program, I feel very able and confident to perform:Basic and more advanced facials, chemical peels, electrical facials (galvanic, indirect, and direct high frequency), body treatments (body wraps, solar bronzing, spray tanning, and body retexturing), and waxing (hard and soft wax). These educators will not lead you wrong. We are provided thorough step-by-step protocols. Every single day is planned and its posted up on day one so we can easily know what to expect and prepare for it. The educators are experienced and help us UNDERSTAND what we are doing. We are provided a ton of opportunities to learn.Wrapping up my lengthy review here,You get you what you pay for and more.I paid $1,500 for a hoodrat school and I got $500 worth of education. While others might say that Federico is on the higher priced side, look at what they offer. Look at the opportunities you have! I made the mistake of going to a cheap school for one license and Im glad that I didnt make that mistake for my second one. Im leaving with confidence in esthetics.If youre looking for a beauty college, schedule an appointment with Serena or Bobby and get in for a tour! Youll fall in love and you wont regret it. ;)
