Fantastic instruction, fun!

Without a doubt this has changed my life and also my daughters. Awkward at first we were welcomed and made to feel ok about our missteps. Six months later we were amazed at the progress and my daughter got to compete at the Yuletide ball. The joy and fun of it is worth all the practice hours and I would recommend it to any one, at any age.Alex

Blue Light Ballroom in one word- home. The instructors are brilliant of course, but its more than that. Theyre warm, funny, quirky, and so passionate about dance. They take the time to know each of their students. Social lessons are fun and energetic, private lessons are beyond insightful, and Friday night socials are a breath of fresh air after a tedious week. The other students are inclusive and its clear newcomers are not only welcome, theyre celebrated. This is one of my favorite places in the world. (Also the owner has the cutest dog.)

I love to dance. I love the people, I love the atmosphere, the acceptance... There are few dance studios that feel like a family. This is one of those studios. Add on top great dance technique and a passion for the art of dance, and youve found yourself at Terry Deans Blue Light Ballroom. We moved here for my husbands job, but were staying here because this studio has given us a home.

Superb studio and instructors. We took private lessons from Taylor to prepare for our wedding dance and he was wonderful. He made the process so enjoyable that we went back even after our wedding for group classes. This is a great community and highly recommend to anyone looking to try out dance in the Charlottesville area.

We worked with Taylor for some private lessons before our wedding. Taylor was very patient, flexible with our schedule, and an excellent instructor. Our families and friends were wildly impressed with the dance and the venue coordinator said it was the best shed ever seen! We had no dancing experience at all going into the process, so we are very grateful to Taylor and the studio.

A highly supportive and welcoming dance venue. Lovely participants, down-to-earth instructors. An atmosphere to put new and rusty dancers at ease, and completely without pretense. Also, a full mix of dances embraced at the social dances, a balanced format. Wonderful.

This is an excellent studio. The instructors are excellent, as are the other students. I have so much fun there!

I started my dancing at Terry Deans five years ago with Tara as my instructor. The instruction was expert and I very much enjoyed every lesson. Eventually, using my dance skills I met my future wife dancing so I will alway be grateful for what I learned. I also found the other students who attend the many group lessons and parties most friendly and accomodating. I have to say walking into Terry Deans Blue Light Ballroom was a life changing event. I can dance.

Ive attended lots of their showcase performances, Friday night dance socials, and classes. The dancing and instruction is always high-quality, fun and professional.
