I had a wonderful time visiting the FVI Miramar Campus today! The faculty and staff were very friendly and offered a great experience. The atmosphere was 10/10. The classrooms were very spacious and high tech. Overall great experience.

Of course nursing school is not easy, but here at FVI school of nursing they make it less stressful by providing a lot of resources to help us through the program.They definitely want us to succeed. I am a new student at FVI School of Nursing and the admissions process was so easy to navigate with the help of the Senior Admissions Representative (Arelis), the Director of Admissions (Carlos), the Financial Aid TEAM, and the process of submitting documents. They were directing me and supporting me the entire way which made the entire process seamless. I am taking Anatomy and Physiology II with Dr. Lozano and she has been a phenomenal professor; very organized, personable, accessible, and always willing to help all her students. I am super thrilled that I took this step at the RIGHT school.

I would not recommend this school for nursing to anyone. Not because of the amazing professors but because of the director of nursing MS.WALWEMA. she is a dictator leader who doesn’t want to see anyone succeed. She has no integrity in her. She’s ok with people failing. I think It gives her a sense of happiness knowing students aren’t doing well. She has no respect for the professors always interrupting lectures and taking over class. She changes the course work that professors worked hard to make for the students and decides what will be on exams and what assignments students should be given. She will probably be changing the next exams so that the students will fail. She is driving all her amazing professors away to quit. Maybe than she will be happy because she will be able to teach every class. She doesn’t respect the students, you can’t talk to her with out her trying to intimidate you. If you tell her how you feel she then turns around and uses it against you. Meaning, she will make your life hell because you speak up. Even this review will make her wrath come down. I think there should be more important things as the director she should focus on. The president has been informed of this but nothing has been done. Nursing school is hard enough students don’t need dictatorship directors to make it even harder.

My mom just finished her studies here and although her English is not the best she was able to complete it and work in her career. Fvi is a school that really cares about you and students regardless of age, language barrier or anything of that nature. Im a nursing student at FVI and I couldnt be happier. The staff and professors are very attentive and involved in your success. FVI offers many resources to maximize your learning experience. My med-surg professor asked the class what can she do to help us improve and what resources are helping us and which are not. This really made me feel like our time is valuable to her by making sure that all the resources she is providing us with is helping us succeed. I highly recommend FVI School of Nursing!

Where do I begin? Everything started out fine to say the least, the professors were very educated in their subjects and have provided a lot to the students and are overall exceptional. However, there was always a problem with administration, I’ve had a meeting with them where I made them aware of what was going on and no one did anything. There was disruptive people in class and all administration did was interrupt our class for a “motivational speech about respect” (I thought it was funny considering they don’t respect the students opinions) and no disciplinary actions were taken. I went to the lab 3 times throughout the whole 9 months of this course and yes I’m aware we have a pandemic going on. However they let the nursing students back and no one else because administration only cares about the nursing students and not the rest of the programs. About half our tuition goes to the labs and we have not used them and we still have to pay for it, so where is my tuition money going to? I graduated with a 4.0 GPA and I’m thrilled to recommend the professors, but at the end of the day the school only cares about money.

I recommend anyone who willing to start a career to go here.Its really some good staff and I enjoyed my experiences at FVI..If I could go back I would...Ms.Bello and Ms.Daisy even Fabian and others I had were Fabulous instructors.I really thank Ms.Vanessa for being there when things was going a little rocky..I graduated as a MA and it went faster then I thought..This school really do be appreciating there students that is welcome here..💙

I had a great experience from the beginning with FVI, from the moment I ask for information about their medical assistant program .Vanessa has been a great help getting me a externship after I finish all my classes, I’m very happy about it, I got into Sanitas and I’m very happy and excited for what’s coming and I will definitely continue my education with FVI.

If I could give this school a 0 I would. This review is to inform all students who are considering the nursing program about what you are going to encounter. The teachers at this school are absolutely amazing. Pro. Rounds, both Prof. Perez, Prof.Santos, Prof. Panrenteau and Ive heard great things about Prof. Forbes. HOWEVER, THE BIGGEST DISEASE AT THIS SCHOOL IS DIRECTOR MARIA WALWEMA!!!!!!!!! This director was once previously a Concorde Institute employee where she single handedly dismantle their nursing program which is no longer in existence. Im not sure if its her constant interruptions in class, God like persona, her dictatorship like attitude amongst the professor, or her cringing I have a black husband so Im down with your cause identity. This lady is a mess. We are frequently unprepared due to her lack of setting up tutoring sessions on doing things such as dosage calculations (after the Pharmacology teacher was fired for her lack of teaching), docucare, and care plans. She has been reported to the owner of the school, board of nursing and her other superiors yet because of their misguided impression of who she is nothing has been done. She does not allow her staff to have complete autonomy over their curriculum and allow them to grade or teach as they please...... and any moment that she has an epiphany about work that needs to be added on, she puts students in a bind to complete them in a timely fashion. The school is up for accreditation and we can only hope that the 3 students who are the first class to take the NCLEX will do well. However, with many students failing and leaving the school due to this Director Im not sure if the requirements will be met. Please dont be fooled about other nursing reviews on google in reference to FVI, half of the students are asked to complete a positive review to counteract the negative ones. Ive never heard of the Director of Nursing grading midterm care plans, disrupting class to undermine a teacher, intimidate students to not speak up, grade clinical test outs, and just down right be a condescending human being. So, in closing nursing school is already stressful enough choose a school where they build you up and where the nursing director doesnt seek to destroy you from successfully transitioning to the next term. For all of this drama go to an accredited institute. It almost seems like she doesnt want us to pass and has hopes of us becoming another Concorde statistic. Hopefully, the owner will come to the school and listen to the students grievances and finally make a change. The school is not one woman, its all of us. Maybe one day she will recognize that before FVI sees its demise. I guarantee you that the owner will not respond to this review due to its accuracy and frankness. I’ve completed one year at FVI Miramar and I absolutely love the program! The staff and professors are so loving and they really care about their students. I chose this school because there was no waiting list and I was able to start immediately! They also offer free tutoring for your entry Hesi exam, how cool 😎 is that!!! This is my first semester in clinical and its very rigorous but the staff and professors are there to lend a helping hand!!

I am currently a student in FVIs Networking & Cybersecurity program and have nothing but good things to say about the school and their faculty/staff. So far I have had Roger, Leo, and Miss Beverly as teachers and they are fantastic. They are all Subject Matter Experts in the courses they cover and you can tell as much by how comfortable and familiar they are with the material covered in each class. They are patient and understanding and they do their best to accommodate each student and their specific needs. The class sizes are great (7-12 for me) so they are able to give their attention to each student. On the admin side Miss Priscilla is wonderful and will make sure you understand everything and have all the info you need before making the final decision to attend.I am taking the online classes due to COVID-19 (yay fun /s) but the labs on their online course platform (Testout LabSim) are very good at getting you familiar with the hands on functions of networking and cybersecurity so you dont lose out in regards to not being able to meet in person. If you are new to IT or are re-entering it after some time away like myself, this program is a great tool to learn about IT and be prepared for CompTIA Certifications & actually working in IT afterwards. Overall 12/10 would attend again :)

Let me start off by advising prospective students that NO ONE PERSON MAKES OR BREAKS ANY PROGRAM OR SCHOOL, YOU ALONE ARE IN CONTROLL OF YOUR FUTURE AND WHEREVER IT MAY OR MAY NOT TAKE YOU AND YOUR SUCCESS. It seems so simple of an idea but it’s the hardest concept that we as humans grasp, if you work and dedicate yourself you will succeed if you blame your failures on everyone else then you will never grow into the next level. Jump in with eyes open and make sure that YOU are ready for the commitment it takes to obtain the Goal that you have set for yourself. I am a single mother, working full time and attending school full time with an A/B average, it’s not easy it takes sacrifice but if I can make the commitment to do it so can you if you really want it.Let me get to the point of this review. Professor Maria Walwema has been and still currently is an RN as reported by the State of Florida and in excellent standing with no disciplinary actions on her record. She is not only a Nurse but an educator and a damn good one at that. I have not had the pleasure to have her as a professor yet but in my interactions with her and watching her interactions with other students I have seen her work tirelessly to give the students of FVI every opportunity she can to succeed. She has given of herself and she is the kind of person who wants to get to know each and every student not only on an academic level but a personal. She is invested in the success of every student not just because of numbers but because she wants to know that the nurses that come out of this program and are going into the workforce are quality! What a great feeling it must be for all the educators at FVI to walk into a hospital and see their student successful as a nurse.As far as Samantha I think from your review that you have a personal issue with Professor Walwema and If that is the case, I encourage you to speak with her personally woman to woman. Although don’t know what happened while she was at another school, I don’t care. If her husband is Black, White, Hispanic, etc. I don’t care. I myself have made mistakes that I wish I could take back and I have run with the wrong crowds at times, haven’t you, haven’t we all? I have learned a lot from my past but If I was judged by only my past then I could never embrace what my future holds. I encourage you to embrace your future and let go of the past once you do this your success will be limitless.

FVI was very helpful in my education as an MA, I especially learned a lot from my teachers Maria Bello, Fabian Gonzalez and Selma Garcia. I am currently working as an MA and I was able to have an externship where I gained some valuable experience thanks to Vanessa Perez, who made sure my externship went well before officially working as an MA.

I am a recent graduate from the Medical Assistant program at FVI SCHOOL OF NURSING. My experience during my studies was amazing, and I forever will be grateful to Dr Fabian Gonzalez, Maria Bello and Dr Alexandra Botero, for all their help, instruction and teachings during my time there. Florida Vocational Institute is an amazing school. The professors and resources there are phenomenal.. professors like Roger, Kenneth, Beverly, and Erik are wonderful and push you to be the best and make sure you understand everything you need to know. Currently in the RN program where the Pharmacology teacher lacks the common tools to teach a class. She refuses to teach us dosage Calculations which is a major need for our success.Our whole entire class failed the first exam and she blamed all of us.The previous class had similar issues and the school has still not dealt with this conundrum. If this is a reflection of how this program will go beware!!!!

I am so happy with FVI and the assistance provided. I will be moving out of state and career services still assisted me with my resume and made sure i had my portfolio ready to work as an Medical Assistant anywhere I go. I will go to Georgia but know that i will receive anything needed no matter where i go. The internship was amazing, in a pediatric office which was just what i wanted. The experience will never be forgotten or erased.

This school has helped me tremendoulsy. They are very engaging and are very eager to teach. I came here with little knowledge about cybersecurity and IT and now I am on track for my Net+ and Security+. I had a great experience here at FVI, in the end they helped me a lot with securing a job in a pharmacy right near my home. I am now PTCB certified only a few weeks removed from graduating due to the great teachings of my instructors. FVI Miramar has been very good to me. Every class I had hands on learning and all the instructors took their time with me to make sure I understood everything.

I just graduated from the Medical Assistant program i had an amazing instructor named Fabian Gonzalez, he was a key person during my time at FVI. I also want to mention Career Services for the patience she had with me and everyone in class. I highly recommend this school for studying any career because they really care about you. I had the opportunity to do my externship at Sanitas Medical Center and was able to do EKG’s, Phlebotomy, and all the functions of a medical assistant as a student. It was an amazing experience and I was even offered to stay with them and encouraged to apply before even finishing my hours. Really soon I hope to be working as a Medical Assistant with Sanitas Medical Center!

I just graduated from school in PCT, my experience was excellent, teachers are excellent super, very prepared and competent. I am a graduate of pct, I recommend the school I have the best teachings with them very grateful to the institution.
