Ballroom dance is a thing of beauty and inspiration. For me—someone who used to just enjoy watching it from afar—it has been a dream come true. And Smooth Sailing Ballroom has made it happen! Taking lessons with Adam for a little over a year and half has been an unbelievable experience. His artistic sensibility, musicality, athleticism, and gracefulness as a dancer are extraordinary, his choreography outstanding. Adam is also a born teacher. Well tuned into a students immediate needs, he fishes out the right language (and music!) with a good dose of humor to communicate with you to reach a desired goal. Whether simply to taste the flavor of dancing, or to discover the essence of dancing, Adams studio, spacious and welcoming, is where you want to be!

Adam is an amazing dance instructor. My husband and I took lessons prior to our daughter’s wedding and learned several dances. We felt so polished and poised when we danced at her reception. It was so fun that we have continued to take lessons several times a month. Adam makes us feel comfortable and confident. He makes it so fun and never makes us like we did poorly. My husband and I feel closer as a couple as we learn new dances and practice them at home. I highly recommend Smooth Sailing Ballroom! Dancing lessons are great exercise and great for self confidence building.

I have been taking dance lessons from Adam Mehring for seven plus years. Dance is a delight, and a great form of exercise without drudgery; an investment of self-care to both my body and spirit. I will soon enter my 7th decade and when I dance I feel like Im floating.Adam is an exceptional teacher; patient, kind, creative, with a depth of understanding of body mechanics, and, he s a superb dancer! He can explain dance steps and moves in various ways, and has the kindness to laugh with me about mistakes without being contemptuous or impatient. I really enjoyed the Friday night dance. The music was good, with a good variety of modern and classic music. The instructors seem knowledgeable and very nice. I will definitely being going again.

I went for their Friday night dance lesson and social. With no experience I expected to learn a few steps and then sit on the sidelines for the majority of the social watching the more experienced dancers. WRONG!! Not only was the lesson fantastic but I found myself on the floor multiple times with more experienced dancers who were kind to a fault. (including some of the dance instructors). By the time I finally left my cheeks hurt from smiling so much! I can´t wait to return!

Smooth Sailing Ballroom is fantastic. The new studio space is a joy to dance in. Private lessons here prepared my wife and I for our first dance at our wedding and it went perfectly.
