I would love to help this school become respected and loved. But they would have to agree to my recommendations and follow them in writing as part of a contract. No way I would submit to a terribly managed school. Masks should be voluntary. Extorting is illegal. Extortion is like blackmail. Do something bad or harmful to self or others in exchange for a reward.

I cannot give zero stars. I called this place to verify whether or not the school offered mask breaks to the winners of the shoe/sock drive and the lady that answered the phone said thats something that were not answering on, thank you and hung up the phone on me. Obviously the mask requirements of this indoctrinational facility never was about keeping people safe, if they reward their students with unrestricted oxygen! I would never allow my children to go to this disgusting excuse for an educational facilities. Its a front.

Was at a tennis semi-final tennis tournament and experienced the most rude and inappropriate parents. Such as cheering unforced errors. I am guessing they don’t know much about tennis. This is high school tennis and should be fun for these kids. I feel sad for this school if this is what their sportsmanship is like across the board. Or perhaps, again, they are ignorant about good sportsmanship rules. Lots of room for improvement.

This is an excellent school. No bullying. Very academic. I cant say enough about how this school helped my son. When he was having trouble with algebra. They have excellent teachers and programs where students can get extra help after school to improve their grades. The students are very good, well behaved young people. This is the way ALL schools should be. No bs. No bullying and have measures in place that knock that in the bud right off. Students look out for each other. Nothing like what goes on in public schools.

I am new to Lakeland, FL and I applied for the 2021-2022 enrollment back in December. I called the school today to find out some information about when the email comes out to let us know when they get sent out. The office was short, rude and bothered. They made me feel like I wasnt important enough to have 2 minutes of their time. At first, I thought is was one office but I called both campuses and it was the same experience. I would just ask for them to be professional and consider first time callers.

Rewarding donations with long or longer than normal mask breaks should be illegal. Would never even consider sending my kids here!

We were there for a High School volleyball match. Seems like a nice campus and people were pleasant. Gym is small and parking is a bit of a problem.

So are the masks about health or not? Remove them!

Most amazing school ever

I am a Graduate from this school and i have got to say that this is just a good school like any other school that has existed. It is not necessary to be rich to be in this school, it is the fact that the teachers there are trying help you get to success.

This school is absolutely amazing! They care for the students and their grades. This school is an A+ school and has been for many years.

Good school when it comes to traditional but not virtual.

The teachers are okay, but the administration doesn’t care. The students would be happier if this school actually listened to their students. If I’ve learned one thing here: follow instructions and keep to yourself if you don’t want to get in trouble. Students who voice their opinion are usually called up to the office. Fix your administration.

Mckeel academy of technology is using the parkland shooting to only further their public image. How you may ask? By first threatening students with disciplinary action if they are to participate in the National School Walkout, but when seeing the opportunity of media coverage the school takes the opportunity to stage a fake fire drill and then pretending to be one of the schools who were planning to participate in the National School Walkout. This school forced students on all sides of the political spectrum to protest for gun control and when there was no media coverage they couldn’t of cared less about the meaning of the protests and the walkout. This school only cares about its ability to be in the news not the movements behind why.

Ok, ignore the positive commentary about this school. They don’t ‘push us to be the best’ they push us to our limit. I cannot even tell you the last time i had a decent sleep. The staff is rude, the teachers are hardly any help and the few teachers who actually try are under paid and many have been dismissed from the school for not punishing us enough for belts/uniform/classroom behavior enough. Last year a kid threatened to shoot up a school field trip and that child is still at mckeel. They covered up threats made against the school, they used a tragedy for their own personal gain. They locked several bathrooms so we now have to walk out of our way to use the restrooms so they can monitor our traffic. The clinic is disgusting, the bathrooms and hallways surrounding them smell like urine, bathroom doors don’t lock properly, the ceiling tiles are stained with rat feces and they crawl all over that place. The cafeteria is also disgusting. I don’t even trust the packaged foods, which are limited choices. We are not being trained for the real world, we are being forced to breathe in possibly toxic fumes from other people’s bodies, being oppressed by an admin that abuses its power. The whole school is just badly run. I’ve been to public school, several different ones and I’ve never had a complaint about them. This place is insane. No exaggeration. Do NOT send your kids here.

The best part of McKeel is leaving it. I am going to miss my favorite teachers and friends, but definitely will not miss the strict rules and stern admin.

Great school. Its very strict but that helps to structure students for the future. Definitely recommend it.

I went to the McKeel schools for 6 years, going from South McKeel to McKeel Academy and I hated it. The school put so much weight on how the students performed that they neglected the students themselves. I understand that they are a relatively fine school but the last 5 of my 6 years were in an unsafe condition regarding a student. Not once did McKeel do anything other than move MY classes. The academics were good, rigorous that was, in theory, great for me but the teachers and admin were not passionate about their job and that in turn made my 6 years miserable along with many other students. They are not progressive or respectful, neither the staff or the students. The school was not well run or efficient in any way. I would not recommend this school to anyone.

Dont send your kids here, all of the kids that go here are spoiled and think theyre better than everyone, and the new grading policy is so stupid, this school puts enough stress on me and anyone that would go here.

Very good school

Mckeel is a top school in Florida, based on objective testing. Ignore many of these reviews, the are written by people who thinks schools should cater to them. Life is tough and Mckeel pushes students so they are prepared for college and thus the real world. I feel sad for those who think Mckeel is tough on them, because the modern world is way harder and more competitive than ever.

McKeel Academy did a very wrong thing today. They acted like we were having a fire drill and used it to make it look like we were participating in the walk out. But the day before threatened us with a detention “at minimum”. They tried to cover it up saying it was a coincidence but we might be student but we are not dumb.

I went to this school for middle school and I regret it. The school was very strict and didnt accept people for who they are. The school is full of rich people who are better known as goodie two shoes. I highly recommend that you drive across the street and enroll your child into Kathleen Senior High School where they will be accepted. This school is full of hate and negativity.

I found that this school has teachers that intimdate students and make student feel like they arent intelligent enough to be at Mckneel. But God Words says what so ever seed you sow in someone else life you will reap it. Rather its a good seed or a bad seed. JESUS IS LORD!
