Watch the principal in charge and her husband. Watch close. Their images and paychecks are more important than students. Principal has repeatedly told children to shut up. Her husband has a strange way of teaching that can make kids Uneasy. No they are not pastors. Something went down few years back Their license got pulled.(lips seems to be sealed for some reason). They just claim retirement as the school is their income anyways. Teachers are not licensed some dont even have teaching degrees. Listen to your children closely if they go here.

This school, students, and teachers have been such a blessing for us! My son STRUGGLED in life and now he seems to have a purpose. He comes home happy every single day. I HIGHLY suggest looking into this school for your child

My daughter was struggling for yrs.. I finally changed schools from one private school to WCA, she started in 3rd grade, Mrs Sherri was amazing! She went from a 3rd grader unable to read to actually reading in no time.. This school is a blessing to us. Thank you all for your care and wonderful teaching!

West Chestnut Academy is a blessing for my family! The tuition is affordable, the staff is INCREDIBLE, and I know my daughter is getting the best possible faith-centered education. What a blessing to have a Neighborhood School in Yakima like West Chestnut! No matter how far we commute, we can be assured we are all included in the neighborly warmth that makes us all feel so welcome---parents, guardians, grandparents, extended relatives and other caregivers alike! So many positive things to say about this unique school...Starting with the safety precautions and anti-bullying atmosphere--all children are valued and inclusive friendship circles are nurtured! West Chestnut Academy is an outstanding affordable private school where respect and responsibility are promoted in a Christian environment. This amazing school offers alternative, personalized programs from dedicated teachers.

This is a normal student review with my experience with the school. It Teaches nothing but bible. These kids are going to go on to collage and know nothing about what their learning because of the education they got here. The school has contacted me trying to get me to remove my review, but I am just going to update it because it is none of their business to try to make me delete it. The students are very stuck up and not easy to get along with. There are some students who are nice though, just very few of them. Teachers are very strict here. I got in trouble for making SAUCE at lunch. I like that it started at 8:30 instead of 7:55 like normal schools do. I remember watching a documentary in science on how evolution was fake and was a ploy by the government to get people to not believe in god. It was very strange. I personally do not recommend this school from my experiences

A lengthy review, but I promise it’s worth the read...Before we came to West Chestnut Academy, our son struggled a lot in the public school setting. He was at a school of over 800 children, all 2nd grade and younger. His classroom size was 18+ kids, he was getting bullied on the playground, and having behavior problems in class. We were receiving daily phone calls from the principal, and he was suspended from his former school twice at the ripe old age of 6. Suspended. FROM KINDERGARTEN.We were beginning to lose hope. We had tried everything discipline-wise, and nothing had seemed to be working. We finally found West Chestnut Academy and decided to reach out and see if they could help us. After meeting with Pastor Colleen and explaining our situation to her, she did not hesitate to welcome our son with open arms. She was incredibly confident that they could help him.Fast forward a year later, and we could not be happier with the improvements our son has made in his behavior and his academics. He still has his not-so-good days, but the phone calls and emails are much less frequent than before.We love West Chestnut and their small class sizes, which gives each student more opportunity for one-on-one time with their teachers, and their vision for their students. Everyone knows everyone by name, they teach and practice kindness and grace, and are extremely good about communicating with parents about their children’s strengths and weaknesses.I have and will continue to recommend WCA to anyone who has children who are struggling in public school, no matter what situation. I feel safe dropping my son off in the mornings knowing he is receiving a great education and being taught compassion toward others.Thank you Pastor Colleen and all of the staff at WCA for loving our son and continuing to teach him to love others!
