The choice to become part of Assumption Catholic School community was an easy one for our family. We wanted a school community and foundation that provided strong academic environment, exciting faith education, and a community that supported and encouraged service to others. Assumption Catholic School exceeded our needs and we have enjoyed growing with our children through the community, constantly meeting new families and teachers. Our family couldn’t be happier, first choosing the Assumption Early Childhood Learning Center, and now Assumption Catholic School. We feel the education & environment is vital to our children’s’ growth and we are proud to be a part of the Assumption community.

There are so many amazing things to say about our wonderful school. Assumption Catholic School has provided a loving and comfortable environment for our daughter to learn and develop. The curriculum encourages independent as well as team learning experiences, allowing the children to develop skills in these areas that are critical in further education. Our daughter has been successful because of the foundation built through education at Assumption. Beyond the core education, their experience is the environment where this is achieved. Classes are small and the education is personal. The teachers know their students and can tailor their efforts to individual student needs. Assumption provides a high quality, faith-based education in a family-type environment. We feel confident that this will prepare our children for their future education, growth, and development. We could not be happier with our decision in selecting Assumption Catholic School.

I think choosing the right school is one of the most important decisions we as parents have to make. This is the building you are leaving your kids in for most of the day. These are the people who are going to teach, help to nurture, and let’s be honest we all hope and dream they become part of our village as they are such a big part of your children’s life. In 3 years, some of our little community has turned into family. Teachers and faculty have really helped, nurtured, and been there for our boys. It’s a constant saying at our house “we would have never received this kind of care at another school.” My sister had already made up her mind her kids would go to a different school she had attended growing up, but when you see the love from our school as an outsider it really is hard to resist. My niece will be attending next year to add more fun and love to our little school community. I honestly think choosing Assumption was one of the best decisions we have made as a family. I hope the school knows how much we love them and how we feel so lucky to get to experience the amazing environment I know they work very hard to cultivate each and every year. #ACSstrong

We love Assumption Early Childhood Learning Center! Our child has learned so much from the infant room and beyond. The teachers and staff have a heart for children and it is evident in our childs cognitive development. Thank you Assumption ECLC staff and teachers for all you do!

As a family, we chose Assumption for their ECLC program. We had toured other schools, but never felt the immediate warmth and welcome as we did when we walked through the gates. Spending two years at the ECLC we became more involved and soon realized that we wanted to fully envelop ourselves into the parish and join fully by converting to the Catholic faith. Taking turns, myself (Adair) completed the RCIA program at Assumption and was welcomed into the faith in July and Nick is now going through the process as well. We fell in love with Assumption. The fellowship that we feel, even through Covid, is unmatched. We know that not only do the teachers and faculty look out for our kids and love watching them grow, but we share that same feeling with the fellow parents. We watch our kids play, encourage each other, are shoulders to lean and cry on in the parking lot, without judgement or expectation. It is like we have always been a part of the Parish, even though it has only been three years.

As a student here for eleven years I found the everything very organized and well done. The discipline system needs work, like during lunch if there is no place to sit you should not get a notice(Referal) for pulling a chair. I would’ve enjoyed a middle school football team, I mean we are the only diocese that doesn’t have this program, but I could understand why it wasn’t considered. When I was in elementary school I definitely felt like being a staff kid had tons of advantages, but later on that was changed and I moved on and didn’t care. I would say the middle school religion teacher is OUTSTANDING! She’s legit like a second mother. Hiring her was the best thing assumptions done. All of the teachers are very great they help you in any given situation, and make middle school life easier. Reason why I give it a 4 star is because Of the disciplinary system, and some of things I got in trouble for. Like laughing with a class, that was stupid, yes I understand that most of the rules are meant to protect us, but too much especially for middle school does not prepare you for the attitudes and trenches of High School. I miss middle school so much. High school is fun, but the memories I made at assumption where priceless, and hilarious.

Academically, this school is excellent. It 100% prepared me for high school and beyond. The science and academic after school programs are awesome. (Just as an FYI before I get into the critique, I graduated a couple years back, so the school environment may no longer be the same as it once was.) Despite their strength in academic classes, in terms of Religious teachings, this school is extremely toxic. Staff and religious figures constantly question whether or not you are “Catholic enough” to receive specific sacraments, especially with Confirmation. This sometimes happens even if you have gone through the previous sacraments, typically due to the fact that you aren’t donating enough money to the church to be considered “Catholic”. (Which is pretty shady if you ask me, since a religious practice shouldn’t be defined by a paycheck!) I’ve known several people that have had the same issue too.Besides this, it’s also easy to feel like you’re being publicly ostracized if you don’t hold the same practices as the Church or follow under their cult-ish cliques + social standards. Asking questions and having contradicting beliefs is considered a sin. Not only that, but they typically use tactics such as “us vs. society” fear mongering in order to isolate individuals from people outside of the church (which ends up leading to a pretty cult like community). It makes you feel like you aren’t an individual anymore, but instead the “perfect Christian” (AKA, white, straight, southern, conservative, submissive to those in a position of power, etc.).Honestly, the best way to solve this is simple. Establish a respectful community where politics, ethnicity, and personal religious practices don’t effect how you are treated by others. Just because it’s a catholic school doesn’t mean that non-catholic students don’t deserve respect from authority figures. Despite the issues with religious staffing, I didn’t have that many issues with the student body other than the typical superficiality that you often see in every middle school. I’ve made some awesome friends at that place, so it’s a shame to see how poor the religious community is there. This school is what made me lose my faith tbh. I really hope that it can be fixed, so that other people don’t lose their belief system like I did. The academic teachers there are awesome and have inspired a lifelong drive to learn, so it’s definitely a shame.

Absolutely unacceptable. As a student who came here for two years and left, I have to say this school was full of self indulging students, ignorant teachers, and kids being left out. I have never seen a school who couldnt care less about their religion and only care about Bestity. They learn nothing, they are always violent with each other, and when things get out of hand, a teacher wont do anything to stop it. Maybe its just my experience but what I tell you is simple. Be careful of what your child might face here because one day, they might end up like me.
