Great school. Taught me the value system of what it means to be a life long learner. A lot of teachers genuinely care and the coaches care too. Got a great public school education that led to bring prepared mentally for a 4 year university and a job that I love. Changed my life for the better and is responsible for who I am today. Its where I networked to get my first job and courted my boyfriend and learned so much. Great people, great students and great staff. A lot of people wrote reviews but have never even been here. I went there and proud Acorn!

Its been a full year since my teenager unexpectedly had to move and change highschools. I have to admit, I held my breath but the cool cucumber go nuts mentality at Live Oak High School seems to be their MO. They do keep popping off the tree, you can feel and see cheerful moments going on as you walk through campus almost like you missed something awesome that just happened. After the third time I realized, its like that all the time! A vibe busy and motivating. Going places, taken names, snap snap snap. Yet the sincerity fills in and holds this fun that high school memories are made of. After month two in full swing there were zero complaints, no drama...no negativity. In contrast to my highschool days and her first school for sure! So, is there something more to an acorn than what you typically hear? It is that this is a life long connection. A LIVE connection, all time- real time. It will always remain...I got it! Old oaks, branches and roots! Now, do roots come before branches? If we zoom way out and change our perspective, pause and acknowledge surface perceptions... like how many know how to cook acorns? Why Acorns? If weve got your attention, youll more than likely discover an atmosphere that provides confidence.Seeing her peel away layers of uncertainty transfers to me as I come back to the Bay. We all thought it would be smart to head east. It would be cheaper to own a home, we get more for our buck, life would be simpler, we would have less stress... Well, roots technically do come first. As a kid growing up in Castle Rock Colo. the acorn capital of the world, it seemed, I was told that acorns are unique, hearty, not easily peeled and not that tasty and no recipe can change these nuts. Im glad I understand our schools dignified mascot and proud of my daughter and her new leaf shes turned over and grew strong and so fast. We left the old school with a 2.0, now a year later she is telling me Thursday she will be accepting (once again), an honor roll award of 3.5! Congratulations to all Acorns. Go nuts!

School has all of that cool stuff but doesn’t really respect its students, it’s almost as if you are living in communist Russia.

Whats with the 5 star ratings ALONG WITH the rants? You get one star because there is no empty star. No child left behind here, unless you are a white American of course!
