Weve been having our kids go to swim class at Goldfish for 6 years, and its been great. The teachers are so nice and really make the kids feel at ease as they learn. The patrolling workers will even sit by a kid having a rough day and talk with them to get them more comfortable. They teach a wonderful life skill and the kids have fun doing it.

Pros : Friendly staff, good instructors and kids have fun while learning.Cons : Where do I start... First about 2 weeks ago we were told that the price is going up approximately 20% due to low staff (ok...). Last week, without any advance notice we are told they are no longer offering the class next month and that she can be put on waiting list or take time off as only two options. Lastly one of the reasons we had chosen Goldfish over other places is they used to offer Friday night family swim time which during Covid changed to Wednesdays at noon (kids are in school?!?!)Overall, I had hoped things would get better or at least stay where it is but seems like it is bad news after another without any sign of Goldfish trying to make take corrective action.

We love Goldfish! Audrey has learned so much, so fast! And when were at home (in or out of the pool) shes practicing her pulls and kicks. She has so much fun at class - and never wants to leave. We are so appreciative to all the staff - theyve been so helpful and great with our little girl.

We had such a traumatic experience at a different local swim school. Before coming to Goldfish I spoke to multiple managers, explained our situation and asked them to please place my child with a competent and patient instructor. Everyone I spoke with was very sympathetic and understanding of our situation and explained their program thoroughly.After a lot of conversation we signed my daughter up to try Goldfish. On her first day she was very scared to get into the water and cried a lot - but her teacher (Ms. Izzy) was so incredibly patient and welcoming of her - when we left that first day she started to have new/positive energy around getting in the pool. Fast forward 2 months and she is so excited to go to swim class, she talks about it all week and absolutely loves her teacher. I really appreciate that Ms. Izzy takes time and works within my childs comfort zone while still safely challenging her to do more each time she goes. I also appreciate that she explains things to my daughter and the reports she gives me at the end of class are really helpful.Overall, I am so grateful for taking a negative pool / water experience for my child (with that other school that shall not be named) and turning it around for my girl. Really, truly grateful for you all!

We are having a great experience at Goldfish! I feel safe taking my baby there & we love the class. It’s so fun to be able to do something together. The teachers are super sweet and make the class fun for the babies :)

This swim school really exceeded my expectations. All of the staff were very nice and helpful. They had a lot of patience with the kids. Inside was kept very clean. The kids had a lot of fun and can’t wait to go back!

We love the Farmington Hills Goldfish Swim School! Weve had our kids in lessons here, on and off, since 2019. They have great safety protocols in place to help families feel comfortable returning to swim lessons. I have been blown away by the changes theyve made to keep everyone healthy. Not only that, but the staff members are absolutely wonderful. Everyone is very kind and helpful. We have only been on the waitlist for a class 2 times (I was trying to schedule 3 kids in different levels for the same day/time) and both times we were on the list for less than 24 hours before a spot opened up.As for the lessons, I feel like my older two kids make such amazing strides during their lessons. They have become very strong swimmers because of the instruction weve received from Goldfish.

I love how supportive and encouraging they are with very young children. Encouraging them and harnessing the lack of fear, from youth, to teach them water safety while teaching them the proper techniques to truly know how to swim with confidence. I have 3 children, my 9 year old twins went all the way and swim like fish....my 5 year is coming up the rear and is already in glider 3 and will go all the way just like her siblings. Love goldfish. A full year non-stop, makes all the difference

My twins have been going weekly for 5 weeks now and we are very pleased. As for safety protocol- One Parent per child, sanitizer as you walk in, chairs appropriately placed, chairs, rooms sanitized between classes. The staff are friendly, communicative & accommodating to say the very least. We love coach Tania. Highly recommend.

We have been going to goldfish in Farmington Hills now for the last month. Everyone is so friendly and accommodating. Everything is clean and they are following every rule for the safety of our children. Highly recommend my kids have made such improvements in just a month.

Weve been coming for about 3 years and have really enjoyed the fun the kids have. I do wish there was more room to change because when the classes are full there are a ton of people but overall a great experience for the kids.

Highly recommend! The teachers are friendly. They follow COVID protocol. I always get to record my childs new skill at the end of class and I appreciate the way they let my child show me what they learned.

Goldfish swim school is the greatest place I have found for my kids. They have both grown in their swimming skills tremendously in the last year and I feel very safe with their Covid protocols. Their staff all know my kids by name and we look forward to going there every week. Also appreciate their make up policy if ever we can’t make it.

Ive used Goldfish in Ann Arbor and Farmington Hills since my four year old was two. Both places are the same in quality and professionalism. Goldfish seems to have a great concept going beyond teaching children how to swim. The staff were very patient with my screaming year old until he got used to them. They are still very patient and methodical to this day and Im pleased with their consistency. Good job Goldfish.

Through COVID, Goldfish has been doing a fantastic job opening and reducing exposure, from the plexiglass, low numbers to cleaning, we have felt very safe at Goldfish. Thank you!

The training and everything is great, but the changing rooms doors are not locked. They are always open so anyone can come in and see you naked. They need to fix it. But other than that, Everything is good.

After seeing all of the precautions and staff in action cleaning, we are very happy to be back and feel confident it is a safe environment! Keep up the great work!

Goldfish Swim School is a great place to have your child learn how to swim. I am impressed how well my child can swim at the young age of 5. He has been taking classes for three years and we have been satisfied the entire time. The progress, the skills learned, the water temperature, the atmosphere and the instructors are all things that I believe are amazing at Goldfish swim school. The ease of calling in absent and scheduling a makeup or choosing a new instructor or time slot are great benefits of being a member as well. I love the family swim time that is offered throughout the week at noon. This has really helped my son fall in love with swimming. Overall, Goldfish Swim School is an excellent school to learn a lifetime skill, safety and have a great time!

My daughter loves Goldfish. She just asked me today if she could go swimming again (she just had her lesson this morning). The instructors are patient, understanding, and knowledgeable!

It’s so worth the time and money! There is so many times available and days, easy process and make up classes. The school was clean and ran smoothly every 30 mins.. loved the idea of the parents behind glass . Coaches after class would let you know, how the swimmer was doing, and things to work on. It gave my kid and us confidence in her swimming skills while swimming this summer.

My two children really enjoy swimming at Goldfish. my 4 year old has went from not seimming to being able to swim, float, learn breath holding techniques, and water safety in just 3 months. The staff is friendly and ready to answer questions. The only downside is it is busy and changing classes can be a challenge!

Goldfish does a great job of teaching little ones the basic skills necessary to be safe in the water. As swimmers get older and more proficient, Goldfish staff does a great job of seamlessly easing swimmers into honing their swim skills and further developing them. They become not just proficient, but successful swimmers who can eventually graduate to the competitive swim club. Its a full range of development for swimmers of all ages and skill levels

We have been going to Goldfish since our daughter was 4 months old. So when we moved states, we knew we wanted to put her back into lessons at Goldfish. The instructors picked up just like nothing had changed and our daughter never skipped a beat. She loves her teacher and loves swimming because the team at Goldfish (in every location we have experienced) are caring, knowledgeable, and most of all, fun!

Our family loves Goldfish! The teachers really connect with the kids and really want them to improve. The staff is very friendly and kind. The curriculum is amazing, my son will be one in a few weeks; he began at 5months. He is very comfortable in the water! He loves the songs and the skills that go with the song. The skills he knows is truly amazing and I am so thankful for Goldfish!!!

I love how much my daughter has progressed in a short time. Classes are always on time. Instructors are always great. Farmington Hills location has an excellent staff. I am very happy with our experience at Goldfish.

The teachers are fantastic and we love the combination of skill development and fun. Family swim is also a great way to augment lessons and continue the enjoyment. The recent Halloween decorations add to the excitement that my son feels when he gets to Goldfish! An all around wonderful experience that makes me confident my child is learning important skills for water safety while enjoying it.

I can definitely see where time is taken to teach the techniques.Increasing the session by another 15 min to actually allow the kids to practice the technique would be a great improvement.With four kids in the class I think that would benefit both sides.

Very good place for kids to learn swimming. The trainers are really patient with the kids. I liked the part where trainers tell parents the kids swim status at the end of every session outing.The facility is good with amenities after the swim class. They provide shower area, change rooms, electric hair dryers etc.. only drawback is that the change rooms are inadequate but it is a matter of 5-10mins wait. The facility is clean as well. Overall an outstanding experience here.

We have been here for two years and have consistently seen great staff from the front desk to kind and patient teachers . The entire facility from the coloring table to bathrooms are always clean. You even change out the crayons.. now that’s going above and beyond! I love that we get so many make ups a year and even though I have three kids we can always find a time that works . Great job to everyone!

Update: thanks for making things right.I do recommend this place. After all my daughter enjoyed swimming there a lot.You have to book all the make up classes before your last session, my daughter happened to be sick and absent from all 4 sessions in the last month, nothing they could help but to give you a family swim pass which only allows you to swim at 12pm Mon to Fri without an instructor, which already comes with the membership. Managers were rude and condescending.

Had a terrible experience at this location and the staff seems to be missing professionalism. Spoke to a woman named Kesha on the phone months ago about booking my two youngest in swim lessons and she seemed to be clueless and when I asked a simple question about the program, she delivered so much attitude! Gave the benefit of the doubt and thought I would come in and take a tour of the facility and it’s a beautiful place! Decided to do more research and realized that this place is great for swim lessons but lacks extreme Professionalism!

Ms. Kaylee is a fantastic instructor to our infant son! Shes engaging, flexible, always happy to see our son, and shes always bubbly and encouraging. The facility is always clean and at a comfortable temperature in the pool and in the waiting area outside. We LOVE swim lessons at Goldfish!

Goldfish swim school fulfills a necessity but does so pretty poorly. Pros: They provide swim lessons in a warm environment (temperature) for children and you can have your child in a class without parent participation as young as 2 years. Cons: Somewhat pricey - about $20/lesson. They can cancel the lesson and require you to reschedule. Naturally, they cant control when they have to cancel due to someone puking in the pool or pooping in the pool or due to weather, but I think they should offer an account credit rather than making you make an extra trip to make-up the lesson - also, scheduling the makeup can be tricky if you have multiple children. Finally, parents are packed in there like sardines. The seats are all occupied and youre shoulder to shoulder with the parent next to you. Its hard to get a seat with a good view of your child. When the classes rotate on the half hour, its like a subway door opening, the chairs are vacated and everyone rushes to fill them. In short, I would be happy with it if they had a roomier location and a better policy for when they cancel lessons. Also, you have to give 30 days notice to disenroll.

My girls LOVE Goldfish! They have an amazing time learning and are building confidence each week. Mr. Peter & Mr. Ash make it so fun for them.Amazing experience so far!

We started when my daughter was 8 mos. She has done classes off and on, including the jump-start classes. She’s 7 and is a Pro-I. We travel a lot and she swims all the time. I like that she doesn’t fear the water and she knows water safety.

This is our third winter at Goldfish. We enrolled when my oldest was three and now all four of my kids are returning to attend. It speaks volumes about how well this franchise treats their employees in that each year we have returned, we are welcomed by familiar faces, most of whom recognize us and remember our childrens names. The facility is clean, the water is warm, and yes, the cost might be pricier than other places, but you get what you pay for when it comes to certain things in life, and this is one of those instances.Their methods and lessons are effective in teaching kids to be safe in and around the water. Yeah, its an additional bonus that my five-year-old is learning competitive strokes like the butterfly and breaststroke, but its essential that my 3-year and 4-year-old twins know that if they fall in the water, they can swim to the side, float on their back or belly, and how to be safe. I will pay the extra dollars any day to have a program that WORKS and that my children and I enjoy.As for anyone who chooses to see the negative (the facility can sometimes be crowded during peak times, i.e. weekends and evenings) (or the other comment indicating that the parent had a difficult time in canceling/rescheduling), I would say this: read the contract you sign when you sign it. Goldfish does not intend to pack their members in like sardines. The parent area is on the small side, but the place is Best. If a restaurant has a line out the door, thats usually a good sign. Goldfish is no different. Smart parents know that the program works, so we are willing to have standing-room-only during those busy times if it means that our kids are learning a vital skill. Besides, many times, the parents who sit in the front row arent even watching their kids; theyre on their cell phones not even watching their kids. To address the issue of feeling swindled out of a lesson that had to be canceled or rescheduled, read your contract. How many facilities do you know that would gladly reschedule a lesson free of charge? Why WOULD they give money to you instead of rescheduling? They are a business, after all. I have four children and have NEVER had a problem rescheduling. Ive always been treated with kindness, professionalism, considerate and accommodating customer service when needing to reschedule. Any other swim program Ive enrolled in would simply tell you to eat the cost of the lesson should it be missed. The Goldfish staff goes above and beyond any normal swim staff. I would recommend this school to any one in search of an effective swim program.Goldfish always has many engaging events for kids and families (family swim, parents night out, holiday special events, monthly themes). I look forward to continuing to part of the Goldfish community and eventually watching all four of my kids swim on the competitive rec team in the future.

Fantastic! Teachers are all really positive and Sofia loves to swim! Started her at 33 months when she could do the big kid pool, and she was swimming independently around 4.5 years.
