Ive been taking flamenco classes with Laura for two years, and her classes are the highlight of my week. I started out taking classes in Spain with a teacher from Andalusia. When I moved back to the US, I didnt think Id find any decent flamenco classes, but much to my surprise, Ive grown much more studying with Laura than I did in Spain. Laura knows flamenco in and out and has the ability to explain the complex art form in a way few others do. She has a gentle yet effective way of translating its mysteries for those who didnt grow up surrounded by it. I would encourage anyone who has even a spark of interest in learning flamenco to be courageous and give it a try. You might just surprise yourself. :)

From weekly classes to local destination retreats to even international escapes - Lauras expertise and focus on technique combined with her ability to teach it in a way that makes sense is priceless! She brings some of the best sought after performers from Spain to Portland, and curates opportunities bridging connection with local and international flamenco enthusiasts. Theres no competition. Flamenco is not a style that requires a partner. You can be any age, any body shape, any level of expertise and still find friendship and community through dance and culture.

Laura! She is amazing!!! Caring, patient, resourceful & well respected in the flamenco community in Jerez. I would go back with her to Jerez or any of her other tours in a heart beat if given the opportunity. And I just love how all the ladies in the group are so kind and supportive of each other. We reviewed and practiced together after classes and had so much fun hanging out at shopping, restaurants, shows, bodega, cante class, at the rooftop or at the cozy common area of the apartment. So happy I met these special ladies, we had bonded and built so much fond memories in the two weeks together. In essence, it was truly a fun & fulfilling learning & travel experience that I absolutely would recommend to anyone who is on a flamenco journey!

I had the most wonderful experience on this trip! I had never been to Richland Wa. and i have lived in Seattle since 1979. Its beautiful! The event was put together by an amazingteam and provided transportation to the wineries, restaurants and flamenco classes. Laura Onizuka classes were incredible.....Palmas class, learning letras, new choreography and some work with castenets. Met up with some incredible, amazing women. A really fun weekend.
