The instructors are great, the lessons are educational, I was a part of WT53 zoom Michelle and Whitney where both Amazing teachers and made the class FUN and full of laughs 😄😁🤔 I drove with Cameron and Issac they both are great instructors. 😁 I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND DDS if you or someone u know if looking for a driving school 🏫🚗🚘

I am an older new driver who had zero relevant or recent experience behind the wheel who paid for twelve one hour classes. I had some early issues with scheduling online on my own, as the system is calibrated towards a younger crowd that have to follow specific laws about driving (one hour limit to every 48 hours). However, customer service was quick to answer and quick to assist.My instructor was Isaac Hanna, and I cannot speak to the quality of the other instructor(s) that work there. I also did not take any in-person classes or my knowledge test at the school. Isaac is an EXCELLENT teacher. Explanations are simple and effective, easy to understand and most importantly: specific and safe. Very personable and attentive, and equally importantly he is as calm as a rock.These factors are all extremely important because if a student detects stress in their teacher, that stress transmits and impacts your ability to drive and learn. Being specific is important, because vague instructions will leave you wondering what to do and leave room for error. Its important to be able to get along with your teacher, because if you dread getting into the car with them then its going to hard to learn.But most importantly he will NOT put you on the road if he thinks you could be a danger to yourself or others. The younger students might only care about passing, but I specifically cared about being safe, and I am glad I chose this school, location, and teacher because I am not only confident now that I can drive myself, but Im confident I can safely drive with others in the vehicle as well. He helped me form good habits and called out every bad habit he saw developing. Isaac probably saved mine or someone elses life.Absolutely wonderful driving school and I cannot recommend it enough.

The teachers were helpful and brilliant teachers. They are some of the best in the business at teaching the law as the law is. This isnt 5-star because 5 is perfection and nothing in existence is perfect, nonetheless the school and staff are effective and skilled.I also conduct and participate in a number of different activities on a regular basis. The schedule available was perfect and fit right in. Had it not been for this school, I wouldve had to give something up in order to learn how to drive, and as important as the skill is, it is very difficult to give up something youve been doing for a long time.

Isaac taught the class portion of the school, and did a great job! Michelle is who taught most of the driving portion. Michele was very patient and nice! She does what it takes to teach students what they need to know. I had both of my teenagers go through the school at the same time. I recommend Monroe Defensive Driving School.

I dont normally write reviews, but my experience here provoked me to this time. As a student going through the course, it made my life miserable. First of all, the building the classroom is located in is old, water damaged and mildewed. Second, the curriculum itself is designed poorly. It wastes time, isnt as effective, and is boring. Not to mention that you are required to do numerous projects at home which is absolutely unnecessary. Going here felt more like a chore than a educational experience. My instructor wasnt very inspiring either. It was like they didnt want to be there, but who could blame them. Their customer was atrocious as well. Seven months after I successfully completed the course and it was time for me to take my tests to get licensed, they let us schedule the tests in the wrong order! Shouldnt an employee know their own company well enough to not let obvious things like this happen? After we got that mess sorted out, I passed the tests and went to get my license, but it couldnt be that easy. Apparently, I didnt complete the course even though I did seven months earlier. Someone had to have known something when we were scheduling things. Talk about uncommunicative. Since things were getting so screwed up, my mother wanted to talk to the supervisor for the customer service lady, who was on vacation. Parents, if you want a driving school that will cause you anger, frustration, and complaining from your son or daughter, this is the place! Students, if you want an unpleasant two months that will make your life a living hell, this is the place! If you dont want those things, keep a hundred foot radius from this place.

Its a great school and I met lots of good people here. I had the class taught by Isaac and most of my drives were with Michelle but the place is fun and they show plenty of examples of what happens if you make a mistake behind the wheel. The people and instructors are great and nice and very helpful. I would highly recommend to my friends and family.

This was a horrible experience for my teen daughter. We signed her up for this school largely because of the location and convenience to our home, but the instructor traumatized her so much that she refused to return to class for day 2. In fact, it is now two years since our aborted attempt to teach her to drive, and she is STILL afraid to get behind the wheel. The first day, the instructors show lots of crash videos to try to scare the teens into being careful. Unfortunately, the instructor added additional YouTube videos of spectacular accidents, some of which showed fatalities of semi-trucks crushing small cars. To this day, my 18-year-old still refuses to even sit in the front seat, let alone attempt driving.Additionally, they rent space in a very old, musty building. The room has clearly had water damage and smells strongly of mold and mildew, which many people (including myself) are highly allergic to. The entire situation is extremely uncomfortable and unprofessional, and I recommend that all prospective drivers look elsewhere. They also charge significantly more than all local competitors.My one positive comment about the company is that they DID refund our tuition money. Of course, this doesnt make up for the psychological damage done to my daughter.

I am the mother of one of the students. My older son took his test for his license here also. I chose this place after reading the reviews on DDS and safe 2 go. Even though DDS is $40 more than safe 2 go, I chose DDS because they had such good reviews whereas safe 2 go receives pretty poor reviews. DDS has been awesome!!! My daughter was very nervous mainly because any type of school environment stresses her out, but Isaac (the instructor) is great. He is very personable and down to earth. He makes the kids feel comfortable and confident. Anyone reading this I strongly suggest paying the extra money and putting your kids here!!!

Issac taught the class and was a great teacher. It is a convenient location for after school classes I took the bus from the high school to middle school and then walked the few blocks. I drove with Issac and Michelle over the 6 drives. When you sign up for the class schedule drive times right away. When class starts it gets hard to get them scheduled due to multiple classes running at the same time period. Overall a great class. Have not taken the state test yet.

Ive had experience with 3 different driving schools and I can say that Defensive Driving School is by far the best that Ive had the pleasure of working with. They have good curriculum and treat both their customers and employees very well. If a problem ever arises they are more than happy to go out of their way to make it right!

Monroe Defensive Driving School is a great program and has really helped my driving skills. You learn everything you need in a classroom and practice all those skills one on one with an instructor. The staff is kind and patient and help you feel comfortable driving. I would recommend it to all new drivers.

I mean Drivers Ed is still Drivers Ed but I had a pretty good experience! I had Michelle as a teacher and she is pretty bomb!! Also out of my sybilings experiences at other places in Monroe mine was definitely the best. The office always responded quickly and we were treated well.

They make studying for tests easy. However, you want to review and prepare ahead of time. The instructors here ate kind and very knowledgeable and full of life experience. This is a great school for beginning drivers. They will make supper heroes out of all of us!

Ive recently taken my drivers ed class at Defensive Driving School, Monroe location. I had an amazing experience with this location and felt that I got all of the information necessary to make me a safe driver. 10/10 would recommend to future drivers ed attendees. P.S. Michele is super cool.

All the teachers and everyone is super nice. Not as strict as the website makes it seem. I live in Duvall and have heard Puget Sound Driving Academy is terrible. Really enjoy is and is highly recommended. One thing that is kind of scary is when Isaac “fakes” a crash for fun, I personally thought it was funny but some people won’t, so be prepared for that.

This defensive driving school is the best in Monroe. The instructors are unfailingly kind and the curriculum is clear and orderly. I would recommend ( and have recommended) this school to any learning driver.

I enjoyed my instructors they were all helpful and friendly especially Isaac. My older sister went to Safe to Go and did not have a positive experience there. My older brother graduated from Defensive Driving school and enjoyed his experience here too.

Very interesting experience i would recommend it to a friend which i have and i was very please with the services they provided. No complaints just as a student it can be a little boring at times but the teachers are very kind to the students and offer very useful information.

I was very nervous to take my test due to having taken one before at another testing place and having a bad experience I decided to try Monroe Defensive Driving School. Im glad I did! My instructor Isaac was very considerate and calm throughout the entire test and made me feel very comfortable. I really like Isaac as a teacher, and this course is supper helpful for passing the state tests. It’s a great school. It’s a safe to go. We also did not end up watching the red asphalt video, so that was a plus

I have loved my expiriance at this driving school. I enjoyed my teacher, and thought that he really presented the information well, and that I absorbed it more easily than I expected. This class has made me more aware of others on the road, and inspired me to be a better driver.

Came here after a nightmare of an experience with Safe2Go after already taking their classes trying to schedule my written and exam, and I am so glad that I did. Instructor was very friendly and helpful. Should have taken Defensive classes to begin with. Would Defensive recommend to friends and family.

This is a great class for all new drivers because of the amazing, kind, and helpful instructors. It’s also easy to enroll and not a very difficult class to pass if you pay attention and do your homework.

Before I took drivers ed I was a bit nervous because I didnt know what to expect, but I actually really enjoyed the program! Michelle Stowell is such a great teacher, and I enjoy her easy going, fun personality! She was really helpful in class and made the tests easy to study for and non-stressful, so I felt really prepared! She is super calm and not at all stressful on drives too! My older brother and sister went through the drivers ed program in monroe too an they enjoyed it as well! I would definitely recommend it! :)

Although driving school admittedly isnt the most interesting class I learned quite a bit from this class and knew things my peers who went to other driving schools didnt know. The class is kind of a pain but being able to drive makes it worth it and I definitely recommend this school if youre looking to get your license early.
