Thank you Avant Garde Academy! Especially, to my daughter’s kindergarten teacher Ms.Zaligan! Teacher who could encourage and motivate 6yo kids is priceless. Also, I’m very happy how all processes well organized. Of course, we had some problems with kids dismissal and arrival for first couple days, but all issues are solved and now it doesn’t take too much time.

My daughter has been a student at Avant Garde since kindergarten, now she just started 6th grade. We have been happy with all the teachers so far at the school. We have done well in all the classes and it has been very easy to communicate with all the teachers in the elementary school. However, I took one star away due to very short time for lunch and overcrowded cafeteria especially now that we are faced with Covid-19 pandemic. Upper school Students do not have enough tables to sit at without crowding each other and the elective classes have too many students in them. For instance the art class has well over 30 students in a small classroom. Otherwise so far in upper school no complaints.

As happy as we were to start Kindergarten here our enthusiasm meltdown within 2 days. We did register through the school sent email for free transportation. Apparently there are problems between transportation company Maranatha and the school and its parents problem now to be solved, neither one of this entities accept responsibility. Dropping on and off is a Nightmare with times more than one hour. School promised us that on August 5th, 2021 we will receive an email with our teacher name. No teacher name provided as promised and moved to August 13 to know your teacher when we will bring the school supplies. At the meeting with the Principals they told us 18 kindergarten children per teacher and classroom. Another not kept promised attendance, there are 20 children in our mini classroom. Classrooms are very small, I would say properly for 10 children at the most.

As a Student here since its inception, i can say that there are problems with the cramped hallways and lunch times but overall its still a good school with great teachers. i miss Dr blender and bacon!

I think that yes, some of the teachers are rude and yell at students that sometimes don’t understand what’s going on. But again. There are very nice teachers and one of them is Ms. Ibarra. She is a wonderful leader that you can talk to when you need help with anything. She listens to you and understands what’s going on. She talks problems out and explains something to you when you don’t get it. I appreciate that you add those types of teachers to your team.

Our children have been at AGA since its inception and we could not be happier. They have great friends and the school provides a solid and challenging educational program even throughout the pandemic. The robotics and choir programs are the best in the county. We have seen the school grow and services improve and look forward to our children eventually graduating from AGA.

This is a terrible school. Most of the teachers are rude, childish, and immature. They are not willing to help you whatsoever. They also overload students with work which is not good for their mental health especially due to the fact that we’re already doing online school which is already new and very stressful for children. There was thanksgiving break recently and five projects were assigned. It took five hours to do one of them. No other schools in the county assigned that much work over break. Overall, very bad school. Do not recommend.

This school started out good but as soon as I saw the food it was horrible. Most of the teachers were teaching pretty well but some were just messy while teaching. They couldnt handle the class, and just let the kids do whatever they want. And also the car line and bus line were poorly worked out. After all it wasnt that bad.

My son is in Kindergarten and so far so great! His teacher Mrs. Chong is wonderful. She communicates with the parents and is very nice with the kids. The entire staff is wonderful. Everyone is friendly and extremely helpful. My son is learning and says he had a fun day when I pick him up. I also like that they have middle and high school at this school. I have been in this school many times over the ñast few years and i am always impressed with the beautiful facilities the great teachers and fantastic management team Compared to all of the schools around it there is no comparison this is the best school and has the best equipment, technology, facilities and gymnasium. .

I used to be in this school a year ago, I wish I could only put a half star just because of some normal teachers and my friends. In this school teachers have no experience and all they do is just yell at innocent students for doing something wrong, for example Ms Supraski only gave good grades to her favorite students, and Ms Tate was a screaming machine. This school is horrible in terms of education and system, I saw students get yelled at for no reason and the substitute teachers are just plain colony managers. Some of the staff was normal but most were just from the street.Also I would like to add that teachers like ms blaire who have mental problems are permitted here. She litteraly has mickey mouse in here class everywhere to the point its sickening.

Schools reopened and there is black mold in the vents. Staff are told not to notify parents about the mold problem but kids are vomiting and getting stomach aches!! Not acceptable and not safe at all!

Students aren’t allowed to wear their own jackets or sweaters only those of the schools. It is cold inside the school as most schools are. The school sweaters aren’t good enough material to keep warm.

Excellent school, I am 100% satisfied with the education, staff, and activities that they offer. I fully recommend this school.

Good school despite what former students say. Teachers are professional and nice although there are sometimes teachers who are not that good. All of my teachers are good and help me get though the year. However school lunch is usually not so good so packed lunch may be better if you are picky about food. The school is improving though so thing like fights and drugs dont happen anymore. Most kids that come are nice and dont bully others as well.

I personally feel bad I sent my son and daughter to this school, they would come home complaining about how the teachers are and the school system in general . I thought Hey kids are going complain about school thats just how they are . NO....I was totally wrong ! I found out about how my kids teachers were treating the students and OH MY ! was I shocked . The teachers are not caring, not a fit to be a a teacher, bashes kids, mistreats the students, and does NOT teach . Another thing the administrative staff are not caring and are selfish .

As a parent I’m very concerned about the whole staff at Avant being okay with the students not being able to wear the correct layer jacket. It’s disturbing to find out the teachers and principal are telling the students that they have to wear the Avant logo which is a very thin layer of material and the kids are still cold. And if they wear anything else other then the school logo they are told to stand outside and not come into the building or jackets are being taken and put in a large trash bag. So in 60 degree weather because it does get cold in Florida, my child isn’t allowed to wear the proper jacket to prevent being cold or getting one. I’m confused about the rules. They seem a bit much.

I have two kids in the elementary school and weve had extremely positive experiences at AGA. My kids learned so much this year and I have been pleased with the teachers and the administrators. Every morning when I drop them off, they are excited to go to school and run into the classroom. The school itself has impressive facilities.

Im writing as a concerned parent, There is a woman employed in your establishment as a sixth grade intensive math teacher named MS. MARIE GINA JEAN LOUIS, I have a child in her class and from what my child has told me, Ms. Jean Louis has been physically abusive towards my child and other students in her classroom on multiple occasions. She has forcefully shoved and grabbed students including my child. My child has not wanted to report these incidents yet as they feared they would not be believed and I also wanted to avoid confronting her directly. It isnt just my child, other students have endured this unethical conduct from her and I am confident that they can attest to their negative experiences with her. It takes one person to speak out. The school really needs to look into her behavior, she has no right to put her hands on my child or any other child. Unacceptable. If she continues, I will report this directly to the school board

We had high hopes for this school. Now we see it is not the case. How can a math teacher say in the parents conference that she does not believe in home work. Math and no home work, how else can a kid learn a math. In my opinion, it must be done via practice. School in general does not give home work in 7th grade.

MY DAUGHTERS SECOND YEAR AT AVANT GARDE ELEMENTARY AND I HAVE TO SAY I HAVE BEEN VERY PLEASED WITH HOW CLOSELY THE STAFF HAS BEEN WORKING WITH ME IN KEEPING ME INFORMED OF MY DAUGHTERS ACCOMMODATIONS AND PROGRESS, AND HOW MUCH HER TEACHERS CARE. AS A PARENT ITS OUR OBLIGATION AS WELL TO KEEP TRACK OF OUR KIDS EDUCATION AND GETTING TO KNOW THE TEACHERS AND STAFF MAKES EVERYTHING MUCH EASIER.

So many things wrong I cannot begin to describe in a short review.If I would have known at the beginning of the year what I know now, I would have never gotten my kid in this school.All my friends who have kids in this school also agree.Cant get my kid out of this school fast enough.

We had an amazing year at Avant Garde Academy! My little one has learned so much through the year and so did we as parents. We all embraced Leader in Me concept at home and I feel I grew as a person myself, not only my child.The staff is amazing, very friendly and helpful. We will miss you guys over the summer. I am currently in this school, and I agree, only a small amount of teachers and staff are kind to the students here. Other than that, everything in AGA is neutral. I would say itd be best if it were improved.

I am the elementary technology teacher at Avant Garde Academy and I love teaching here. I think that the population of students that go to our school are intelligent, creative, and respectful children who make teaching a joy.Students are not allowed to use their cell phones in school. They are not allowed to have them on during school hours. If a teacher sees a student using their phone while school is in session we will take the phone and leave it in the office for the stuents parents to pick up. Saying that our students are constantly on their phones is very far from what is actually happening here at AGA.

I went to this school for 2 years, and I had the worst experience ever. Lets start out by saying 95% of the teachers suck and do not know how to deal with kids. I recently left this school and went to an actual good school. The head principal is very nice but he left a year ago and never came back to this day. When I was in 4th grade, my phone was confiscated twice. My fifth grade teacher called my friend Hitler and gave me two behavior reports for talking and disruption. I also got two detentions for the same reason. Horrible things happen here as well. Last year, three girls in middle school were caught smoking weed in the bathroom. Lots of suspensions. worst school ever. If I could, this school would have 1 stars in reviews. I hate this school.

This school is not what I thought it would be. Half of the questions you ask office staff they never know the answets and dont even try to .Another thing report cards are never sent on time always something oh district didnt print them they forget 6th grade That seems imposible to me. Another thing some of the taechers are great others Like Ms.Jean Louis horrible dont know how to speak to the children an example if a child gets a not passing grade on a class work / home work or exam there is no reason for her to let the whole class know some children get embarsed by that .This should be discused at the childs desk between the teacher and student not the entire class room .Hopefully tbis changes being that some kids are more sensitive then otbers..

Honestly, Ive never liked Avant Garde to begin with. I always thought, and I still think this, that middle school kids should not get mixed up with the high schoolers. Im going to 10th grade, so all my fellow classmates obviously need to set an example, but how would we do that if the middle school kids think that they can stir up drama, act tough, and do whatever they please. I know I wasnt no angel during 2016-2017 school year, but Im trying to change myself and behave and do good in this school. I honestly cant do that if no one will handle these kids. I hope 2017-2018 school turns out good, and the teachers are laid back but strict, I dont want everything to be the same.Im back and its 2018, the middle of the school year.. I gotta say I like the new principal but the things he has strict for the students are a little too much!! They basically are treating us like we are prisoners. Im talking about making us stand facing the wall for about 3 lunches. Making us clean the cafeteria. I havent done none of these. But to be honest its embarrassing. Then one time my boyfriend kissed me on the cheek and they called our parents and said the next time this happens we would have IS for 3 days.. What kind of BS is this? This school worries about what students are doing but what about the teachers? Are they actually teaching? Or what about making the school safer than what it is? We dont have security. We dont have a deputy.. Like everything that has happened in the real society is not helping our school become better. 2017-2018 worse than last year..

Where do I begin?1.) The teachers do not care about teaching their students, they just need to get their paycheck, and only FSA scores. Towards the first month of the school year I had asked a question, and the teacher completely disregarded me. When I asked why I was being ignored, the teacher said, You dont get to ask questions during the FSA.2.) A student tried to beat me up in a school restroom, when I told the administration, they did nothing. The girl wasnt even written up. My parents had continuously messaged the school about it and never got a response.3.) Students have had intimate relations in the hallways and in restrooms/teachers restrooms.When the teachers did try and teach, it was way below our grade level.4.) There were no textbooks.5.) Students were yelled at if they asked to use the restroom at lunch.6.)Teachers were rude and tried to roast kids. Eventually those roasts became racist insults.7.) I watched a teacher drag a student by his backpack to a classroom.8.)Students had possession of drugs and weapons.There are some great teachers and classes, dont get me wrong, but all of the things listed above overpower them.

I went to the middle school for 1 year then I left with friends to go to a different school. During the year that I attended this school some teachers taught very well (Example: Band/ Choir, History, and Science) while some taught poorly and only taught for a pay check. During my time there some negative experiences happened such as the math teacher stood up and yelled ”Fuc* you mr.Tunis”, kids did drugs in the bathroom (the school DID take care of that), and a friend of mine took the math fsa but the school handed out the 8th grade one instead of the 6th grade one (the school was contacted but nothing happened)! Over all AGA still brings many educational opportunities. (I recommend taking taking honors and Cambridge classes to receive a good education)

I went to aga for the 2016-2017 school year in middle school. This school is okay the old principal didnt know what he was doing and the assistant principal basically told the principal what to do. If your not in honor classes then most of the kids are terrible but not all. In the halls its crazy upstairs when the bell rings good luck! people are pushing you around getting to the next class. Some kid actually fell down in the hall and people were walking over him like a piece of gum stuck on the floor. The teachers are great although expect Ms. Gonzalez she is the worst teacher ever. She yells at kids for no reason and has no heart at all. The art teacher is amazing I learned so much from her. Also they have this tradition to stand up and clap at the lunch room when someone gets in a fight & gets in trouble. In all aga isnt the worst school ever but it has problems with drugs and fights every other day.
