I’ve personally had many of the teachers, and my children have also had many of the teachers- not sure what else to say other than ROCK STARS. Absolute Rock Stars. Most of them have 25+ years experience, teaching certificates, advanced degrees. They are excellent, to say the least. Can’t wait for my kids to attend in the fall. Very exciting!!

I feel that learning Latin and Greek was a transformational experience for me. First, it led me to choose to study Classics in college, and even now, part of my teaching orthopaedic residents leads me to invoke my knowledge of classical languages. It helped me learn anatomical terms in medical school; for me, it felt like a strength which gave me a unique perspective. Since I took the required science prerequisites in college as well, Ive never felt at a disadvantage with a non science undergraduate degree; . Ive continued to study Latin and other classical languages as a hobby, which has brought me enrichment and enjoyment outside of work. The quality of teachers at my accelerated high school was second to none. I still cite them as formative individuals in my academic and emotional development. I felt challenged by the type and quantity of work, but not overwhelmed. This served me well in a rigorous college and medical school environment and helped me adjust to new experiences. Being challenged and learning organization and study skills earlier in my academic life meant I had a framework for success that served me well into my professional life. Even now, when preparing for a complicated case in the operating room, I still use tactics I learned from my time in high school. All of those components from my academic training shaped me into who I am today and continue to influence me.

I am so excited to see this school is going to join the Covington community! I recognize several of the teachers as world-class former teachers from Covington Latin where I sent my daughter. Secondary education can be a compromise. We loved the academic rigor, but werent thrilled by the heavy emphasis on Catholicism and I regretted the lack of field trips--education out of the classroom can be as valuable as in. I wish I had been able to choose the Covington Classical Academy, which seems to strike an ideal balance. I have every confidence this new school will produce the best educated, most well-rounded students in the Greater Cincinnati area (and beyond).

Based on the caliber of instructors, this school should stand at the top of any parents list. As a former student of many of the instructors I can testify that they have the knowledge, dedication, and passion to prepare their students to succeed both in academics and in life.Im now a college professor and full time paramedic, and credit my education with these instructors with informing my teaching style.

This is such an exciting opportunity for aspiring young scholars to be in the inaugural class of CCA. I had the privilege to be taught by three of these founding faculty at another accelerated study program, and the passion they have for their respective subjects is evident from the moment you walk through the door. I have a particular love of Classics, Latin, and History, and I can trace it back in large part to experiences with these teachers. These subjects are a doorway for stimulating critical thinking and academic curiosity.I enjoyed the concept of accelerated study, as I continually felt challenged in a way that wasnt always evident during my grade school years. I highly recommend learning more about this program if you think your young student would be interested!

The crux of any schools success lies within its leadership and teachers. 25+ years in school systems held by Kelly Kusch and the CCA crew shows not only experienced administration and pedagogy, but also a genuine care and passion for youth education. (Plus a 5th day of learning out of the classroom? So cool!) Very excited for the future of this academy!

Choosing a high school can be a fraught experience for any parent; an adolescent is a moving target. All parents want to find a school that is a good fit for their child, where they can thrive academically and socially. However, at a time when educational institutions engage in as intense marketing as global corporations, the options can be overwhelming. To STEM or not to STEM? What about the Arts? Languages? Opportunities for gifted children or additional support for those who need it?When all is said and done, the value of a school lies not in fancy labs or Asian languages, but whether or not your child is equipped with the skills and learning dispositions to participate meaningfully in the global society. This is where Covington Classical Academy excels. Strip away all the frills, and a solid education is one that teaches students how to learn--how to critically analyse, research and discuss--and, importantly, how to enjoy learning. In a world full of fake news, an education grounded in scholarship and engagement is essential. Covington Classical Academy is bringing learning back to its classical roots and it couldnt come at a better time.I was a student of CCAs Head of School, history and math teachers. I can vouch for the single-minded determination of these educators to do their very best to help create future world-changers. You never know where youll end up with a good education: I grew up in Cincinnati, studied Latin and Greek in Northern Kentucky, majored in Asian Studies with a minor in Mandarin in rural Ohio, lived in Mainland China for nearly 10 years and am now an educator and parent in Melbourne, Australia. I thank my high school teachers in part for instilling me with the desire to never stop learning and growing as an individual. My only regret at the moment is that my own children wont experience learning with them as well!

As a graduate of Covington Latin who benefited immensely from a classical education, and as a current Covington homeowner who #LovesTheCov, I always assumed I would end up sending any future children of mine to the same school I attended. However, in recent years, the school administration (and the Diocese) have made some decisions that caused me to question whether it would still be the right fit. Unfortunately, I wasn’t thrilled with my other options either. Enter: Covington Classical Academy. Led by some of the teaching staff that once made my alma mater so great, this new school plans to take all of the best elements of the classical education and expand them into an all-encompassing learning experience fit for today’s bright young minds. My favorite aspect is the “5th day” concept, which goes beyond classroom learning and into real world application (read about it on their website if you haven’t yet!) CCA seems to understand that while it’s great to educate intelligent students, it’s equally (if not more) important to cultivate well-rounded humans. And yes, I love that they’ll be learning Latin. Even though I gave CCA founder and my former Latin teacher a lot of grief at the time (sorry Mrs. Kusch!), I now recognize that studying Latin had an undeniable positive impact on my vocabulary in not only English, but also French and Italian. I’m thankful to know there will finally be a place that I’d feel good about sending my future kids when the time comes.
