Freedom high school has some rude and disrespectful administration staff. They dont actually care about students. The rule at the end of the day to get on the bus is that you have to be on the bus before 2:15. I got to the bus door at 2:14 and the bus driver closed it when I was there. I stood there because it wasnt 2:15 yet and she shouldnt have closed it. The admins comes and tell me to move even though Im clearly early and I say no because I got here before 2:14. My locker is up stairs and the school is overcrowded so its hard to get upstairs and back down to the bus. So the bus driver opens the door and says this is not her first time being late technically Im not late because its 2:14. So I walk on the bus because the door is open and they said your going to be removed even though Im already on the bus and I was early and the admin was being rude and got in my face yelling at me to move. Its ridiculous I have to call my dad to pick me up and hes far thats why Im riding the bus. Arent admin here to help me? Guess not

It is a very good school, before I came here Ive heard a lot of bad things, but none of it is true.Your experience at FHS really depends on who you hang around. This school is very diverse and the teachers are very caring and helpful. EXCEPT for one teacher -_-...Mr.Tylander. If you have him for any type of math class, PLEASE switch out of his class. He could care less and is not helpful AT ALL. It is a very fun school to be in even though some of the students dont have school spirit.

Freedom High School is not as bad as people make it out to be. The school is more diverse than most of the other schools around here. The teachers are understanding, caring, and helpful. One problem with Freedom is that the students are not as motivated as they should be.

The bathrooms are really nice, but the girls bathrooms are so disgusting. Mainly because of the girls. It is a very diverse school. Some of the teachers are boring and too much into following the rule, but majority teachers are really cool to be around and like to have fun. Lunch time is short and it takes too long to get our food. And there is no school spirit.

My experience at freedom hasnt been that bad. Honestly students just exaggerate at certain points. I like how teachers actually care about you...well to students that deserve it because some students at freedom are a**h***s. The lunch workers are very stingy with the food they give small portions👎🏼‼️But Im not complaining because if I didnt like the way the lunches are monitored I can bring my own lunch. Anyways I am graduating in 2016 and Ive gone to freedom since 9th grade and I have had decent memories😀 so I can say I enjoyed my high school experience. P.S: THE NEW POLICY OF NO PHONES 📴ARE TERRIBLE 👎🏼like the administrators are doing the most😤

Being now in my fourth year of attendance at Freedom High School, I can honestly say that the reputation it has is not accurate to the school itself. The one thing I could complain about is the student body. They lack motivation and have very minimal school spirit. On the other hand, Freedom offers more than plenty of courses, both AP and regular, that fit the interests of just about everyone. In addition, there are many clubs and non-academic activities that students can participate in that are sponsored by the dedicated staff. To top it all off, Freedoms AFJROTC program is one of the best in the county. It provides a great way to improve leadership skills and everybody in it is a dedicated member, including the instructors. Overall, Freedom isnt a bad school like everybody makes it to be.

SOME of the teachers from FHS are cool and nice and they help you with what you are struggling with but the school lacks school spirit and they need to extend lunch time because there are students who couldnt even eat also because of the people cutting line. I even have to take classes that I do not need when I can be working and saving up money for college. :P

At first, Freedom was fun. Than later as thr hears progress it just got boring. Freedom has a reputation where Its ratchet or The worse school in the county. Their are a small and i mean small handful of teachers that actually give a crap about their student. Shout out to you guys. And the people that attend here basically are rude.

Freedom HS isnt the best high school in the county but it isnt the worst . The students complain about lack of school spirit but that is the students fault . Some of the new administration do a bit much when it comes to unnecessary rules ( cell phone policy ) . Many teachers though care about their students and want to see them succeed and go to college . Some counselors dont give students the opportunity to choose what classes they want to take they just pick what they feel is best . The birthday shootouts on the morning announcements are nice .

I went to pick up my sister from school for s dentist apt and the administration was extremely rude, the lady at the front office spoke very rudely and was very unclear. On top of that, First i stood in line to check out my sister and show my id, there was one person in front of me and it took 20 minutes. I was told my sister was at lunch and to wait 5 minutes for her. I ended up having to wait 40 minutes for her just to pick her up. She told me she went to class and her teacher didnt even send her to the office. On top of it, the other teachers are very rude and unprofessional. I went there for only my 12th grade of high school and it was very unorganized. None of the administration knew what was going on regarding schedules. The cafeteria lines are extremely long and the afterschool programs are very limited and strict. Also the workers are very stingy, they are always out of certain things such as syrup or sour cream. The school is extremely over crowded and the policies do not make any sense. 70% of your class grade is based on ur quiz and test scores which is proven to be a very biased way of checking knowledge. The bathrooms are extremely dirty majority of the time. The bus drivers always changing and coming at different timings. School has no spirit and hardly any peprallys, they charge money for everything. In general, the school is a mess with very low educational standards and terrible staff. Some teachers and counselors are great but it is very difficult to find them. I would not recommend this school to anyone if they have different options available.

I made a google account JUST to express my disgust with this ratchet ass school. I walked in to deal with a situation with my child and as Im sitting in the office not to mention this was NOT the first time, a bald head black male was in appropriately looking at females behind and breast. Literally EVERY STUDENT thats walked into the office this disgusting man looked at them in a sexual way and EVEN MADE GESTURES AND SPOKE ABOUT CERTAIN BODY PARTS! IN THE FRONT OFFICE! Im beyond disgusted! How long before just lookin will he move on to touching if he hasnt already? Are our kids really safe? Im beyond disgusted with freedom and this is NOT THE BEGINNING OF IT

Freedom has pros and cons. The students here arent very spirted or supportive of each other or the school. They have a lot of confrontations. There are more confrontations here then there should be. I feel like there isnt a lot of time being put in to avoid them. The food isnt very good theres a limited variety. The lines are very long and theres not enough time to eat. Their rules are being changed way to often. They cant make up their mind on how they want their school to function. Our graduation rate isnt very high and students arent given very supportive teachers. Some of the teachers are supportive & care about their students though. My counselor helps me maintain good grades and hes always willing to talk to me about anything. overall its not my first choice. But it could be worse.

Ill give 3, only because some of the teachers and admin are pretty chill.I was a student here from 9th to 12th and some might recognize me as someone who wasnt here AT ALL and we all knew that one guidance counselor after Mrs. Morris. I believe his name was Nerenburg? Some of the admin though are actually pretty strict. I was there when they first banned leggings and yoga pants because it was deemed a distraction. But what shocks me is the beginning of my senior year, I knew I wasnt going to be able to attend any of my classes and I went to my counselor at the time and talk to him about it. At first, I thought something was actually going to work for me. He had told me I could be eligible for GradPoint (to those who dont know, its an online system where you can do your classes from home) or as a matter of fact, I was eligible. I was 18 at this time and I was staying home from school because my mom was in an out of the hospital for personal reasons and my dad had a gallbladder issue and my grandfather was sick. With my grandfather being ill, you had to have a healthy immune system to take care of him. So I offered to stay home and spend as much time with him as possible. I wasnt going to be the one to stay in school and then risk having to get picked up early because he passed. No way in hell. I wanted to be there for him when he went. I wanted to be the one to say goodbye to him and say I loved him.Long story short, the day after the seniors graduated, I was sent to another admin office to recieve my paper work to attend to New Directions. To be honest, this school sucked, none of the admins really cared because if they did I wouldnt have been kicked out. It even went as far as them calling my parents about it. The admin didnt care, told me I wasnt eligible for GradPoint. Some of the teachers didnt give me school work when I asked. Even if i knew I wasnt going to be there for a week. Fights are always breaking out and no one seems to be doing anything about it. Truth is, if you have an option to where you want to go, please, dont go here. Obviously the worst school I have ever attended. Especially when they think your out whoring yourself or even selling drugs. Take it from my story. If your school doesnt understand whats going on in your life and doesnt want to give you support, then this school obviously doesnt care about your education. Not even Prince William County Schools District. Everything is seriously overpriced and I can see why students are lacking in school spirit. Take my advice, go somewhere where the teachers and admin care about your education.

The administration is inconsistent and unorganized. Theres miscommunication between the staff and students and even between fellow staff members. For example, events are all over the place, new policies are enforced without notifying the students first, and counselors do not reach out to students enough, like when it comes to what SOLs are needed to graduate, however, if the student reaches out, they help as much as they can. Also, the enforcement of rules is inconsistent. Girls are more likely to be detained for dresscode violation than boys (ripped jeans). There is no school spirit. The dull colors of grey lockers against white walls makes the inside look like a jail. The food is decent, however there is only 30mins for each lunch shift and it takes 25mins to get lunch, leaving only 5mins to eat. The AP classes are exceptionally high quality and there are a limited amount of passionate teachers and those teachers are extraordinary. They should get a raise.

As opposed to what a large amount of people think, Freedom is not a subpar school; it provides everyone with the opportunity to succeed, some take it, while others just whine about how bad of a school it is to justify their 2.0’s and low performance. The problem with this school from the perspective of an AP student is 1) they don’t prepare the freshman. They don’t show them how important their GPA and scores are. This lead me to having a 2.6 freshman year, and no one seemed to care that my grades were this low, not my teachers, nor my counselor. This type of inattentiveness of the faculty leads to a lot of our problems. It seems that once you enter you are labeled as either a slacker that won’t achieve much(especially if you’re in esol) or a student that might do well. Once you’re there only you yourself can get yourself out, and most of our students don’t because they accepted, and unfortunate embrace this label. Other then this issue, we have vary competent and great teachers, especially in the AP classes. We have a giant selection of AP classes. We have a lot of CENS related clubs, and anything else that another high school does/should have. Also, for the students from the other reviews that are saying this school is “boring” or “not fun” or that the phone policy is to tight and the administration sucks, I have one thing to say: suck it up. You’re here to get an eduction, not to put your earphones in and zone out. It’s school, there’s rules, and they’re there for a reason. Also, like another reviewer said, favoritism is definitely evident in the counseling department. If you’re not in the top 10, you’re on your own. If want help you have to reach out to the counselors. If you’re in the top 10, you’re the one that gets talked to about scholarships. You’re the one that gets talked to about colleges. You’re the shiny metal of this school. Even though rank at this school means absolutely nothing. Grades are inflated(as evident by very low standardized testing scores relative to GPA’s), and if you can play the system, you can easily get a 4.0+The word diverse is being thrown around a lot in the other reviews. While this is a great thing, you have to understand that this is a huge contributor to why we seem like a inept school. The diversity comes with a price; most of our students’ parents are either immigrants or don’t have college degrees, that’s why, unlike other schools in the county, we don’t preform that well. At Patriot most students are assumed they’re going to college that’s their end plan, no if’s, and’s, or but’s about it, while at Freedom, college is just something someone might go to if they really wanted to.
