As a former student, I can attest that Hayden can provide you with the necessary resources needed to succeed. During my 4 years, there were nice perks such as free tutoring, free ACT testing, and great staff that would push you and encourage you to succeed (Ramon Martinez!). There was a dual enrollment opportunity and math classes up to Calculus level for those interested in STEM careers. Despite its bad rep because of its location, this school can adequately prepare you for anything you want to achieve. As with any other school, its what you make of it. With enough effort, anything is possible. One thing that I can say would be better was if the books were a bit more updated and unruly students were dealt with adequately. They can truly make a class hell repeatedly without the teacher being able to do much about it other than simply letting them into the class the next day to give them a hard time again.

Could be better if they add a game room where all people can hangout chill play couple rounds of pool and table tennis or few arcade games to give some students moment of relief

What happens when you take the term Community out of this institutions title? Because I have been noticing that Carl Hayden High School is being written instead of the technically correct name Carl Hayden Community High School. Perhaps the local community or the federal educational system (hello MIT) does not know? Also, this high school needs to have the swimming pool which is right across the street annexed and open which is a local issue, although the state can open that pool year round because it is at least 100 degrees on most days (especially after school). It is coincidental how the former Senator Carl Hayden who is the longest serving U.S. Congressman ever (besides Congressman Byrd) battled California over water rights to the Colorado River earlier in the twentieth century; now we at the high school named after Congressman Hayden are still wanting access to rights to water for physical well-being. The PE Department should look into this. How about a bridge over Roosevelt Ave for easy access.Sincerely Yours,Mr. John A. Corona, M.Ed. in Educational Leadership
