I always go to Glitz because it’s a good price and I always feel very chill there. I went short on my hair for the first time in several years so I was a little nervous but Darak took his time and was attentive to detail and it came out way better than I even thought it would be! Then Nichole blew it dry and styled it and didn’t even charge me but made it look even more awesome!! I usually have a good experience but this was the best!! I can tell they both enjoy their job and we’re very friendly but professional. Thank you so much!!! 😄😄😄

Absolutely love this school. The barbers always do a great job on my sons hair. Its the only place I take him too. Everyones always super nice. Was even able to get a quick trim as he was getting his hair cut. Be sure to get the punch card, been coming over a year and just found out about it.

I went to Glitz School of Cosmotology for the first time recently. Christina did an amazing job on my pedi! She was so sweet and caring! I enjoyed her so much and would highly recommend her if you would like your nails done. I definitely will be requesting Christina to do my nails when I return to Glitz!

We had a standing appointment for today at 1pm (made last week to extend to the end of August) but upon arrival was told no appointments for today due to free haircuts. While I admire the community service the lack of communication for a regular customer just list them 2 customers. Weve been using them for 3 years.

Went today and had a good experience. My Kiddos loved their hair cut. Very professional. Highly recommend 👌

Took my daughter yesterday for a mani/pedi...... The 2 ladies we had were awesome!!! They were attentive. They were friendly and offered great conversation!! Only downside, my daughters gel mani didnt even last a day.... We will be back.... Ill get get her a regular mani next time

I went in not knowing what to expect. But it was nice environment and the student that observed Gil cut my hair and trim my beard was eager to learn. Gil done an outstanding job!!

I went in with my mother in law last week (for the 50% discount ) the students took care of us very well and we were having a very pleasant experience till a man (not sure if he was a student or staff, as they all wear the same clothing ) continuously spoke about his time in the military and prison . As a mother of 2 who proudly serve this country it brings me much shame and makes me quite uncomfortable to hear this individual speak so negative and down on and about our armed forces yet so proudly of being incarcerated. It took so much for me to hold my tongue, I am a PROUD AMERICAN ! This really ruined my experience .

This is a good school owners, staff and students have all been great friendly and professional! I have personally gotten a facial with Norma and Ashlynn and they both did an amazing job both knowledgeable and very kind I would recommend them for facial! Maryann the owner has always gone out of her way to great me and make sure things are good something you won’t see at other schools.

I get my nails done by Emily and she gets them perfect every time. The owner is very friendly and makes sure you enjoy your service. The staff is knowledgeable and really helps the students to provide quality services.

This school is amazing! I am a student at this school, honestly to read some of these reviews it’s shocking because they have made up such lies when they bash on this school. Yes this school has cameras but never have they been used against any of us they are used to help us in case of an issue. I love this school most of the students and staff members have become like a second family to me. Sure this school has ups and downs but what place doesn’t. I am so grateful that I have the chance to attend this school and work with someone amazing people I am truly blessed! Thank you Mary Ann and Oscar for creating such a family!

To start off, I am just completely appalled. This school is run as a dictatorship by the owner and operator. I have been looking deeply into this school as I was more concerned that 1st amendment rights have been broken in the strive for profits by taking advantage of uneducated aspiring beauty school students. They have cameras throughout the business for theft, security, and watching their students every move. What Ive heard is the school actually watches these cameras to use for their own entertainment and to blackmail students and clients. I have visited this establishment under different names to keep my identity safe as they track and use clients information for reviews such as this to make it the customers fault. I am aware that they enforce policies and grading criteria that are not required by the state board and hide this from students to take advantage of them. They use everything against the students to make them work more profitable hours and routinely control students by telling them not to say anything bad about the school or they will get disciplined. Sounds a lot like a bully and if you pay attention the reply from the owner on this review will feature just their personality as they will deny, deny, deny and even attempt to bully me in this review. For one, if the cameras are for security, theft, and training, all words recorded are not to be used as evidence or blackmail. I will be contacting the authorities and I warn all who attempt to go to school here, this is a drama filled, fraudulent, controlling, and has management/ owners who bully students.

Reading reviews from bitter students is laughable considering they have a choice where to get their education. And from any scorn clients, its a SCHOOL! Either way, Im a proud Glitz graduate! As with anything, you get out what you put in. No one is there to hold your hand but they are all there to guide you. The teachers are amazing and the owners MaryAnn & Oscar treat everyone like family. Theyre respectful and do all they can to support you through your time there. I still occasionally go back to visit because I enjoyed the environment so much while being there. If youre going to go in as a client and are scared, request a senior student. I dont regret the time I spent there cause they properly prepared me for my career! This is an amazing school and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a career in beauty.

Me and my fiance came in for the first time and we were so pleased! Everybody made us feel so comfortable and welcomed! Well we found our hair and nail place!

I got my eyebrows tinted Friday (4/12/19) the girl was nice and the work was okay for being done by a student. I didnt like that not one instructor came and checked the work. So I guess they arent being supervised by instructors. While I was getting my eyebrows done I could hear the other girls cussing, very unprofessional.**EDIT***thank you for responding I wasnt aware Diana was an instructor. Yes I understand it gets crazy and appreciate Diana explaining the difference to me. I was also unaware about the way supervision works in your school so thank you for letting me know. I will be back again.

Ive been going to Glitz on and off for about four years. They have good prices and friendly technicians. I come from out of town to visit family and Glitz is the place I go for a little pampering. Honestly my only critique is that they need to work on their front desk and phone customer service. When I called to make an appointment, the individual who answered the phone did not thank me or ask me if I wanted to schedule additional appointments aside from my pedicure, manicure and brow wax. When. I arrived, the lady at the front desk was not very friendly and curtly told me I would need to wait. I was half an hour early, which I acknowledged. I did not expect to be take back right away. The young lady who did my nails was very friendly and made sure that I was happy with the job she did. She even had a instructor double check her work. The young lady who did my eye brows was also very good. When I paid, the same girl who checked me in tooky payment. She did not ask if I needed anything else or thank me for my business. When I paused, unsure if I needed to do anything, aside from sign the receipt, she curtly told me I could go. Long story short, front desk and phone manners could be improved upon. Otherwise, a good place to go if you want a nice mani-pedi for a economical price.

To the owner of glitz I was a customer of yours yesterday and I had a really bad experience I went in for highlights and I ended up getting my whole head bleached. The bleach was left on my head from whats 3 hours. I am well aware that you have cameras there so I would love for you to review the time that I was there I was there from 10:30am to 5 p.m.My name is Rachel Silva and I can email you pictures of the results I even had to go back today and I got more processes done and it just damaged my hair even more. I can send you the pictures if you just give me your email address because I wasnt getting anywhere when it came to complaining or to talk me to management about what happened. When I asked to speak to the owner they directed me to a manager who said that they were unable to give me a refund even though the student was not being supervised. Not to mention that I paid $100 to get my hair done.I ended up leaving there today with the same exact hair color I went in withafter having to put a demi on my hair because my hair was so damaged!!

Lmao, this school is a joke. Maryanne, how can I attend school if I had bronchitis which then turned into pneumonia. Would you have liked for me to have come in besides the fact that I couldn’t even get up out of bed without not being able to breath? Just shows just how much y’all care about your students health. I emailed everyday saying that I still was sick and MARIA emailed me back saying it’s okay, just feel better. So why lie to me if it really wasn’t okay? All you guys want is money money money. At least at vista they actually care about their students, which is a lot more than what I can say about your “school”

Customer service is super rude especially from one of the instructors. Very unprepared and unprofessional, I went in to get my hair and make up done for a photoshoot and although I understand the students are in training I never expected them to be this bad! It was so bad I canceled my photoshoot. Sad thing is I usually go to Olympian where in my opinion they are taught better, they at least know how to give me beach wavy curls!!!

The staff is amazingly nice and friendly. Would not recommend going for perms. The first perm I got done left my hair straighter than before. So one of the head ladies said they could redo so it would look better. As I was worried about my hair getting ruined and fried the lady advices me it would not ruin it getting a second perm. When I came back for a second perm it took almost four hours and now my hair is ruined and fried and now looks even worse than before. There is no curl or wave what so ever, it’s just over processed and fried.

I’ve read comments from clients and students. And being a student myself of this place I will have to agree with the negative feedback. When i first started last year, the problems were endless. I witness the owner get cussed out by students multiple times because of her shady ness. Nothing was done about it of course because what they screamed was facts. They steal our tips and say it’s our fault for not writing our name on the service paper, but yet they gave us service to begin with. And would NOT look back to see who the $ belonged to. The cameras are never used to help the students in times like these. But they are used to bully the students. They are always having “theft” yet with so many cameras are not able to fix the problem.??? If you read the responses from the owner, she only reply’s to good ones but had yet to address the real issues. She states she “jumped” on the cameras to review but will not do it in cases that proves her wrong. She stated that the cameras are in place so that when the students to the services they can go back and review with us. That’s a bold faced lie. If you’ve ever come in the school, the students are shown once how to do something and then thrown in there with the wolves. the instructors (because how many times have you gotten a service and a instructor been there watching, NEVER!) are nowhere in site and they do not go over the service with us later. They just ask how was it? And sign the paper and send you on the way. This place is horrible. We had first choice in where we attend but you are stuck in contract if you don’t figure out the truth before it’s too late to get out. My friend came and got lashes and they glued her eyes together! Think she’s gonna sue! She should. They bully us, steal our tips, accuse everyone of stealing, attack us using camera footage. They ease drop on conversations with cameras. They try and charge us for anything they can, extra fees, rules and not to mention they don’t even have correct licenses for their buildings. When someone starts a conversation with “ we’re not doing anything illegal” that’s the sign they usually do are and I’m this case, YES so TRUE. I can say the other statements are indeed facts, not opinions. These people have witnessed and been part of this horrible place. I’m glad some people have had “good experience” and feel like they’re part of a family, but this is the type of family you run from and wish to never even come in contact with...maryann is truly horrible, her husband is just a follower but sweet. Please please do your homework before even thinking about attending this school or even getting services here, you will regret it, I promise you. This place is a joke. Countless people go thru their course frustrated and mad because they can’t ever tell you a clear answer about your situation or will lie to you to get more $$ out of you. They’re scammers! They do not truly care about you. The good people have done is becauSe we take it upon ourselves to actually learn the material and get good at what we are trying to do, it’s up to us! They don’t deserve any credit for any good that someone else has done, because I have 3 months to go out of the longest year of my life and am still having to teach myself. I enjoy the whole experience

Seemed like very nice ladies. Good service, EXCEPT a couple weeks after my daughters pedi, keep in mind we did not take the polish off at all we just let it come off on its own, her toe nail was turning yellow, assumed it was from the yellow nail polish she picked... a few more weeks later it started turning a darker yellow/tan color... couple weeks after that she started LOSING her toe nail from the back of the nail bed. This has never happened to me in my lifetime or my daughter so I had no idea why that was happenening. Turns out its a fungus from dirty tools used on her feet! Now my daughter lost her whole toe nail because of it. I tried calling Glitz to let them know but no one ever answers the phone so I had no choice but to leave this comment.Glitz, you NEED to make sure the girls are disinfecting ALL tools! This was out first time there and now probably our last.I tried calling again after Mary Anns reply. NO ANSWER! I can not go in anytime this week due to work then daughters practice after.Even if you used clean and or NEW tools on my daughter her feet were still soaked in the sink, her nails were cut. Somehow a fungus got into her nail. I can not think of anywhere else she could have got it from.Also, there is a first time for everything. You have new students all the time, that same one hasnt been there for the lifetime of glitz. All Im saying is to please make sure this doesnt happen again.

I got my eyebrows done and the lady took off a big chunk of one of my eyebrows. She said she felt bad and she tried to fix it by applying makeup on it. This was unbelievable and i came home later and cried due to the embarrassment I now have to face!(Edit)I got mine waxed.

Horrible customer service lady’s in front are rude. The person who did my nails took 3 hours on them started at 4 didn’t get out until 7:30pm also i still had to get my pedi done and the lady that did them was amazing but nail techs need better attitudes he was pulling my hand and was already frustrated and took it out on me!! I wasn’t satisfied with my nails at all!!!! ask if they could fix them the instructor told me there’s nothing that could be done! Practically blamed me for them coming out the way they did. And still had to pay full price on them!! NEVER GOING BACK AGAIN!

Where do I start im a graduate student this people are amazing ( owners Oscar and Mary ann and her entired family) they really care about each of one of the people who come.to this school they really want the best for all of us the instructors are excellent people with amazing knowledge when in other schools they teach u the basic to pass the state board exam and if u want to learn more stuff u have to pay to get in that, this school is way beyond that each deparment has the best instructors they get training to teach more than just the required state board what ever u ask to learn they will teach u we practice every day practice makes perfect its not only theory its book and hands on which I think its amazing they prepare u to go to the real world we get business classes the owners are always around to check everything its ok we have cameras in the building because they r all about makes us feel secure its been people who took something that doesnt belong to them and the cameras help to keep the integrity of the place its awful to be in a place that u dont feel secure i was never black mail i was here a year in a half cause my time they work with u in every way to make u be successful out there i recommend 10000% this school and this people that work here they r humble and ready to get the best out of you the services are done by students and we r very on top of sanitation thats a main thing plus customer service u can get with the owners anytime they offer you support in any situation they take the time.to know u i love this people they make you part of their family you r not numbers for them my family and i are very grateful to be part of this legacy they are always thinking in how to invest to makes us have the best time in the school thinking of getting a day care for the ones who have kids and rooms for people that come from far to not have to be traveling back and forward we had many students that come from deming alamogordo silver city etc they r always thinking in our safety its like we r all their children so please come to get services here cause u will help all the students to perfectionate their skills come.to study here cause this will be your second home they offer financial aid and many more ways to help u succed when i start i got together with mary ann and she was so nice and at that time they still were not approved for financial aid and i received a scholarship that let me enrolled to the school now im a license cosmetologist thanks to the support of Mrs. Glitz and Mr. Glitz thank u so much

School is amazing teaches you so much more then any of the other cosmetology school in Las Cruces staff and instructors are friendly and caring prices are amazing for students to learn all around amazing school and one of my best choice I made!
