Whenever we come to Honolulu we are sure to book a massage with Jon Bass at elite massage academy. My wife and I have had countless massages here and all have been great. Prices are incredibly reasonable less than $1/min. I always go to Jon Bass. He’s very professional and is a physical trainer too, so he knows the body. He incorporates stretching along with massage and we always walk away feeling like a million bucks. We usually get a 90 minute deep tissue sports massage but he does other techniques. When we first found this place we were hesitant as we thought how good could a student be? The answer, really good, better than some professionals we’ve been to. By far Jon is the best massage therapist we’ve ever had and we’ve had hundreds of massages around the world. We’ve been getting massages from Jon for the last couple of years and will continue to do so. Enjoy the experience.

About the location: Yes, they left Ward Warehouse. Theyre now at their new location, 1130 N Nimitz Hwy, Honolulu, HI 96817, Nimitz Center. Its on the second floor of the complex, right above AAA office. You can either find parking on the first level (under the building or outside) and walk up the staircase by AAA, theyll be on your right. Or, if you park on the second level, just go all the way to the end where you see Susan Page Modeling. Go to that entrance and youll see the sign for Elite Massage Academy. Turn right, go all the way to the end of the hallway and theyll be on your left. When you go inside the door, the clinic is on your left, school on your right. Why am I taking time to write this review? Because, after my great massage yesterday from Wendell, I hope they succeed! I was a massage therapist for 18 years, so I know a good massage when I get one, and he has a true gift. He can tell the kind of pressure you need, can feel whats going on in your body and coaxes it to let go. You can feel in his hands that he genuinely respects and cares about his clients and loves the work, which is hard to find. Im also a Reiki Master, and asked if hes been trained in energy work, was surprised when he said no. Hes a natural, strong, peaceful energy.I made two more appointments with him and look forward to also trying the other therapists. Only $90 for a 90-minute massage ($55 for a student therapist) that was so much better than the expensive ones Ive tried at other spas. But, missing a star because if aesthetics are important to you, the space is challenging...not gonna lie. The entrance isnt very inviting, I was a little worried to walk in, but once youre in, theyre very welcoming, and theres a colorful mural by Emeralds Art Designs. That was a good call to put that there, since it adds some life to the space. There are only curtains between tables, so you can hear everything, although thats fairly typical for massage school clinics. The music was the free streaming that interrupts peaceful spa sounds with jarring advertisements. Maybe invest in an iPod. But I can tell theyre doing their best. And the more customers who find them, the more theyll be able to do.Best of luck Elite Massage Academy!

From a students point of view, this Academy is definitely not professional. I have called multiple times for the past 9 months to set up an appointment to register as a student, and no call back. I have only gotten recorded messages or the front desk stating that no one is here to help, ill have someone call you back. Its very frustrating when I put my life on hold to find a better career path, and yet this place isnt even the least bit interested in helping someone try to become a student. Needless to say, I have taken my time and money elsewhere for better education. I do NOT recommend trying this place out if youre looking to have massage therapy training.

Easy to get an appointment. Accommodating last minute appointment. The students are capable of providing experience level massage. Entrance is hidden and requires instructions to finding this place. Students are polite and friendly. Wendell a student(certified) was my masseuse and did a great job. I was subjected to the student rate of $35/hr. Instead of the $60/hr. Great first experience. Been here 3 times in 2 months. Other two different students had good skills and pressure. Massage alcove are separated by curtain and very small. You can hear everyone in the room.
