Tersaks has become a new home for me, where I can stretch myself to personal limits in a productive and safe environment. My experience is consistently incredible! My self confidence, control, and overall attitude has improved since I started...I wish I would have joined a long time ago! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! The Academy is TOP NOTCH! I cant get enough :)

Great environment and instructors! My son has opened up a lot and made friends since hes been here. They have large classes but give attention to every kid. Would highly recommend for everyone!

My youngest has enjoyed every class! My oldest has been participating in the ladies series. She recently participated in the Teen Police Academy and had confidence taking charge in a drill, approaching the boys for their names, etc. I asked her what made her feel so confident (as this is 180° from her normal shyness) and she said going to the ladies classes. She is now asking to get enrolled after her sport season.

Great family atmosphere. Great focus and discipline lessons for kids. They know each kid and learn the best way to teach each kid.

My 5 year old loves going to class. My wife and I enjoy watching him succeed and build confidence in real time.

A lovely, honest, patient, family-run gem!I have been to at least a dozen karate academies before finding our home with Tersaks. Its tucked way back off San Jose, and they dont do too much marketing, but dont let that fool you! This place is BOOMING with activity, while at the same time, maintaining that welcoming, accepting, family friendly atmosphere.Its little pricey (okay, its ALOT pricey) but so far it does seem worth it to me. My twins are at the age where they want to do different things, and my son begged to be a ninja. I went to many local places, and pretty much all of them werent equipped, or didnt want to, deal with my son. My baby is a handful, to say the least, and I put him in karate for the discipline and to try to improve his behaviors.I think when youre the mama of a special needs kiddo (at least I know for me) I have my guard up right away, and Im just waiting for the comments or the eye rolls. You will not get that here!! Somehow these little karate angels have the patience, understanding, and will to teach my son, and Ive seen an all around improvement in behavior!I loved that I was greeted by the son, given a tour, and then met with Mrs. Tersak before making the decision to sign up. I also met (I hope Im using correct terminology) Master Tersak, and he greeted me with a welcome to the family which was just adorable. Mrs. T was so real and so honest, I was comfortable instantly (and I could actually breathe, something that my son doesnt afford me often LOL). I mustve asked 10000x if she really thought they could handle my little dude, and she assured me that they could, they were very familiar with his diagnosis, and they took little man on!Christian means and groans when I make him do anything thats not electronics-related, but he gets SUPER excited for karate! This is INCREDIBLE to see. Im on the mat alot w him, but I appreciate that were allowed to get in there and correct/redirect. Such an improvement in him already!Worth every penny so far!

Ive been a student for the last 15 years and have worked here for the last 6 years. If youre looking to gain confidence, discipline, determination, and self defense all while having fun this is the place for you. It is family owned and operated and has a very loving environment. My family has been involved with the school since I started back in 2005 and have loved every moment of it. Youll receive quality martial arts instruction and meet lifelong friends. I highly recommend joining!

TFMAA is one of the best things to happen to my family. Our son, who has some special needs, started in the school when he was in kindergarten and has progressed all the way to earning his black belt. The instructors understand him and push him in all the right ways. I joined 2 years ago, largely to help my son finish his black belt, but I love taking the adult classes and the community of adults in the school. I am completely committed to earning my own black belt. I cannot overstate how great this school is.

TFMAA is a great place to learn. In addition to martial arts, they do a great job of teaching healthy habits and building strong moral character. My son has been enrolled for a little over a year and I signed up recently as well.

This Karate school is amazing. I have been here almost 7 years and it rocks. Everything about it just amazing. When you walk into the door you will be always be greeted and ask how your day was. In class you are in an environment that will teach you the fundamentals of martial arts and also the fundamentals of the 9 Black Belt principals. All in all this is an amazing school and would highly recommend if you want to get into martial arts.

We enrolled our kids here and quickly realized it’s not just an extracurricular activity, this is an investment in our children’s future. They’re learning so much that helps shape them into confident, respectful, disciplined, focused, honest, strong, happy, and responsible leaders! They’re truly there to help each student and their family.

I have been at this school for a very long time and have loved my time there. I have learned invaluable skills from them throughout my time with them.

My daughter just started late last year, but shes already benefited so much from the karate classes. Master Tersak and Master Nicholas are such fantastic instructors, along with Mrs. Angelina, Missy Miles, and Ms. Gracie! They are all so good with the kids. Every session keeps the kids very engaged and theyre always having so much fun while learning a ton. All instructors provide great motivation, I cannot begin to express how glad I am I enrolled my daughter in this program. I am even seeing positive results in her school work performance. Please dont hesitate to join or to enroll your loved ones.

My children grew up with Paks with Master Johnson. My granddaughters are now learning with the Masters Tersak and Miles and an incredible staff of wonderful instructors - both master belts and senior black belts. My youngest granddaughter has benefited so much from the discipline that she is learning. She is much better able to focus in school and her behavior at home has improved. Each morning the first question out of the girls mouths is, Is it karate today? We are so proud of our future black belts! This program and its staff are, without exception, the best.

When I moved to Jacksonville three years ago, I researched many martial arts schools in the metro area. Hands down, TFMAA is the best in the city in my humble opinion. Perhaps one of the best in the country. In my almost three years of studying at TFMAA, I have improved in physical fitness, self-defense, confidence, and martial arts. I find the balance of respecting tradition with the blending of the practical and needs of society today appealing. Tang Soo Do is the base, but also covered is boxing, Ju Jitsu, practical self-defense, and openness to other styles when warranted. As a student, I love that I am getting well-rounded training in traditional martial arts, with boxing and hand techniques, and ground work. Equally as important, if not more so, I am impressed with the holistic development for young people. The administrative team and instructors at TFMAA excel in fostering respect, confidence, hard work, and encouraging students and young people to be at their absolute best in all endeavors. Said tasks are accomplished through various leadership programs, volunteer work within the Academy and the larger community, and by forming partnerships with parents and schools. The same attributes are also adapted for adults. The Academy also has classes for women and women’s self-defense, works with people who are elderly and have physical limitations, makes the needed adjustments for adults, instructs students with learning differences like ADHD, Autism, and has partnerships with social service organizations and schools. TFMAA truly embraces servant leadership at its core. My intention was not to live in Jacksonville long-term. Yet, I am so entrenched with my TMFAA family and believe wholeheartedly in the vision and work being done at the Academy, that I continue to reside in Jacksonville. Check out TFMAA…you will not be disappointed!

Love it! Master Bill is patient and has helped my son come a long way. With ASD it is hard for my son to understand most directions but Master Bill works very hard and it has paid off. The facility is wonderful, Mr.Bill and his daughters are amazing. Great area next to Nocatee across from Nease High school.
