We love soles

We had a terrible experience with the recital. I signed up my 6 year-old daughter for ballet and her class’s recital performance (that she had been practicing all season) was not until 10:05pm the night of the recital. That is nearly 2 hours after her bed time!! All of the family there to see her (including her younger brother who was extremely exhausted by that point) was really too tired to enjoy it. I think it is just cruel to make 6-year olds wait until 10pm to perform.

The following is an email sent to the owner of Soles and her response.Hi Anna,Since I didnt hear back from you yesterday, I assume there is not much more to discuss. Please refund our January payment and the $85 costume fee and we will sever our contract for the rest of the year.Theres a few things you should know:On our initial phone call, Brie was unable to answer any questions or provide any useful information. I was displeased with the time it took to respond, the lack of information and was in the middle of transferring planes on a business trip. I admit I became frustrated, however when I expressed my frustration, she yelled at me and hung up on me. This is why I called my husband to deal with it (which was our original request via phone message, but yet she called me instead).My husband called the police for his own support, not ON anyone. He wanted someone there to identify that he was not angry or aggressive. When Brie locked herself in the office, my husband spoke to a very nice ADULT person and had a positive and helpful conversation with her. This indicates that my husband was not out of control, and speaks to Bries ability to handle displeased customers. Indeed, the whole thing speaks to Bries lack of customer service skills. I work in a customer service-heavy industry; I would fire her for her tone, hanging up on a customer, and her inability to deal with an issue professionally and maturely. It took the second, grown-up person, to demonstrate these very important skills. My staff know that they will not like everyone they serve, but they must serve them professionally and politely regardless; indeed they are frequently yelled at, sworn at, and hung up upon, but they still have to do their job.Finally, we are YOUR CUSTOMERS (or were), and to ask a customer not to escort their 7-year old into and out of the building is highly improper. Bries final treatment of my husband last night, and the fact that she could not move forward and treat all customers politely speaks, again, to her worthlessness as the face of your business. Consider this: would any of this be an issue if a WOMAN acted the same way or did exactly what my husband did? I am certain a woman would not have been banned from the building or treated as my husband was during and after. We live in a time where women expect equal treatment and strive to assert themselves, however in this case, my husband has been profiled and discriminated against because of HIS gender. We, as women, cannot have it both ways-- we cannot seek to assert ourselves, but decide when we dont like the way someone is talking to us, we LOCK OURSELVES IN A ROOM citing fear.Unfortunately, while there are perceived victims on both sides, the biggest victim is my child who truly enjoys dancing. I now understand why other parents I know have pulled out of Soles and why you were not highly recommended.
