The teachers and staff are very attentive and fun. I will always be grateful to them. My ELI classmates are and will be my friends. It was a unique experience that if I could, I would repeat it. My experience at FIU-ELI was the best. If you really want to learn English and have fun this is the right place for you. Professors are great and the entire team is like a family; they always try to make a great environment for students because most of them are far from home and because they really want you learn a good English. I enrolled in two terms at ELI when I arrived to Miami. It is a top place to learn English. Their outstanding professors, especially Professor Larry Herde, create a perfect environment to improve your skills. There are 6 different levels, so you are placed with peers of similar level. You practice grammar, vocabulary, writing, and communication, so you are totally prepared to pass exams like TOEFL or GRE. Furthermore, the labs sessions are really helpful, for they use superb applications to improve by your own. I passed my TOEFL exam with a score of 109 after assisting to the ELI. In addition, they prepared a lot of amazing activities, including significative national days, so you are understanding Miamis culture while you learn. Finally, the students different background allows you to learn from other cultures and find amazing people. I totally recommend it!

I was part of ELI for just 2 terms. My time there was the best moments that I ever had in Miami. Professors are exceptional and extremely good, your English will improve beyond words because they pay attention to every single detail. Ive attended a 3-week exchange program, it was amazing.

My experience was fast and intense cuz I just had 1 month for being part of few students of a exchange program by my college here in Brazil, nevertheless I’ve never learned so much about English in my life when I was in ELI, all the teachers are amazing and all the Team ELI gave me all the support I needed to learn as much as I can in a short period of time. The English Language Institute is truly a place filled with affable energy. The staff and faculty are highly invested in the needs of the students. The students do seem to learn effectively in the midst of an environment that encourages them to go further in their academic endeavors. This is a great place to be.

I am so excited that I studied here. When I took courses here, I had a low level of my English. Every month, I improved Grammar, Reading, Listening, Writing, and listening skills. I became more and more professional in these ways. These courses helped to break my language barrier.

The environment at the ELI is wonderful, the teacher are not only helpful but they are approachable. I love coming to the ELI everyday. I also enjoy the events they have, sometimes theyre small like a pizza lunch but sometimes they even take us to Islands of Adventure in Orlando!

Teacher was great, but missed two of ten classes, no make up. The course was supposed to cover accent reduction, but it only focused on idioms. I learned a lot, but it could have been better.

Not only they rose my knowledge of grammar and reading of the English language but also my self-confidence in writing, something I never thought was possible.

If you want to learn english because youre an international student, for business, or even just for fun, this place is awesome. The english school is located in a beautiful campus and a beautiful city. Every single instructor that taught me was great. The faculty members were very nice and friendly. This place really makes sure that you are learning the language unlike other english schools in Miami. Although that you have stay from morning till 4pm if you are coming as a full time student with an F1 visa, youd really miss the school as soon as you get home after classes, or at least that was me. They organize really nice events every once in a while, so you have more fun on top of the fun you have in class. Yooo, the students diversity is crazy. I met people from over 15 countries in a couple of months. Although the tuition might be too much for some people, I would say that youre getting what you pay for. Overall great school!!

My experience at FIU was incredible, I made many friends that when I return, I hope to see them again, as do the teachers, now with my photography, I have many photo projects in mind that I would like to do, I miss the university a lot and Im sure Ill be back soon

Studying at ELI changed my understanding of English courses, as I had never taken a similar course before. It is a very well structured course, with excellent teachers and focused on the cognitive aspect. There is no waste of time !!! It was a challenging experience for me because at 50 I was among the majority of teenage students, but I was very well received, especially by the teachers, and I learned a lot !! Strong hug!! Miss you!!
